I ended up going a different route than the Roku for unassociated reasons. It did what it said it would and worked flawlessly. Can’t give it 5 stars because I just did not use it long enough to comment on longivity or a lot of the apps and features. One thing…I did not like having to give them my credit card number to install, but I understand that if you search the internet, you can find work arounds for that.

Let me start by saying I own the Apple 4K TV and the Nvidia Shield Pro and without a doubt this is the best streaming player out there!! The Apple TV works well but doesn’t pass through Dolby Digital Plus without converting it to PCM which takes a hit on audio quality, Atmos sounds fine, Nvidia Shield Pro can’t match frame rate and stutters all the time which is terribly annoying, but the Roku Ultra plays everything perfect and smooth as silk and passes the audio straight through and the picture is absolutely stunning through this box!! Save your money and get this you will not be disappointed!!

Dts x and dolby truhd and dts hd master audio is not working.

Top of the line Roku with 4K video, great frame rates and multiple sound output formats.
Easy to use remote with headphone plug to listen without disturbing others. My fifth purchase of the identical item.

We purchased five Roku media streaming devices to replace the cable boxes on TVs which are seldom used. They were very easy to install and navigate the menu.
We kept one Comcast xFinity x-1 box on our main tv. All of our channels and recorded shows on the X-1 can be viewed on any of the TVs.
We should have investigated adding Roku boxes years ago. Our investment will be paid for in less than six months.

This unit is excellent for streaming. It has great streaming power both wired and wireless. I also have the previous version and it is still great. This unit got me to cut the cord on cable tv and enjoy great viewing for a lot less money than cable. I highly recommend the Roku Ultra for anyone looking to cut cable costs
