My wife and I try to stay active. Aside from our normal jobs which have us on our feet all day, and coaching after work / weekends, we also try to workout 5-6 days a week. With that being said, we were looking for something to help with our sore muscles after our long days, and to help prep for our next day. This is a miracle device.
    / Setup /
This is easy to get going with, plug it in to charge, the handle has a ring light that wraps around that will let you know how your battery is doing, and will pulse to let you know where it’s at in charging. You get a carrying case filled with different types of massage heads depending on what muscles you are targeting. All the controls are on the back of the device, you also get a light indicator to let you know how hard you are pressing. Honestly, the best thing is when you pair the Hypervolt to your phone. I downloaded the app on to my Z Fold3 and ran the app there. The beautiful thing about the app is that you can choose what you are trying to target and pick a preset massage routine. Then it tells you what massage head to use, and you just follow the prompts on your phone to move along the muscles you are focusing on. It really allows you get the most out of it.
    // Use //
My wife and I love this thing. I have ended up using it almost daily, especially after tweaking my knee a bit after a long run. One of the first times I used it I had just finished running a 12-mile run and I followed one of the good night sleep routines, and my legs felt great. I felt so relaxed and had no problem getting to sleep. I’ve ended up using this mainly on my legs and feet using various routines in the app, but we’ve also used it along our backs, shoulders, and arms. I’ve used the Hypervolt a few times with out the app, but I feel the using the app is where it really shines, and I feel like I am getting the most out of each session.
    /// Wrap-Up ///
If you have a job that wears on your body, or if you exercise; then this is something that I would recommend investing in. You allow your muscles to relax, and ease tension. It helps you get to sleep and prepare for your next day. This is an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a great massager.

This is one of those devices that once you have it, you’ll wonder how you’ve lived without one. I live in an area that gets really hot in the summer and sometimes I don’t drink enough water when working outside and will sometimes get muscle cramps. When I would have the feeling my muscle was gonna cramp up, I would use this and was able to stop it. You don’t need to be an athlete see the value in this type of device. Day to day routines, physical work or any kind of physical activity that gives you sore muscles this will help with. The accordion style soft rubber attachment also allows you to use this on sensitive areas like your neck.
The device comes with five different attachments that make it easy to target specific areas or get a deep tissue type of message. The device itself feels really nice and well balanced in the hand. It has a nice rubberized grip with an led light at the bottom that lets you know it’s on. When you’re using it the device is relatively quiet, with the sound meter on my watch it measured 66db on low, 67 to 69 on medium and 72 on high. The only thing I wish was included was a carrying case or bag, there’s one for the attachments but not the device itself. This would have been a plus also because they do include different charging plugs for other parts of the world if you travel overseas. Whether you’re an athlete, work a physical job or just someone who needs a good massage/stress relief, everyone can benefit from this device.

Look, I’ve walked past this product plenty of times. I know because I’ve always made strong eye contact with it but always denied its advances on me. Until recently where I had the opportunity to try it out. And I’m glad I did. As it blew my expectations out of the water. I’ve tried other massagers, light therapy devices, and have a hot tub. But this guy puts them all to shame.
First, I struggle with chronic left knee pain. Which has made building my left leg muscles difficult. As when I started to push my leg workouts hard my knee pain would become so overwhelming, I could barely walk making me back off for weeks while it recovered. Now, I can use this device after workouts and during flares and it will dramatically reduce my knee pain allowing me to continue my workouts and build muscle. Which in the long-term will lead to less knee pain. That alone makes it worth it.
Second, I occasionally get tension migraines. Recently, I felt a severe one coming on and spent about 20 minutes massaging those muscles and was almost able to completely avoid it. Which saved ruining my entire Sunday.
Third, I’ve been using this on sore muscles after workouts and in tight areas and it has made a dramatic difference. My muscles feel a lot less tight and more flexible, giving me increased range of motion, while also feeling a lot stronger, leading to a better workout. Which was something I was not expecting.
Forth, sometimes I don’t have the best posture, or I’ll injure myself just living life. This helps me get back to 100% faster and I’m in less pain while getting there.
So, what I’m trying to say is this is an easy recommendation for me. I wasn’t expecting it to work this well but am very pleased with the results. There was one reviewer here that said, “the only thing better is an actual massage” and I think that sentence sums this device up best.
    PROS:
    – Lightweight at 1.8 lbs.
    – TSA Approved for travel.
    – Three speed settings
    – Four heads to tailor for needs with soft case.
    – Charger comes with different country outlets.
    – Solid build quality
    – Light bar at the bottom of the device changes color (Green – yellow – red) to show where the battery is at.
    – Good battery life. I think they say 4-hour charge time from dead. But if you plug it in after each use it recharges quickly.
    – Hyperrice App has routines and can connect via Bluetooth for guided sessions.
    – QuietGlide Technology works well by being quiet enough I can watch TV without it distracting me.
    – As mentioned above, helps my muscles in multiple ways, allows me to have more effective workouts, helps me recover faster, and helps me be in less pain.
    CONS:
    – App can be better. Not super user friendly.
    – Guided sessions are limited for this device.
    – Guided sessions can be improved by explaining the why of things.
    – Having a single button to make the entire device work is frustrating.
    – To turn on/off the device you hold the power button. This same power button also cycles through the three speeds. Often, when I am trying to turn off the device, I’ll hold the power button which will then activate a speed. You then need to go through all three speeds to make it stop. I would prefer them having a dedicated on/off switch and a dedicated speed switch which works in both directions (faster and slower over going through 1 – 3 back to 1.)
    – Charge time can be long.

