I’m not very tech-savvy and this is my first Windows-based laptop. I was afraid I would be lost but it was very easy to learn how to use. All the info I needed was built-in with a tour to explain everything I needed to know to learn how to use it for all of my needs! It is well built, sturdy, and seems built to last! I’m looking forward to having this as my primary “online machine” for a good long while!

This laptop does everything stated and at an impressive speed. The 12gb of RAM is just enough for everyday use and access of multiple running apps. The housing is plastic and not aluminum and that is one reason why it is cheaper price wise. Honestly I was skeptical about buying a windows OS laptop again, but I am happy with this choice.

Okay, I just got the thing earlier today, but it deserves a super premature review.
The screen, to me, looks beautiful. It’s a matte finish, not glossy. No glare at all from any angle. Vivid, and the colors just look great. No bleeding of light, just simply sharp from corner to any other corner. Speakers are more than sufficient. Can it be louder, I don’t know. I have definitely heard worse. It sounds really nice and clear. The speed is great. No delays. No hiccups. Everything just opens up quickly. The keys are easy to type on and they feel rather quick. The trackpad (I have never liked using a trackpad) feels great and very responsive. Lots of room on it, but plenty of room too for your hands to feel comfortable when in use.
The build of the unit is, in my opinion, excellent. It looks and somewhat feels like sandstone. To me, there is zero bounce on any area of the keyboard. Simply feels solid. The hinges on the screen feel tight and stay in place without any movement when in use. And unlike other laptops, there is no flashy chrome on any of the signage on the laptop. Everything is uniform and professional looking. The unit has nice weight to it, but it does not feel as if you are trying to lift a dumbbell. The power cord seems a bit cheap, but it does subtly pop into place and stays in the slot. I do miss that part of laptops being bigger like they used to be. They just used to feel more secure. Hopefully it stays the way it feels right now for a long time to come.
At the end of the day, I am not an expert, but I know my way around technology, to a degree, and I have to say that this unit simply feels great, appears to function smoothly/fluidly, I don’t hear anything going on it it, and it is, again, very well built.

I bought this laptop for my grandmother whose old Dell was really in the dumps and going SUPER SLOW. This popped right up, was easy to install and configure all of the things that she needed and has been running perfectly for her ever since. Just because she’s retired doesn’t mean she can wait hours for things to work and now this lets her spend more time in her garden taking care of her delicious corn she brings for dinner (YUM!!!).

Bought as an upgrade over my old dell. This laptop is very fast and can do most daily activities…Bluetooth,Hd webcam, etc…. Only knock I have is a short battery life and no backlit keyboard. Overall a very good laptop for under $500….

I got this when it was on sale and I’m very pleased with it! I don’t really do any gaming or anything like that, I just use it for emails and that sort of stuff. I’ve watched a few movies and like the display. I do like the touch screen for certain things but don’t use it to often. All in all it serves all things that I need it for very well. I got it for about $500 and am very happy with my purchase!

Love this laptop – my old one was still on Windows7, so, not very functional. I had to get rid of the browser system it acme with – much too limiting: now back on Chrome with a separately loaded Webroot package for security.
Holds a charge for a really long time, so students could work all day at school w/o recharging.

I was looking for a core i5 with good RAM and this was on-sale. Dell is always a safe choice, it has great quality and good support. I prefer 14″ screens, but must admit this 15.6 HD is really great and also easy to handle. The only thing I don’t like is the plastic feeling, despite it is robust, I like more the 2-in-1 14″ metallic one. Overall a great purchase.
