    Contents:
Hand blender with stainless steel adapter
    Measuring cup with lid
    Rubber guard
    Manual
It’s Easy to put together, take apart and clean. lightweight.
I have never used a handheld immersion blender before so I tried using it a few ways. I was able to review the KitchenAid handheld blender after using it to make milkshakes, mashed potatoes, and puréed soup.
•Puréed soup- trying to blend in the sauté pan was difficult because as I lifted the blender more than 1/2 inch off the pan the soup would splatter. I suggest a pan with higher sides or transferring out
the pan which seems like a hassle because of adding more dishes to clean.
•Milkshake- using the cup provided I assumed it would be cleaner. The ice cream would get stuck above the immersed part of the blender and not get blended. Maybe I just need a little practice, but if I’m making more than one milkshakes I’ll stick to my full size KitchenAid blender.
•Mashed potatoes- I felt in control using the KitchenAid handheld blender to mix the potatoes. I was able to let it do the work and it was the right consistency because of the variable speed trigger. To be honest it was instant potatoes. I did not use the handheld blender on actual potatoes so results might differ.

    Quality:
I’m always impressed with the quality of KitchenAid products. Most of my countertop appliances are KitchenAid because of quality and aesthetic appearance.
This is a new addition to my KitchenAid appliances and can easily be stored away until I need to use it. I plan to use it on a few other recipes and see if it make my kitchen time easier with little to clean up. Like I mentioned earlier I’ve never used a hand blender before this and I’m sure I will get better using it over time.

If you’ve never used a hand blender before, it might seem wholly unnecessary or like an extravagance – until you use it. I call them immersion blenders and they have become widely available now and recipes that use them abound. On the fancy end of the spectrum are homemade Hollandaise sauce or mayonnaise in literally a couple minutes. On the incredible utilitarian end is pureeing soups in the pot while they are cooking. Also great for milkshakes, smoothies, and baby food.
These devices operate like handheld reverse blenders – the blending mechanism (indistinguishable from one at the bottom of a standard blender) is used from above what you are blending – the angle and movement of the blending wand draws what you are blending through the device.
The actual blending wand twists off the motor for easy and safer cleaning (it cannot be cleaned in the dishwasher!). The corded motor is plenty strong for just about any non-commercial use.
A single button initiates the motor and controls the speed of the blender – it’s simple, intuitive, and easy to understand and operate.
There are no recipes included – but there is an internet full of them.
It comes with a three-cup blending jar with lid – for smaller tasks , a somewhat narrow enclosure forces the fluid to cycle and blend very quickly. The plastic jar and lid are dishwasher-safe.
A curious inclusion here is a plastic device they call a pan guard – it snaps on the bottom of the blending mechanism to prevent the metal edge from scratching the bottom of you metal pans (see picture). A great little detail from KitchenAid.

When I think Kitchen Aid, I think quality. I’ve owned many Kitchen Aid appliances throughout the years and they don’t fall short of amazing. The quality is 100% and this hand mixer is no different. I love how you can feel the high-quality materials when you hold it in your hand. If I could, I would have ALL Kitchen Aid appliances in my home.

I’ve never owned a hand mixer, but the number one thing I love about this mixer is, its very basic. Basic means easy. And don’t be fooled, basic does not mean sub-par functionality by no means. When I say basic, I mean, there are no manual dial settings or manual speed settings at all. The speed control is all in the trigger. The more you squeeze the trigger, the faster the mixer spins. Everything from the blades to the body to the cord are high quality. I love making myself a smoothie every now and then. Or a personal frozen drink. This mixer does a wonderful job. Why break out the big blender if all you want to do is make single drink or smoothie. I love it.
I give it 5 stars, its easy to use, easy to clean, and easy to store. It’s a small footprint appliance that packs a large punch! Great job Kitchen Aid! I am so glad I added this to my kitchen arsenal.

A GOOD UPGRADE TO A GREAT PRODUCT
REVIEW: KitchenAid – Hand Blender – Ink Blue
    Best Buy Tech Insider Network
    SUMMARY:
We had an older model KitchenAid Hand Blender that we have enjoyed for years. The latest model is a nice upgrade with a variable speed trigger to allow for fine control over speed without fussing with other controls. The optionally attached pan protector makes a lot of sense as well. The older version seemed to have a more powerful top speed, although we rarely used it. Once you get used to the variable speed it was a pleasure to use and it helps prevent splashing.
I would recommend this for anyone in the market for a hand powered immersion blender.
    UNBOXING: (see picture)
    INITIAL IMPRESSIONS:
Very well packaged. Seems like a quality product that is well made, very sturdy, well balanced.
    USING THE UNIT:
Worked well on Soup, Smoothies, Shakes, Steamed Vegetables, Salad Dressing, and more.
    BEST FEATURES:
    Variable Speed Trigger
    Pan Guard Protector
    SUMMARY:
As a retired professional chef, no kitchen is complete without an immersion blender, and this KitchenAid is well made solid unit. It will make you a better all around cook.

