Nice privacy screen like you would expect from Kensington. I like the fact that it is reversible for both gloss and matte finishes.
Unfortunately my 2017 15-inch Macbook Pro with Touch Bar does not fully close with the privacy screen is attached. They do however provide a protective sleeve for when the privacy screen is not in use.
I probably wouldn’t have bought it if I knew it had to be removed for the laptop to close properly. I will test it this week while traveling and update this review.

Perhaps I have too high a standard but at the office I see privacy screens on PC monitors that all but obliterate any view of the screen at angles of 30 degrees or more. This does nothing of the sort. While perhaps dimming things to the equivalency of around 40% brightness, you can still very definitely see what’s on the screen of a MacBook Pro 15 inch w/touch bar. Given that there aren’t any other options out there, I’ll stick with this as it’s better than nothing, but that’s not saying too much. The magnet is nice, but is also something that should command an 80% premium over other generic offerings. As other people have stated, the display is no longer flush with the body with the laptop is closed either. The day something better comes out, I’ll buy it, but for now, this will have to do.

This privacy screen definitely does what it says! I searched quite a few options before buying this one but most of what I found either had 2 little adhesive stickies (idk the correct term, sorry) and I didn’t want to have to spend so much time adjusting or have residue on my screen a lot of them didn’t have as strong reviews where there were a lot of complaints of people receiving the wrong model. Personally, I find it annoying when I have to return things (mostly bc I forget lol ) so I went quality over quantity on this decision. I love the magnetic feature which is helpful if you want easy install/removal and avoid dealing with having something fixed onto the screen. It’s true, you can’t completely close the laptop (very close though) with the screen on but personally, I didn’t find that feature on similar products. Honestly, it would be cool if it could close but the plastic travel folder it comes with is thin enough that it doesn’t feel like I’m carrying extra bulk with my mac. Definitely recommend!

Good: The magnetic strip that attaches to the screen on my Macbook Pro is nice. No messing around with sliding tabs or sticking tabs to the screen.
Bad: Anyone can see your screen, no matter the angle. In order to get to a point where the screen was truly private, you have to turn the brightness down to a level where even YOU can’t see the screen. It’s so bad that people could easily read the larger text on the screen, even at 50% brightness. For a product that’s designed to hide your screen from people sitting next to you in a work environment or a plane, this is a useless waste of money.

I purchased one of these and was impressed by the quality but was upset that it did not allow my laptop to close even though it shows a picture of a laptop (same as mine) closing. I thought perhaps it was bent slightly and exchanged it for a new one – and the same problem exists. The laptop does not close at all (a good 1/4” at edge) and when you open the laptop, this screen falls off. Definitely not worth even $10 unless you want to carry a flimsy piece of plastic (that will inevitably bend) along separately with your laptop and add it to your screen every time you need to use it.

It’s important to realize the capabilities of these filters. None of them are perfect and block absolutely anyone looking at your screen (there needs to be a reasonably wide “sweet spot” or viewing at all would be tricky), but this is a decent compromise between privacy and functionality. The magnetic adhesion is really good, and I have no problems using it with a Mac Book Pro – I was put off by reviews stating that closing the device was tricky, until I saw one in action on a colleagues machine. He hadn’t had an issue and neither have I. I forget it’s there most of the time.

Nice product but I was hoping for a little more privacy. Installation is very easy and the magnet is perfect.

I’m not one to write reviews, but I figured it best to voice my concerns with this item. The seller claims the laptop will shut with the privacy screen installed. If you are planning to use it in one location, open it up on your desk and never travel, you can close it and it will stay closed as shown in their images. The second you pack it into a briefcase or in my case a Filson bag, the laptop will remain open. Roughly 3/8″ of an inch. At this time, it will open and close with every step. You can press it closed and it will open right back up. You remove the privacy screen and it closes and stays shut as designed.
See attached the image of the opening.
As far as the privacy is concerned it is spot on, but the thickness causes an issue with close.
This MacBook Pro was delivered on December 12th and is covered with an Incase textured case from Apple’s website.

Sticks well. Cuts out peripheral viewing and maintains a good bright screen for the user.
Computer closes with screen in situ.
Good stuff…

This product is just OK. I like the way it reduces glare on the screen, and privacy wise it does a decent job. It does as you’d expect reduce brightness, but not to problem levels.
It fits well to my Macbook Pro 2016 15″, it does prevent the Macbook from fully closing, but it doesn’t cause any problems and the device still goes to sleep when you close the lid.
The biggest problem is that the screen doesn’t sit uniformly flush against the display. Where there is a slightly larger gap between the actual display and the screen, the resolution is massively impacted, so the bottom left of the screen in my case is barely readable.
The glossy side creates so much glare it’s unusable unless you’re in an environment with no light.
I’m going to persevere with it for a few days, but I suspect I’ll be returning as for the price I can’t accept the faults with this product.

I was very leery about purchasing this after reading multiple negative reviews. I have used several different Privacy screen manufacturers and sizes over the past 6-7 years, so I know what works for me and what doesn’t. I’m happy to report this screen definitely works! I LOVE the magnetic attachment, and it’s nice that the screen comes with a pouch to store it when not in use. While no privacy screen is perfect, this one definitely cuts down on the readability of documents for people sitting next to you. I have no problem using this in coffee shops, etc., and will be testing it out on a flight soon. Recommended!

The magnetic adhesion is perfect, strong enough to latch on but also removable for when you need to enjoy that Retina HD display of MacBook Pro. The brightness is limited beyond 45 degrees of viewing angle. Is good with the anti-glare technology.

The product, although expensive does seem to be very well build and the fact that it does not need any glue makes it attractive. The level of privacy it provides is very good and the matt side provides a good anti-glare protection.
However, after a couple of hours use the screen has started to lift up off the MacBook screen leaving a space between the screen and the protection screen which makes it unusable. This is a considerable design flaw as it means the only way I can remove the space is by keeping it on the glossy side, therefore losing the anti-glare functionality.
I will be returning the product and opting for a cheap option.
