The Lodge Cast Iron 13.25-inch Skillet is a multi-functional cookware that works wonders with slow-cooking and all your favorite foods. Fry up a mess of catfish, roast a chicken, or bake an apple crisp in this generous 13.25” pan that features two handles for heavy lifting and two subtle side lips for pouring. Cast iron loves a campfire, a stovetop, or an oven, and can slow-cook foods without scorching. It retains heat well so you can sear meat at higher temperatures and will keep your delicious meals warm for a long time. Whether used in a kitchen or camp, theses virtually indestructible cookware should last for generations. Made of cast iron, this Skillet evenly distributes heat from the bottom through the sidewalls. It gives you a nearly non-stick surface, without the possible harmful fumes generated by preheating chemically treated nonstick cookware. The American-based company, Lodge, has been fine-tuning its construction of rugged, cast-iron cookware for more than a century.

By picking a large size pot, I was afraid that since it overlaps my biggest burner, it could have an uneven temperature all around. It didn’t. The cast iron kept the cooking even. Very well made, although it had some imperfections, common in this pieces. Will recommend to anybody willing to have a big frying pan.

I live in the real world many people in the house use the pans. Nobody knows how it happens it just happens everytime. This pan is wonderful it will never warp…..nothing sticks to it….. it has a huge base that fits my stove and on medium it cooks everything perfectly fried chicken has never ever finish so well. fish doesn’t stick ….eggs don’t stick and everything browns beautifully love this pan!!!!! I have two Lodge frying pans (the company calls them skillets), one that is 10-1/4 ” , which I use every day, and one that is 13-1/4″. Before I write about how great they are, I just want to warn anyone getting the 13-1/4″ pan that it’s heavy, but I can fit an impressive amount of food in it. I’d suggest considering the 12″ pan. Also, these pans are seasoned by the manufacturer so you don’t have to go through the time and trouble of doing it yourself. I cook on an electric stove, and the pan heats incredibly evenly using the lowest settings. My meals have been coming even better than before since using these pans (after the first meal I burned because I didn’t realize how well the cast iron conducts heat).

Have not used it yet ,but glad it has small 2 nd grasp handle as it will take two hands to move this around with food in it. Great size for big family meal. I wanted it to acquire a complete set of Lodge cast iron due to excellent durability and reputation and because it continued to be made in USA !

This pan is fantastic, however, when you first purchase it, make sure you season it at least once prior to use. To season, I have found a super thin coat of oil or grease and 450 oven works best. I personally use bacon grease on mine. Make sure the pan is completely dry (heat it in the oven for a few minutes) then apply the grease. Make sure it is a very thin coating with none puddled up. If the grease/oil is too thick, you will have sticky/gummy spots on your pan. Place it in the oven, once the temp reaches 450, let it “cook” for 1 hour. Turn the oven off and allow the pan to cool in the oven with the door closed for several hours (overnight). The more often you do this, the better it gets. Nothing will stick to it if you use it properly and keep it well seasoned.

LOVE it! Definitely a great size. It’s heavy but not TOO heavy. Love that it has a little “spout” on the side. This skillet is used a lot in my house. I love how evenly it cooks and it comes pre-seasoned. We’ve had it for 4 months and have used it a lot. It wipes clean and hasn’t started rusting. Hope to pass on to my grand children someday. So glad to support American companies manufacturing great products! I have one in a smaller size which I use a lot too.

The best cast iron skillet around. The 13.25″ is large enough for any cooking. Even I also have 10″ and 12″ skillets the 13.25″ is the one I pulled out for great steak searing. The 13.25″ has too much mass that it retains so much heat that will still sizzle the other size of a big thick steak when it is flipped. I seasoned it a couple of times in my kitchen oven and took every opportunity to cook on it. It has become very non-stick. The pros: great heat retention, large cooking surface, non-stick. The cons: very heavy, take patience/time to bring it up to temperature, despite what you were told, cast iron does not distribute heat evenly so you want to move the skillet around the stove to give it a even temperature.

Excellent pan. Super speedy delivery. The Walmart lodge pan was perfect. I ordered from another major vendor who supplied a second that did not arrive quickly.