REVIEW HYPERICE – HYPERVOLT 2 PERCUSSION MASSAGE DEVICE – GREY
    Model:53200 038-00
    Best Buy Tech Insider Network
    PRO MASSAGER for SERIOUS PEOPLE
    SUMMARY:
This is not a toy massager it is a serious device for serious people. When connected to your phone via the HYPERICE APP and Bluetooth it is also a massage coach that guides you through step by step which attachment to use, where to apply the massager, for how long, etc. The app is really cool, I usually resist installing a million apps and making everything “connected” but this time it was worthwhile. It starts and stops the HYPERICE – HYPERVOLT 2 along with the video. If you need to switch attachments, just press pause on the app, and it stops the massager.
I recommend you take the time to learn how to use the device through the apps, and don’t make the mistake that I did. As the name implies this is a “PERCUSSION” device. If you just turn it on to max and press the massage head against you, you are pummeling your muscles and it will hurt and bruise. (Think Impact Driver).
Once I slowed down and followed the apps step by step it really made all the difference for me.
    PRO’s
    – Seems very sturdy
    – Includes Cord Adapters for use around the globe (travel)
    – Includes Travel Case to store attachments
    – 3 Speed Settings, plus Resistance monitor
    – Long Battery life
    – Helpful Battery Life Light
    SETUP
At first, I had some issues setting it up. Although there are plenty of “cute” cards included, they really don’t give you step by step help in setting it up, other than “charge it for 4 hours”. No QR code to take to you the app store. No printed guide about how to use it overall. So, I charged it overnight, and tried to use it (without the app or instructions). Besides me using it wrong and it hurting like heck, the batteries only lasted about 3 minutes. (The Battery Light Ring was at Green about 2 min, then went from yellow to Red in a minute). I think I found the problem, that if you have the charger plugged into the massager, but not the wall (for example if it came lose / unplugged) the charging light stays on and green until the battery is depleted. Finally, after another night of charging, I tried it again. This time I downloaded the app (manual search for HYPERICE in app store). I registered my device, but I could not find anywhere to “connect to Bluetooth” in any of the app menus. After some searching, I decided to start a video “routine” and then, at the start of the video routine, it automatically scans for the device before it starts the routine. From there everything worked as expected. You have to press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to make sure it turns off. (no light on the ring).
My main tip, if you are not familiar with this type of PERCUSSION massager is to hold it loosely (not like a drill), and let the attachments rub sideways, not head-on until you are more experienced.
    SUMMARY
I think the HYPERICE – HYPERVOLT 2 is a must have for hard core athletes and serious users that are intent on working certain muscle groups, pre and post workout. This is not a “gentle chair massager” at the mall. I look forward to adding it to my routine and gain a little more relief from muscle pain.

I get regular massages (like once every other week) to help destress and work tight muscles from both sitting at my desk all day and from various exercise (running and weights).
Impressed with how well this helps sore muscles and does it much faster than a 60 min massage. This is perfect for targeting any problem areas and I was impressed with how powerful it is.
The app is good and shows you how to use it with follow along videos for various target muscle groups. Also via Bluetooth it sets the vibration to match the muscles you’re working in the follow along routine that lasts just a few minutes. It also comes with a number of different attachments designed for different muscles and they are easy to swap out.
I’ve used other tools and massagers in the past, but they don’t come close to this.