    >> Summary
The KitchenAid feels very solid and well-constructed, a hand blender that looks destined for everyday use. The blending arm is metallic, and it is easy to clean. This package comes with a pan guard that you can attach to the metallic end of the blender if you worry about damaging your pan when blending. The variable speed feature makes it easy to blend different concoctions, from very coarse or with big chunks of organic material, to a very fine substance. Not very much else to say, it does its job.
    – Pros: easy to move around, easy to clean, variable speed, very effective blending.
    – Cons: a little too big (well it looks like it is the standard hand-blender size).
    >> Contents in the package
    It comes with:
    – the hand blender in two pieces to be assembled.
    – a pan guard.
    – a blending jar.
    >> Blending
We use this hand blender for blending most of our sauces, smoothies and soups now. Although it is a hand blender, and it would seem that the amount of substance to blend has to be small, we have used it for blending soups/creams up to about a gallon. So, this device can tackle bigger jobs.
I love the variable speed feature of the KitchenAid hand mixed, the harder you push the button the faster it rotates, so it is very intuitive to use.
We look forward to using this hand blender frequently.
    >> Other thoughts
I’ve owned a couple of other hand blenders, and it looks like they had a similar size and weight to this KitchenAid. I am not sure if there is a standard size and weight for a hand blender, but I wished this was a little smaller and lighter (perhaps not much that can be done if there are physical design constraints).
I wish that it came with a mixer attachment or adapter. I had another hand blender that came with one, and it made our life easier working in the kitchen. I did some research online, and it looks like there are other KitchenAid models that come with the mixer; just consider this when contemplating buying this product.
I do not really use the blending jar. I got used to blend in big cups, pans, etc.

I have used different brands of blenders and KitchenAid – Hand Blender – Ink Blue Blender is a very compact and stylish look. It came with a KitchenAid blender, Stainless steel hand blender arm (20.3 cm), Pan guard, and Beaker (700 ml) with lid. It blends milkshakes, smoothies, soups, and sauces. The removable 8-inch stainless steel blending arm with a variable speed trigger delivers quality output. The 3-cup BPA-free blending jar is a nice add-on to store smoothies for later use. 5′ power cord is the perfect size to use it in a flexible range.
For blending, Insert the Hand Blender into the mixture. Press the Variable speed controller to start. Use your free hand to cover the top of the blending jar for better stability and avoid splashing. It blends fruits, vegetables, and shakes very nicely. With 180 watts power, it blends tough ingredients to get perfect shakes and juices. The blender is very easy to use with one touch and very easy to clean and it is dishwasher safe as well. I have been using this every day to make shakes and juices. I am impressed with the outcome of shakes and juices and highly recommend to everyone.

I am truly blown away by the power of this hand mixer. KitchenAid has brought true quality and convenience to a kitchen gadget that is often taken for granted.
The mixer has no problem pulverizing small pieces of ice into snow, but it is limited by what can fit into the blade’s housing. This means that for smoothies, frozen strawberries (or other large frozen fruits) must first be cut into smaller pieces before they are blended up. If ice is added, crushed ice is best. But, if the blade can reach it – it will be chopped up with ease.
The shape of the blade (along with the strategic housing windows) actually pulls liquid in towards the blade which helps to blend effectively. This is a tremendous help with blending soups and sauces. And to help protect non-stick pans from being scratched, the mixer comes with a protective guard that clips over the end of the tool. The scratch guard doesn’t have a particularly snug fit, but it serves its intended purpose and is an nice addition.
I love that KitchenAid pays attention to the finer details. For example, the base/motor is designed to attach to the lower blending rod in nearly any position (see attached pictures). You don’t need to rotate to find a specific latching position, simply slide the rod up and lightly twist an it always pops securely into place.
The only pain point is the weight and that the trigger must be held down to provide power to the blade. If you have a lot of blending to do, you’ll need to build up some hand and forearm strength. I do like being able to regulate the speed/power by adjusting how far I squeeze the “trigger”, but it would be nice to be able to lock it into place so that it stays on without the need for the user to continually squeeze – But, I understand that this may be dangerous.
Overall this exceeded every one of my expectations. I even love the mixing cup that comes with the device. It has a small rubber ring in the base that barely protrudes from the bottom, but does a spectacular job at ensuring the bottom of the cup doesn’t slip while it is in use. I absolutely recommend this hand mixer! It is absolutely excellent for shakes, smoothies, sauces, and soups!

This KitchenAid corded Hand Blender blends makes quick work of anything you need to blend, mix or puree.
The variable speed trigger gives you precise control over mixing speed. The removeable 8-inch (20.3 cm) blending arm has a 4-point stainless steel blade and it is easy to clean.
When assembled the blender is about 16 inches long, balanced and easy to control. The corded hand blender is about 9 ½” inches long without the blending arm making it easy to store.
The “bell” around the 4-point blade protects the bottom and sides of containers from the blades. Use the included pan guard to protect non-stick pots and pans from the edges of the “bell”.
The included 3-cup (700 ml) BPA-free Jar with Lid is the perfect size for fresh home-made pizza sauce, scrambled eggs/omelets, quick smoothie, shake or blended drink.
This is replacing our old 2-speed hand blender with way too much plastic in the blending arm and flimsy blades. We really love the variable speed control, easy to clean metal blending arm and stonger 4-point blade on this KitchenAid model.
