the look, nice sleek and up to date. actual usability, disappointed. I had the previous commander in my car and loved it(used the remote for driving). the following is my opinions. first, the touch sensors suck and are delayed if they get your push at all. I think they tried to get too cutesy with all the options on the screen (some like to see a lot). when driving the only needed is the channel and the artist/song. the display was too busy and at times hard to see. the older version had a simple LCD readout. I prefer to use a remote because you can feel around the primary buttons without looking. the new remote has no bumps to feel around. the new remote also does not allow to set direct(channel) numbers, first you hit direct on the remote then the station number and enter.on the head unit you hit the channel on screen, then input the number wanted and then GO onscreen. I feel that is way too much time looking at the screen and not the road(I have tried the onscreen) especially with the touchscreen issues I have mentioned. the previous version allowed you to set up the head unit to accept direct, scan or preset(mine was set to direct but could scroll on the head unit wheel or up/down remote buttons). this version also does not come with a remote in the main package (if you get the remote for it) you have to download an update to a media device and plug it into the head unit using a micro usb just to use the remote. as of writing this review I admit I am still not totally convinced that I will keep this version in or put a new older version back in. I recommend having it installed but if you are comfortable with basic wiring and car radio wires,go for it. I made no splices into car wiring.

I really dld enjoy the time I spent with the Best buy staff Logan was excellent,he kept me informed about the installation and about how long it would take during my stay I toured the store and all representative was very courteous and polite overall I was totally pleased with the whole time that I spent at your store I would highly recommend anyone to have anything installed in the vehicle to go to one of your stores I truly had a great experience and would definitely do it again thank you Brown.

The touch screen can be difficult, not always registering taps. I’ve had some problems with the power “button” so I’ve just been leaving it on all the time. Luckily it turns off when I turn the car’s engine off, so it isn’t draining the battery when the car’s off. Definitely not easy or a good idea to try changing channels while driving. Bought this because my 2015 Toyota didn’t come Sirius-ready (why not, Toyota??) and didn’t want to splurge on an expensive touch-screen replacement for my stock radio that was Sirius-ready. I probably should have splurged on a touch-screen stereo with Sirius integrated.

Had to install myself even thou Best Buy offered free installation. It was a snap. You do need alittle knowledge of electrical and how it works in a car, but I’m sure I did a better job than GEEK Squad would have done.

Great small unit. I used the flush mount method. Easy to install. I installed it on my commercial truck. It looks great at night.

Overall it works fine and does what I need it to do. The only problem that I have is with the on/off ‘button’. Does not work well for me. Some times I touch it once and it goes on or offf easily, sometimes I can try for a couple of minutes tapping it, touching it, or holding a finger down on it for several seconds and nothing happens. If that one issue were fixed I’d say it was much better than 4 stars.

I was looking for a satellite radio to install in my car. I was looking for a touch screen radio just like the one came with my car, and I wanted to keep the hands free for my car. I found out it was going to cost close to $1000.00 to install a radio like the one that came with my car that included satellite radio. When the salesperson informed me of this radio I purchased it and I like it. I especially like the fact that I can rewind if I wanted to hear the song again.

The idea of having a dashboard mounted display for a SiriusXM radio was compelling. I could have added this to my car, but after considering the hassle of getting behind the dash and connecting into the radio wiring harness, I decided to go with a portable radio with a vehicle kit. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the Commander Touch radio, so I would recommend it. You might also consider having it professionally installed.