I never owned one of these things before and I was kind of skeptical if they actually work. To my surprise they actually do. It is like having your own professional masseur but in the palm of your hand. To get the best out of this device you need to download the Hyperice app and pair the device with it. Within the app you can schedule different routines of massages that pertain to the type of workout you performed. Those routines will tell you which type of the body to massage, the type of tip you need on your device and the time needed for each section. Using this app reminds me of the peloton workouts. It will provide you with a video on how to perform the massage and where. The best part is that they are free. Also when you use the app the device will automatically adjust the speed accordingly to the routine provided.
This is why I claimed this thing does work. I am very active with exercises with callisthenic and a bit of weights . I also do a lot of outdoor cardio like running and biking. After doing some extensive cardio my legs were kind of sore. I follow the instructions on the app to massage my legs and pretty much my entire body including my hands, fingers and feets. To my surprise I felt very relaxed at the end. I felt so relaxed that I ended up going to sleep early and slept more than 8hrs. My legs were not sore anymore by the next day after I used this. Ever since then I now use this after every workout.
There is not much science to using this, just follow the instructions on the app and that’s about it. The grip of the device feels very nice and soft and it is not slippery or sticky. It is not heavy at all and is very easy to transition from one hand to the other. You can also use it by itself without the app if you wish. By pressing the power button you adjust the speed from three different levels. There are three light indicators that will light depending on the speed you’re using. This Hypervolt is wireless and the rechargeable battery is rated for 3 hours. That’s pretty much what it will take to fully recharge the battery too, is about 3 hours. On the bottom of the grip there’s a light indicator that will light green/red according to the battery level.
This thing is not just light and wireless, you can take it pretty much anywhere and everywhere. If you are a frequent traveler who travels Int’l a lot, they got you covered. Included with the device you have 4 different types of plug adapters that you can switch from to use with your charging brick. There are two things I have little gripe about, one is that it did not bring a carrying case. Two, in the routines it needs to add more time between sessions that would allow the user to switch heads without pausing the app. The 2 seconds in between is not enough. Overall this device is very light, quiet, easy to use and the best part it does what it is supposed to do and very well. In the box you get the Hyperbolt, 5 different massage heads, a pouch for the heads, charging brick and 4 plug adapters (1 US + 3 Int’l).

There are a variety of devices you can buy to help with muscle aches and for considerably less. However, the Hyperice Hypervolt 2 Massage Device goes further than any other device I’ve ever used. Even having a free companion app, which can be used to fully take advantage of every attachment with the use of your smartphone.
In the box you’ll find the Massage Device, five different attachments, a charger with attachments with different power plugs for international travel, and a case for the accessory attachments. The device has only one button for function, which can be pressed to set the speed, the device lights will indicate level of pressure applied, and the light on the handle will change color as the battery begins to drain. When power on, and paired to your smartphone with the app, you’ll unlock a variety of routines to help with recovery and even for relaxation.
While the smart app isn’t required, you’ll find the automated routines, with video guidance, easy to follow and provide you with a great understanding of how to use each attachment. The device will automatically start and end each routine, even able to react to the amount of pressure you apply to set the speed. Each routine will advise you of which attachment to use, how to move along your muscle for best results, and even recommends various routines based on your activity when paired to Apple Health, Strava, or a Garmin device. The App immediately detected when my Hypervolt was powered on, even offering to jump back into my most used routines.
Over the course of a month, I found myself using this more and more at the end of long workdays and to provide nighttime relief. All of this clearly had a benefit, as I found fewer and fewer instances of pain my lower back, shoulders, and even my feet! You don’t realize just how much stress you feel standing and walking around all day, until you get used to the satisfying massage provided by the device. Over time, I began understanding each of the attachments use, and would use the device throughout the day during breaks and my lunch period. Each attachment is easily removed and being installed with some slight pressure to lock it in place. You’ll notice a pop, as the attachments are held in place with tension and suction, with a cork removal like sound when you remove them. If you’re having trouble pushing them into place, you can use a flat surface and push the attachment into place with minimal pressure applied. Most attachments don’t require a specific orientation, with the fork attachment having a guiding notch for proper placement. I also appreciate the softer attachment for more sensitive areas, such as around your neck, which provide a softer feel without the uncontrollable vibration of the harder attachments. This was also the first massage device that provided the best relief around my knee, which has been a constant pain area since I injured it several years ago.
Overall, the device does more than any other Massage Device I’ve ever used and easily out shined any lower cost alternative I’ve ever used. While most of the marketing is geared toward active individuals, and athletes, you’ll find this works effectively even for those working from home or in an office where you stand or sit all day. The stress relief I’ve felt from just a month of use has made me more conscious of areas of stress on my body and having the Hypervolt has been a real game-changer for my nightly routines and lead to a better quality of life for me personally. Given the variety of functions you get from just this one device, and the companion app, I’d highly recommend the Hyperice Hypervolt!

Right off the bat, I had never owned any massage equipment or devices in the past until I decided to try this Hyperice Hypervolt 2. I needed a handheld massage device to use due to office-based work, and I have been experiencing lower back pain. Honestly, this handheld massage device works like magic; it helps reduce my lower back pain, and the other parts of my body feel sore-free, such as my legs, arms, and neck. The device weight is not too heavy and feels high quality, and the three-level pressure speeds gave me what I actually need to apply to the area of treatment. Easy to use with five head attachments that can be changed depending on which area I need to massage. Hyperice application on smartphones is full of guidance videos that show which attachment is used for every part of the body, and to take advantage of daily routine experience, I connected it to my iPhone via Bluetooth and gave my authorization to access the Health app on iPhone to receive my data of use daily. Very helpful, and I regret that I have not considered using this device in the past. The travel pouch is handy on the go and to store the message and accessories. Great machine and tangible results.
