Delivered with lightning speed, I ordered this Saturday afternoon and received the package Sunday morning! Love the classic look and finish. Bought to replace register cover over the refrigerator in the kitchen, unfortunately the vent part did not fit into the opening, but since I never close that vent, I just snapped off the vent part, and hung the nickel finished cover. Looks great!

Beautiful, but they RUST in humid parts of the country (we’re in the southeast). We have these everywhere in our home (purchased through the manufacturer) and after 2 years they have small rust spots all over the metal front grate piece. This is very disappointing since we spent the time and money to find something other than stock junk at the home improvement stores for our remodel. The manufacturer boasts the insides are made of plastic and can’t rust, but what about the exterior metal grate? It rusts!

We bought these supply air grate to replace standard slotted grates in our bathrooms, The old grates had been painted over many times over the years and always looked dirty. I was happy to see that these grates were exactly the same size and the screw holes lined up perfect, so very easy to install and no touch up painting around the grates was required. Was also happy with the easy operating plastic damper system, much smoother to operate than the old grates.

First off these Decor Grates registers are a 100% improvement in style and appearance over the white steel builder grade. They look great on the ceiling or wall. The Decor Grates are lightweight which can be a plus if using existing screw holes on the ceiling.
My problem with these Decor Grates is the air flow is one direction only. If on the ceiling then straight down. If on the wall straight out at 180 degrees. This is not adjustable. Most ceiling registers they are mounted close to a wall which could be a bummer if it mounted above a sofa with heat coming straight down.
See attached photos. The opening and closing is controlled by a couple of slider tabs. This does not control the air flow direction. For now I have installed the registers and will keep them if I don’t find anything better. I just can’t go back to the crappy white builder type registers.

Remodeling our house which has a seriously arts and crafts 1920’s style interior, and these ceiling air vents are absolutely perfect for that style. Unlike what some others have said, I see no problem with the quality of these and will be ordering more. The inner part which slides into your air box is a decent quality plastic that should last a long time, and the outer decorative part is metal. The ones we received were a darker bronze/brown color with lighter colored edges and highlights, but that actually looks better in my opinion.
Ours came with mounting screws and hardware, everything was included, so perhaps a few people just got shorted a few bits by mistake? Installation couldn’t have been easier, just drilled a couple of mounting holes and screwed them up. They’ve been in place for several months and everyone asks us where we got them – as I said, we will be ordering more. Wish they came in more colors!

Great on the floor! I renewed the hardwood floor of an open area and the antique brass finish is a perfect match with the new lighter floor. The damper fits well and looks sturdy even if it’s made of plastic. I’ll probably remove it anyway for it sits on a return air vent. Really, very pleased (especially since I paid 19 $ for it). Bought a series of 2 x 10 inch of the same model and finish for the other duct openings.

This register consists of two parts, a pretty sturdy metal part and a plastic insert that snaps into the metal cover. This would probably work fine in a perfect fitting wall duct-work that is not too close to the floor. However in an older home like mine it is a tight fit and the plastic keeps separating from the face plate as I attempt to install it. This review is just my initial finding I am hopeful that I can get it to work as it is nice looking.

Our grates are in the wall and we need ones that would fit an odd space (Who ever built the house 60 years ago was insane) but would also give an updated look. I saw these were plastic but decided to give them a go anyway and the price was good. It’s just a grate after all. Taking it out of the package the screws were inside the grate. It took a little fandangling to get them out. They didn’t fit exactly but a size up wouldn’t have fit at all. (Stupid House) During installation I noticed one side the paint was shaved off. I was going to return but then….well… the other scratches were my fault. So that one is now behind a chair. I’m a little dismayed that they would scratch so easily! They’ll work for us as our grates arn’t in main traffic but if they were in the floor, absolutely not! I’d say these are for ceiling or out of reach places only.

2020 update: So it turns out the plastic grate part of these warp with heat. I noticed this after turning on my air conditioning for the summer and going to open the grate all the way, wouldn’t budge up or down. So I took it out, pulled it apart a bit to see if I could fix it. Unfortunately not, the smaller sliding piece is too warped that it no longer fits on the bigger plastic part. I’m not sure if it was because I keep or bedroom vents mostly closed or because it’s just plastic and our heating air is super hot. Anyways it is still a nice piece, but now pretty useless.
Original post: It’s really beautiful. I think it’ll go great with the master bedroom once it is finished. I did notice the screws that came with it so not match the finish of the register. They are more of a chrome than brushed nickel. Maybe that’s just me being picky.
