Ticket to Ride is a cross-country train adventure game. Players collect train cards that enable them to claim railway routes connecting cities throughout North America. The longer the routes, the more points they earn. Additional points come to those who can fulfill their Destination Tickets by connecting two distant cities, and to the player who builds the longest continuous railway. So climb aboard for some railroading fun and adventure. You’ve got a Ticket to Ride! October 2, 1900 — it’s 28 years to the day that noted London eccentric, Phileas Fogg accepted and then won a 20,000 bet that he could travel Around the World in 80 Days. Now at the dawn of the century some old friends have gathered to celebrate Fogg’s impetuous and lucrative gamble — and to propose a new wager of their own. The stakes: $1 million in a winner-takes-all competition. The objective: to see the most cities in North America — in just 7 days. -Spiel Des Jahres 2004(German game of the year) -As d’Or Cannes 2004 (French game of the year) -Game of the year 2004 – Japan -Game of the year 2004 – Sweden -Game of the year 2004 – Finland -Diana Jones Excellence in Gaming Award 2004 -Origins Award Winner – Best Board Game 2005 -Game of the year 2004 – Spain -Parent’s Choice Foundation Silver Medal 2004Contents: 1 Board 240 Colored Train Cars 110 Train Car cards 30 Destination Tickets 5 Wooden Scoring Markers 1 Rules booklet .

Looked all over for this game at a reasonable price. After a long long search I realized I just had to buck up and shell out. Wish I hadn’t have waited as it is worth every penny. It is a good mix of strategy and luck in a format simple enough to allow the kids a fair chance. The 12 year old wants to play it as much as his video games and the 8 year old loves it too. This will be a family staple for years to come. Giddyup!

This is a fantastic family game. it simple enough for children to understand, yet parents can still be challenged. It isn’t a money game or one that requires reading, so even younger children can enjoy it without it becoming tires some. A game can last about 30-45 minutes, so you can play a few games at a setting.
This was a gift for our son’s 8th Birthday. We played it three times as a family before the kids went to bed an twice with just the adults after.
If you enjoy board games this is a must for your collection.

I played many board games as a kid and most of them came down to luck. You got stuck on one path where dice or a spinner would randomly decide you fate. Ticket to Ride is not one of those games. Players collect cards to claim routes, and longer routes get you more points. I love the fact that it is easy to learn (recommended ages 8+), but players still need to use strategy in order to win the game. You can try to complete routes to make your connected path longer, or you can claim routes that interfere with the routes that your opponents want to claim. Having more players also affects strategy, because you have to try and claim the routes you need as soon as possible.
Bottom line, I love this game and recommend it to everyone.

This is a fun game. Pieces are good quality. Everything has a place in the box so it’s not scattered all over the bottom of the box. Easy to set up and start a new game. Easy to learn the rules with plenty of strategy for the casual gamer.

My 14 year old son asked for this for Christmas. Five of us played and it only took a couple turns to figure it out. It took us about an hour and a half to connect our routes and get around the board.

I’ve played it before and showed it to a 12 year old young man out of Big Brothers and he routinely asks to play it again. Bought it on-line via Walmart as part of his Christmas gift for him and his family. The game was delivered in a timely manner, packaged with TONS of air bag cushioning. The price was the second cheapest found in my research and it became my first choice when you factor in the convenience of shopping and delivery. Very satisfied Customer!

I really like this game, but out of the box it is a bit complicated. I even watched a video and was still a bit confused. Once you play a few games it begins to make sense and is lot of fun. I would recommend playing with someone that is experienced the first time.

Love the game itself. Great critical thinking skills developed for upper elementary kids to adults. Interesting strategy game. 1 star because This version sold by Walmart has train cards that are Half the size of the normal playing cards as in the TTR Europe version we have or as in the same TTR that our children have. These train cards are so small that they’re difficult to shuffle and they don’t stack well during game play. Saved $6 buying at Walmart for a product we then set aside … because of the game card size. These are ridiculously small.

As an avid boardgamer most of my life, I can be picky about games. Ticket to Ride continues to be a great game for both new players and grizzled veterans alike.
My family plays it together on a weekly basis, and we love it! I recommend picking up the 1910 expansion as well!
