I have never used a fitness roller before this one. With that said I want to say that it actually works.. or i think. This vibrating roller is able to target problem area in which i need to work on during my work out. This is achieved 2 days. First the density of the roller is firm, this allows me to put full body weight on it while stretching. The second way this roller assists in my workout is b vibration, it has 3 setting which range from heavy to extreme (in my opinion). There really isint a light vibrations setting. Never the less, when i want to get to the deep tissue i need the extreme setting. All settings of vibration are controlled by a toggle on the side of the unit.
The only minor setback is the noise this creates, its nothing too alarming, but all in all its a bit louder than i had expected. It makes it hard for me to concentrate or have a conversations.
All in all, noise aside, a very solid performing roller.

My wife and I had been looking for something like this for a while to help with warming up and, more importantly, helping with easing our tired muscles after a good, long workout. So when I saw the Hyperice I was intrigued and then after reading further reviews I decided to go ahead and get it and hope that it worked as advertised. When I first received the Hyperice I thought I had mistakenly got a speaker! I had seen it online prior to ordering but seeing it in person it still really reminded me of a large speaker. Our first opportunity to use it meant we had to charge it. It said it required a 12 hour charge right out of the gate but it didn’t look like it needed it. We charged it overnight anyways.
Using the Hyperice for the first time was pretty intense. We had to use the enclosed instructions to look to see how we should be using it and seeing if we were using it right. For the first few days we just used it on the lowest setting before finally graduating to the medium setting. I don’t think we’ll be using the highest anytime soon but it’s nice to know there’s another level if we want to go up. Now how does it do? For warming up it does get the blood flowing and my wife and I both liked it for that purpose. But the best part really is soothing and massaging your tired muscles, like calves, when you’re done. My wife complained a little that the thing moved around due to the intense vibrations but I didn’t really have too much of a problem and I think she’ll get used to it.
It has worked extremely well to give us some help warming up and a post-workout relief and for that reason I’d highly recommend. The cons are, of course as mentioned price, it’s a bit loud and can, if you don’t control it, move around a bit much on the floor.

Love this product. It is a foam roller that vibrates and massages you. When I first bought this I was a bit skeptical about it especially because it was kind of pricy for a foam roller. After using it a few times I feel in love. Just make sure you use it on carpet. If you use it on laminated floor or wood it is very loud. If you live in apartments be mindful of your neighbors below you.

The Hyperice Vyper 2.0 is just okay. For me, it’s a combination of two useful tools that might not need to exist, at least not at this price point. Similar products with favorable features can be found for less than half of the price of the Vyper 2.0. Additionally, a quality, separate vibrating massager with far more features and a separate, more feature-rich roller could be purchased together for just over one third of the price of this device. For traveling or for stuffing in a gym bag, I see the value on combining the two tools into one. And, it isn’t that this device lacks function or is generally poor; it works and it does what it promises to do. But, it does so with a feature set far lower than the competition at a price that is painfully higher.
With the vibration turned off, the roller under-offers. It lacks the unique contours found on many other rollers, such as angles or bulges that might be useful for addressing varied trigger points from different vantages. It also lacks any topographic nuance, like nubs or patterning that might offer different pressure across the roller and might offer a massaging effect in and of themselves. One feature that sets it apart from many other rollers on the market requires the following caveat: it is incredibly slick. On any non-carpeted surface or even against many clothing materials, this massager will slide around. This is especially annoying when rolling a smaller area of the body or when balancing less weight on the device. As such, without vibration, the Vyper 2.0 is inferior to any other $20-$30 roller on the market.
I find vibrating massagers in general to lack any real feeling of massage. While the device has multiple levels of vibration, the highest level is loud and bounces on non-carpeted surfaces unless you’re putting most of your body weight on the device. Battery life when using higher levels of vibration are mediocre. This wouldn’t be as big of an issue if the device charged over USB, but it uses a proprietary charging port. If you’re traveling with this roller or taking it to the gym, you’ll need to bring along the dedicated charger. Although the build quality seems great, the product as a whole, is just not for me.

I tested this after a good leg workout so I could really compare it to the standard foam rollers I’ve used for years. I’ve never enjoyed foam rolling with sore muscles. It’s just too painful. I also wasn’t expecting much difference with a vibrating roller. It sounded a bit gimmicky. Wow, was I pleasantly surprised! In my experience, when rolling sore hamstrings, glutes & calves, the initial pain you feel when you put your weight on a standard roller is pretty excruciating, & the pain doesn’t lessen much even after a session of slow rolling. However, when I tried the Vyper roller, my experience was radically different. The initial pain lasted just a few seconds, but then I was able to quickly put more weight on the sore muscles & cover more area in a shorter timeframe than when using a standard roller. The biggest surprise was just after rolling. It felt more like I’d had a manual deep tissue massage. I could immediately stretch & move without pain. I’ve never felt that great after standard foam rolling. I would definitely recommend this as a replacement for the standard foam roller. What a great invention! Wish I’d had this years ago.

Best physical therapy device I have ever used. Very powerful on highest setting which is great for loosening up stiff muscles. I also use it to loosen up legs before track practice which makes warm-up time shorter and more efficient. Battery lasts a long time on single charge. This is very helpful for the back, neck, legs, shoulders, etc. The vibrations are more intense than I expected, so it’s nice to start out at level one and gradually go to the next level. Still haven’t needed to even use level 3. I have found I’m able to sink into the roller on those tender areas like the quads bc the vibration helps to relax the muscle or distract from the pain.
