I love this dryer. I have a Dyson hair dryer already and this matches it and then some. I have two daughters with long thick hair, so a second high quality dryer was on my list. I was very impressed with the performance of the attachments. The styling attachment is convenient because I can work with both hands on the dryer, and not a brush and dryer to coordinate. The attachment can rotate 360° and that helps as you move to different areas. I have used it after a shower with a wet head. Started with the prestyle attachment, got to a light dampness and the switched to the styling attachment. It takes me about 2-3 minutes and my layers are all beautifully curled under with such a quick and simple attachment. When I use my other dryer, it takes much longer and is not as well rolled under since it’s a dryer pointing at a brush verses it emitting the heat and air from inside the brush. The other nice thing is that if my hair contacts the suction area, it does not go in. The mesh protects it. That mesh, however, does need to be brushed over with the cleaning tool to brush off dust that readily gets sucked up. The quality of the hair afterwards is noticeably shinier and smoother than my other dryer too.

The Shark Hyper Air touts that is dries as fast as the Dyson. I don’t have the Dyson to compare it to – but it definitely dries faster than my previous hair dryer. It also is quieter than my previous dryer. It combines heated air and ionized air which is supposed to not leave heat damage, increase smoothness & shine, decrease frizz & flyaways. I have curly hair and loath straitening my hair because of the time it takes to dry my hair. The Shark Hyper Air definitely reduced the amount of time to dry my hair. I was able to find instructions on how to use the 2-in-1 concentrator, styling brush, and how to clean it by scanning the QR code inside the box and watching some videos. I look forward to being able to purchase the diffuser to add to my collection.

I have been impressed with Shark products, so when I got the opportunity to test this hairdryer, I jumped at it, even though I haven’t blow dried my hair since the spring. In cooler months I like to blow dry my hair, and we aren’t there yet in my neck of the woods, but dang, my hair is nice since I started using this Shark dryer. Whenever I walk by a mirror I have to do a double take because my hair actually looks nice for a change. This Shark HyperAir blow dryer is very similar to my Dyson Supersonic, so I’m in an interesting position to compare the two. Form-wise, the Shark is almost the same size and shape as the Dyson. I like the case material of the Shark better, it feels better in my hand. Also my Dyson is about four years old, and the exterior feels sort of sticky, which shouldn’t be happening, but I haven’t really used it in a while, so who knows.
My hair is type 1A, straight as a stick, and coarse, Japanese hair, and it’s medium length and density, which is to the middle of my back. My objective when drying my hair is to have sleek hair, it can get sort of frizzy if I don’t dry it. I have been using a microfiber hair wrap shortly after I get out of the shower to help sop up the wetness from washing, and after about a half hour of wearing that, my hair is ready for blow drying. It’s still plenty wet, just not dripping wet. This Shark hair dryer has three levels of fan speed and three levels of heat, which are easily adjustable on the back of the unit. I have been using the dryer without attachments at first to get my hair about 80% dry. After that I use the included styling brush attachment, and use that like you would a blow styling brush. To finish off the look I use the 2 in 1 concentrator, to get certain parts of my hair going in the right direction. All said and done, my hair is dry and styled in about five minutes, which is way better than with a regular hair dryer, but about the same as the Dyson. There is a curly hair attachment that didn’t come with my unit, which is called a curl-defining diffuser, and another attachment called an IQ Air Wave, which I didn’t get either but looks pretty neat by making waves. I’m not sure if my hair would hold the waves anyway. One thing I noticed with the attachments, they aren’t super hot after using the dryer, I can take them off without almost burning my hand, which is nice.
This dryer also has a cool shot button, which I love. I use that at the end to cool off my hair and head from all of the heat. The cord length is plenty long for this dryer, and the plug is easy to plug into the wall socket and to remove it, unlike the Dyson. Also included was a small brush with hook, I’m not 100% sure how to use it, but I think it would get the hair that’s caught in the brush attachment and get the dust off of the back of the dryer, it’s a nice touch. The hair dryer is an average weight for its size, I wouldn’t say it feels heavy or light, but just right. For the MSRP of about $230, I think this is a really nice and upgraded hair dryer. It would make a great gift also!

