Nice shoes, I bought them for my lady , she is normally a 5 and a half UK, ordered 5 and they were very very small, now trying a six.
My original pair was made in Indonesia and have lasted over 9 years -these are however made in China, – maybe that’s why the size is too small- the quality does look ok they feel comfortable, not sure they will last as long- the jury is out. lets see.

This is my second pair of Reef Fanning and I love them! There’s a little elevation to the heel, which I find more comfortable than a flat sandal, and the footbed is neither too soft nor too firm. I appreciate that my feet don’t slip and slide even when the shoe is soaking wet. Once I got the size right, they fit my foot perfectly. I did find they run a little large so I returned my first pair for one size smaller. If you wear a half size I’d recommend going down. The painted logo on the heel rubs off at the first wearing and looks a little messy but you don’t see that whilst wearing them. I think the wider strap is much more comfortable and stable than a narrow strap. The fabric between my toes doesn’t rub at all. They’re completely washable. I’ve worn my first pair all summer for three years straight and they’ve held up nicely. My foot is an average width, I don’t think they’d be so comfortable for a wide foot.

The size 9 just barely fits, not much space behind my heel. If you like an inch or so beyond the heel or the straps to be loose-ish, go up a size. I like them being snug because I worry about slipping around in them. Every morning, I spray out or wash the dog’s big water bowl out back and refill it on the smooth concrete patio. I tried to slip in the water on the smooth concrete and I couldn’t, so that’s great. I also thoroughly wet my feet and the flip flops as I wore them and tried to get my feet to slip around in them and even walking quickly in deep gravel and there was no slipping around. So, I feel like these are safe. They don’t, however, do anything for my heel pain in my right foot. I’ve only had and have been wearing these for 5 days, though (at all times when walking around at home on all tile/concrete floors). Aside from these things, the straps don’t rub or dig, they have a slight heel (which seems better for the body) and the soles are firm, almost hard, although they do bend where your forefoot bends when you walk. I have neutral arches and I don’t feel these pushing up on my arches when I wear them, but I don’t notice them touching my arches at all.

Absolutely love these. First pair of Reef flip flops! They are incredibly comfortable. I am a 7.5 normal shoe size so went for an 8 & they couldn’t be better. Wasn’t expecting a bottle opener in the bottom, I must have missed that in the description but you never know, it may come in handy. Yes all round brilliant flip flops, just need the sun to shine now!

Don’t let the price put you off, these are well worth it. This is my second pair of Reef fanning flip flops. The first pair were so comfy but recently my feet were starting to ache after long walks so I decided maybe it was time for a new pair if I had worn down the cushioning perhaps. Went to re-order from my purchase history and was shocked to discover I’d had my original pair since 2009!! Amazing that after six years they are still in once piece and still look great, as I wear them all through late Spring, and Summer and early Autumn every year. This new pair are the same style (just different colours from my old pair) and just as comfy from day one so here comes another six years of fabulous foot comfort!!

I have had these flip flops since March 2019 and have worn them every single day, all year round come rain or shine and they are still as comfortable as the first time that I put them on.
There was no ‘bedding period’ where my feet had to get used to them, they were perfect from the start.
I usually wear a size 7 (UK), and depending on where you look that translates to an EUR 41 which is what these are. I have a wide foot, but even though these are described as ‘medium’ they fit great.
I wear them all day and find them really comfy to walk in.
I will be buying more of these.

I just unpacked these, and have been wearing them around the house for about 20 minutes now. All I can say, is that I think I found my new fav flip flop brand. They’re so comfy, and have good support. Thin strapped flip flops hurt my feet, and just seem to break a lot easier. After finally retiring some cabelas brand flip flops that I got in 2008, I looked into these. No regrets! Forgive the unkempt toenails and scratches on my leg, due to the curious feline shown. I also want to mention that I wear a 9.5, so I ordered the 10, and they fit with just a bit of extra room in the heel. Not an issue at all.

I adore the Fanning flip flops – I have bought 5 pairs over the last 3yrs, 4 of which are still being worn regularly over the summer. I wear a pair all day in warm weather and they are just so comfortable. The fifth pair were still ok on top but the sole was a bit too worn to be slip proof so I had to unhappily bin! The Fanning name I think relates to the inbuilt suspension and it really is effective. It prevents sore, tired feet as does does the shaping for the instep. Fabulous flip flops, worth every penny. I buy UK 7 although I normally wear a 6.5 shoe and they are perfect. They wash easily (by hand) and dry fairly quickly in the sun.

I’m in my 50’s, and until I discovered Reefs about 10 years ago, I’ve never been able to wear any kind of flip flop because of the pain between my toes. Although Reefs are pricey, they were always worth it because I could finally wear flip flops with no pain! If these are Reefs, I’ll be surprised. They hurt between the toes as soon as I put them on. Not only that, even though they fit in length, my toes hung off the end slightly. It’s as if the thong is attached too far up. I also have to wonder if they’re true Reefs because of the price, which is much lower than on the Reef website. Someone else doubted they were authentic because they were made in Vietnam. I don’t have a problem with outsourcing as long as the original quality remains, but these are not the Reefs I’m used to. To make matters worse, Amazon sent me dirty shoes!

I had my last pair of Reefs in a previous edition of this model and they lasted me at least 7 years. The sole recently started to degrade on those, so I bought these as a replacement. They are every bit as perfect as my last pair, and even moreso. Not least because they have an amazing hidden feature: a bottle opener in the bottom of each sandal!! Honestly, I was ebullient at this discovery. Any beer lover knows that getting to the beach and finding out your brews don’t have twist tops is the worst. So these sandals solve that dilemma. They are also just incredibly comfortable for all day walking and so many activities. So…that’s it. I love these sandals. Thank you very much.
Note: I am starting to think there are some reviewers who go out of their way to spread misinformation and unwarranted speculation about certain products and their authenticity. I do not find that there is anything remotely wrong with the quality, fabrication or origin of this product.

In 2003, I discovered Reef Slap 3 Athletic flip flop shoes in Hawaii while I was on my honeymoon. I have bought them nearly every year since as I wear them all summer. They’re the only flip flop I can wear because I have rheumatoid arthritis in my feet pretty bad. I’ve had 9 metatarsal stress fractures due to walking long distances. This year I asked my husband for a new pair for my May 1st birthday. By the time he got around to it, all were sold out here on Amazon. So I choose the Reef Fanning instead as an alternate. I have to say, while they’re a good shoe, they’re not nearly as comfortable as the Slap 3. So in that sense, I am disappointed as I need soft cushion but support as well. I can wear the Slap 3 all day without any fractures. So this will be a test wearing the Fanning instead. PLEASE don’t stop making the Slap 3 because I really depend on them to keep me mobile! Thanks!

4 years ago, on Labor Day weekend, I bought my first pair of reefs.
I have used these and wore them every single day from May thru September, but finally decided it was time for a replacement. I love the quality of these shoes, but putting my foot in one of the old ones with my other foot in one of the new ones, there is a huge change in feeling. The quality is there, but the strap has stretched over time, constant wearing and walking, being soaking wet, the heat, the dirt, the cold, etc.
I will continue buying these exact shoes Every couple years.
