Good buy. We enjoyed the food we cooked. Temperature is very good and comes handy. My problem now is how to clean. But really it is good to have like this. Very convenient. HAPPY CAMPERS

This is the 3rd one I’ve purchased. It sits outside unprotected from the winter and usually lasts about
3 years before rust starts being a problem. It rains a lot here in the Pacific Northwest.
They work absolutely Great, and at $10 a year cost, it cant be beat!! This particular unit cooks
dead even across the whole grill, no hot or cold spots. I’m impressed, the last two were slightly uneven
in heat distribution, but not problematic. Grilled chicken and sausage most every night during good weather,
    I love this little guy.

This review has been changed (even worse) since talking to Char-Broil Customer service on 5/10/21.

Was a Xmas gift from my wife. Since it was winter, didn’t start using it until March when the weather was more appropriate. By this time the 30 day product return window closed. Have had consistent issues with propane gas regulator. Sound like gas is sputtering. Oftentimes the flame goes out. Even when it works, doesn’t seem to have good heat distribution or temperature control.

Spent over 1 hour on hold and talking to a Customer Service Rep. She was very polite but had to confer with someone else. She did try to troubleshoot it and came to the opinion it was a gas regulator issue (same thing I told her it was at beginning of our call). The answer was that they couldn’t & wouldn’t do anything because it was outside the 30 day return window. However, she pointed out I could purchase a $19 replacement regulator. The entire grill cost less than $34. I thanked the Customer Service Rep for her professionalism and politeness. I did ask her to relay to her boss my sentiments which were stated very politely. Those sentiments are I find it very foolish to risk a scathing product review for either a $19 replacement part or even $34 to replace grill.

Moral to the story…… Do not buy a seasonal gift when it’s the off season from when it is used. By the time product is actually used, you’re beyond the return window. While other vendors may handle that situation differently, Char-Broil would rather hurt their product performance reputation than deal with the issue and make common sense customer service decisions. That’s a shame

I have had this thing for 5 years. 5. Years. It is definitely worth every penny. We have used this so many times and it is the perfect size to take up the mountain to grill or even to cook a fairly large amount of food at home. Love that I can hook it up to propane instead of messing with charcoal. It’s just perfect for using in everyday life. It’s small enough that it’s actually feasible to take it on the go and is reliable and cooks great. We have a big barbecue and a smoker and yet this little grill is our go to because it’s so low fuss

Bought with damaged box. Less than half price. All parts there. Owned one 20 years ago. Perfect for camping. Tip: split a chicken in half and cook for at least two hours. Salt & Pepper…. yum yum drool drool. Stored in a garbage bag when transporting. Char Broil is great! Okay after playing the damned thing it runs too hot with the lid on! I’ve tried choking fuel flow and I could still cremate my long dead Mother. Spoke with Char Broil and they admit the thing runs hot… the solution is to cook with the lid off the regulator will handle the job quite well! So that’s what I’m doing a good grill every time PS: Using an adaptor for a 20lb. bottle and ceramic tiles to retain heat! Just a tip…..

Exactly what I was looking for, small portable grill for my balcony that gets hot. It does seem to get hotter on the right side, just have to rotate whatever you’re grilling. For the price I don’t think you can find anything better. Definitely recommend it.

Had a scheduled trip and forgot that our previous grill had bit the dust. Needed something quick and knew Amazon could have it waiting at our destination before we could get there. For the price, I wasn’t expecting much at all. I just wanted to be able to grill for 2 weeks and if that is all it lasted for, I would be happy. Imagine my surprise at how well thought out the design of this grill was. Assembly was easy, it literally took 6 minutes. I let it heat up for the first time at medium heat for 8 minutes with the lid on and the new smell burn off went away. It cooked my chicken exactly like my Char-Broil 4 burner gas grill at home. Color me impressed.

I’ve owned this product SEVERAL times before, it wears out about every 2nd year (it’s a portable, not meant to last longer than that really), could no longer buy it locally (dunno why)… way more expensive to order direct from manufacturer so ordered it here… Love it. Came as promised, in great condition, super easy to assemble and works great. Will order this again from same vendor when this one wears out (like they always do). Definitely a recommend.

At the first time using the grill it’s very hard to see whether the flame is on, but I can feel the heat so OK. Then the flame went out three or four times during the first 15min of use.

Also Legs are too short for the 1lb propane cylinder

This grill was excellent for our small balcony, it lit up perfect and the put together was very easy, we love it… We recommend to have handy at home, used daily sometimes so the home does not smell and save electricity; very good product

Here’s what I have to say: the instructions say to assemble it then run it for 15 minutes of high flame to “burn off” any residue inside the unit. DO NOT DO THAT!!!!! I followed the instructions to the letter and here’s what happened: after 15 minutes it wasn’t smoking or smelling anymore, so I figured it was good to go. I could not have been more wrong. I put a nice $10 steak in there, put the lid on, and 5 minutes later raised the lid to see a soot-covered inedible piece of meat. GRRRRRRRRR After it cooled down, I disassembled it, took it inside and scrubbed the beejezus out of it with 2 Brillo pads. Rivers of black soot filled my sink. So here’s what I suggest: before assembling it, scrub the beejezus out of it, let it air dry, then proceed with the assembly and the 15 minutes of flame to burn off anything your scrubbing missed. I will say the assembly was a breeze; the assembly pieces were all marked nicely, the instructions were clear and easy. Altogether it took, oh, 15 minutes, and that’s because I’m a slowpoke. Another thing I’d like to mention, is the webpage helpfully shows a 2-pack of 1lb propane bottles, but if you bought the adapter hose, it doesn’t fit the 1lb propane bottles. It fits a 18″ tall 4 1/2 gallon propane bottle which will cost approx. $40 to buy the bottle and propane. SURPRISE

I just purchased my second of these grills – lost the regulator on a camping trip, and the cost was so reasonable, I figured I would just replace the whole thing, rather than search online for a replacement. This is a GREAT little grill. It fits right on the tongue of my teardrop camper for hauling, lights easily, burns evenly, and holds a TON of meat! I am a bit puzzled by those who panned it for being flimsy, because for the price, it’s amazingly sturdy. Legs are NOT wobbly once you set them properly, and it is much easier to light than a larger grill I use at home. I was a little alarmed the first time I used it, because there is an air vent between the grill and the regulator – sometimes it sounds like a tiny jet engine trying to take off, but that’s just the propane mixing with air. I love this little grill for camping or tailgating. Mourning the loss of the first one, but looking forward to getting the new one next week!