I’ve been using this for about a week and it’s still taking me some time to get used to. It’s super sleek and comes with a concentrator and styling brush tool. I’ve mainly been using the concentrator tools (there’s 2 ‘modes’ on the tool itself, one for precision and one for pre-styling) and it works pretty well. My hair seems a little smoother and isn’t as frizzy. It drys my hair fast, but not faster than any other hairdryer I’ve used. I have thinner, shoulder-length hair, so either way, it takes my hair at most 10 minutes to completely dry. I will say so far I don’t seem to see any signs of heat damage, which is the biggest thing I cared about. I’ve been trying to cut the amount of damage I do to my hair, so I have high hopes for this hairdryer in that manner.
I’ve tried using the styling brush a few times, but it’s taking me longer to learn how to use it for my hair. I think maybe it’s because of the length and texture of my hair. I really do like the tool though. It seems when used properly it can give you a lot more volume and tame even further any frizziness you have.
When using any styling tool you can switch between 3 heat settings and 3 airflow settings. It also adjusts to a setting recommendation when you change the tool, or you can adjust the settings to your preference.
I think the biggest “con” to this product is the high-pitch whistling noise it makes when it’s being used. It startled me the first time I used it. It’s def. not a normal hairdryer noise. I’m used to it now, but I still don’t love the noise.

The Shark® Hyper Air with IQ 2-in-1 Concentrator and IQ Styling Brush has been very good so far for me. Just like so many, I go get my hair cut, colored, and styled every 6 weeks or so and we like our do then, but cannot then recreate it on our own. Well, this dryer with multiple attachments can help you do the do with less heat and wear and tear on your hair.
So, this product contains 2 of the 4 available attachments, that I know about, the air concentrator and the styling brush. It is recommended to first towel dry your hair and then use the air concentrator with it in that allows more airflow to start drying your hair and then you move the adjustment that makes it come out and which then targets airflow to a more specific area. I then attach the styling brush which can be used either vertically or horizontally, really like that. There are 2 other attachments, the air diffuser and the waver that are available for separate purchase. This hair dryer, based on which attachment is clicked onto the body, and make sure that you hear it “click” on because only when that is done the IQ letters on the back of the dryer will then light up to let the user know that the attachment is properly attached and operational. Each of the attachments has predetermined setting for the the airflow and temperature settings for the best results. However, one can also manually change this preset setting if they feel that some other settings would be better for them.
The unit is lightweight and easily handled by small hands. Additionally, if you use the scan bar, either on the manuals or the cardboard insert, that will get you to Shark’s You Tube Videos explaining the contents, as well as, how to’s on how to style one’s hair. while using this machine. I did watch the videos and in fact, they had a man with short hair show both men and women with similar lengths on how to their hair, too.
In my case, I am a 62 year old and styling my hair is not my greatest strength. I prefer to have smooth hair with height at the roots and curved under at the ends, oftentimes using either curlers or those round brush “perfecter” style heated utensils to achieve those results. I do not have very curly hair so the purchasing the diffuser and putting it into the diffuser for drying does not thrill me, but i might look into buying one of those air hair wavers going forward, we will see. Bottom line, I have only used this machine a few times since receiving it because I do not wash my hair more than 2 or 3 times per week. However, I do like my “smooth” hair with slight curl at the end-it looks good and feels good. Additionally, I feel that the pricing is much better than the one made by the D company.

I just received a new Shark HyperAir hair dryer and IQ Styling Brush, and after using it for the past few days I believe that it is going to be my new best friend. My hair looks great and was dried in a fraction of the time it normally takes. Healthy, easy styling is a girl’s best friend especially when it is a daily chore and has been for decades.
The product is designed around Shark’s new technology that intelligently combines High-Velocity Heated Air & Ionized Air and delivers ultra-fast drying that leaves my hair with limited heat damage. The combination of the Ionized Air increases smoothness and shine while decreasing frizz and fly-away strands of hair. The unit is very light weight and when in full operation, is still very quiet. The controls are strategically placed for ease with an On/Off control at the rear of the handle along with a Temperature Control with 3 speeds and an Airflow with three speeds also on the rear. There is a Cool Shot button on the face of the handle to lock in a style with a blast of cool air.
The HyperAir is designed to be used with its four (4) IQ Styling attachments, two are included with the purchase of the hair dryer. The IQ 2-in-1 Concentrator is very adjustable and allows for precision from pre-styling to precise definition. The IQ Styling Brush attaches perpendicular to the air flow of the unit and rotates 360 degrees so that it can easily be used either horizontally or vertically. The Styling Brush is manufactured with a combination of smoothing boar bristles and plastic tipped bristles which when combined promotes healthy hair and facilitates styling ease.
In addition to the two attachments that come with the unit, two (2) other IQ Styling devices can be purchased separately. They include an IQ Curling Diffuser and an IQ AirWave which dries longer strands of hair in a restricted chamber and makes longer lasting waves with a whole lot less heat than it normally takes to do the same. The HyperAir uses the technology PID intelligent heat control to measure outlet heat up to 1,000 times per second. This technology is the key to the most wonderful attributes of this hair dryer – consistent heat and air distribution. Another impressive feature is that the IQ Styler attachments are designed with dual optical sensors that recognize the stylers and intelligently set heat & airflow for faster styling.
The unit comes with a 2-year limited warranty and is basically maintenance free because it even has an air filter that is equipped with an integrated lifetime filter that doesn’t need to be removed or replace. It just needs to be cleaned and the product is designed so that the filter can be easily cleaned.
I have had some high-end hair dryers, including the one that this one is often compared to, but this retails for ½ the cost of that product and is just as effective with easier to use attachments. It is a very good hair dryer and is designed exceptionally well. I would not hesitate to recommend it personally to anyone. It is well worth the investment if you have to get up every morning and style your hair before going out the door.

I have been looking for a hairdryer for my daughter to support multiple styling brush attachments and got Shark HyperAir with IQ 2-in-1 Concentrator and IQ Styling Brush. It came with Shark HyperAir, IQ 2-in-1 Concentrator, IQ Styling Brush, Small Cleaning Brush. It has a modern design and is very lightweight. This dryer has built-in features and additional attachments like a Curl-Defining diffuser that can be purchased on the Shark website.
The Ultra-fast drying really works with the HyperAir IQ technology providing high velocity and ionized air without any damage to the hair due to the heat. The Intelligent heat control is a great feature that measures outlet heat up to 1,000 times per second, ensuring consistent temperature and air distribution. The Auto optimized heat and airflow settings allow the hair to last long for a full day.
The buttons are on the top of the dryer and easy to adjust the airflow and heat output with led lights. The dryer is powerful to dry the hair quickly. The attachment IQ 2-In-1 Concentrator is very easy to attach and allows to dry and share the hair very easily. The IQ styling brush allows to dry hair quickly and help to straighten the hair. My daughter is using only this dryer now and her hair is very smooth and straight.
I was very impressed with the results of this dryer compared to the old dryers we were using at home. It comes with 5 years manufacturer warranty and Shark has been the industry leader for making solid Vaccum cleaning products and HyperAir with IQ 2-in-1 Concentrator and IQ Styling Brush is another amazing product from Shark.

To start of, I have thick, uneven (if this makes sense) wavy, frizzy hair. Styling my hair has become too cumbersome that when it comes to drying my hair, I’d say forget about it and just put my hair in a bun and done, unless it’s a special occasion then I would spend the time it needs to be properly styled. My hair is about 15 inches long right now and drying it usually takes me half an hour and ironing it another half. With additional styling, I’ll be done in about 1.25 hours. I’ve never thought of upgrading my hairdryer and I’ve only looked into getting better hair straightening iron brands. Now that my trusty Revlon hairdryer is nearing its retirement age, I tried exploring other brands. I wouldn’t have thought of getting something more than a hundred dollars since c’mon it’s only a hairdryer, what type of high technology can it provide me but just dry my hair, right? Anyway, I chose this one because of the promise of ultra fast drying.
I started using this right out of the box without even reading the instructions on how to operate it. However, I found the design and buttons to be pretty intuitive. I attached the styling brush – this is the attachment I’m most excited about because of the convenience of not needing to hold a brush with your other hand. I plugged the dryer, turned it on and set to the highest heat and speed setting and started brushing my hair. The air that comes out may feel like it’s not giving out that much air and speed so I kinde had my doubts of it’s power to dry my thick, unruly hair. But I continued brushing, without parting my hair into thinner sections because I want to see it’s power. After 10 minutes (YES 10!), my hair is dry and mostly straightened! Ohmygoodness! I was so excited that I ran outside the bathroom to show it to my husband. Needless to say, I was so shocked and ecstatic that my hair has finally found its match! With this, I no longer need a separate hair brush and straightening iron. I no longer dread drying my hair. If I need to bring up a negative, it would be its weight. I found that I had to switch between hands for a few times throughout the 10 mins of drying time because holding it for a while wears my arm. However for what it does to my hair, and for the ultra fast drying time, this hairdryer is so worth the money. Needless to say, I highly recommend it.
