I’m really sorry I purchased 12 of these. Mead was a name I trusted for office products, but that is not the case with these composition notebooks. The covers are much thinner and less durable than they used to be and bend easily. The inside paper is thin and tears, plus I’ve had issues with bleed-through when using certain kinds of pens. I’m going to donate them and look for something of better quality. These just don’t work.

I have been using Mead composition books for years because of the nice hard covers, the durability of the book, and its overall quality. I equated Mead with products that were reliable for their quality, and shopped accordingly.
This order was a package of 12 of the Mead composition books, and I received it just a couple of days ago. It was packaged well and arrived when it was supposed to. However, when I opened the box, I was really disgusted with the cheap, flimsy composition books. The covers look and feel like they’re made of a low grade card stock, the books themselves won’t close properly because of the center stitching, the pages are low quality and nothing at all like the Mead products I am used to buying…more like a cheap knockoff. Mead, you dropped the ball big time on this, and while I’m not a huge customer of your products, I have been a steady one. With shabby quality like this, I will not be buying your stuff anymore…I can get better quality at the local dollar store.

These were not Mead brand. Sticker on outside of bag said Mead but the brand of the item is actually pen+gear which run about $0.50. Not the product or quality I was looking for. Will be returning.

I purchased the Mead Composition Notebooks for my middle school students and my left handed student was very happy to finally have a notebook that wasn’t hindering, restricting or resulting in smudged words, (which usually occurs in the typical spiral notebook that was built for right handed people)!
These notebooks have a durable marbled cardboard cover with sheets permanently sewn into the binding. This makes it much harder for your child to rip out pages and inevitably cuts down on paper wastage. It comes with a place for your child’s class schedule on the inside front cover, and multiplication table, conversion table, and grammar rules on inside back cover. The pages are white colored and are thick enough to use with regular ink pens and of course pencils!
The 12 pack is a much better deal financially, even though you can’t choose individual colors, which can retail for as much as $6.50 each depending on color.
These notebooks are perfect for elementary school (from 3rd grade), middle school, college students and even for adults who need it for managing receipts or bookkeeping. Grade A!

I use these as a daily log and to-do list. Each day, on the left hand page I put the date and then a list of things I can or should do. (I cross them out when done. A cross out ending in an arrow to the right means that I did not do them, but instead entered them on the next day’s left hand page.) I use the right hand side of the two open pages to make notes of conversations or what I did as a I go along-for example showing calculations or commitments and usually the name of whoever answered the phone and what they said.
Using this technique means that people can trust you to do what you said you would do.
You can enter an A, B, or C next to the list–“A” means must do today, for example. This works better than re-writing lists in order of importance.
I imagine that over the years I’ve filled up over a hundred of these things. I tend to keep them only for a year or so..
An advantage is that I can be sure I do what I said I would do rather than forgetting it. Therefore people trust me to do what I said I would do. That helps with future dealings.

This photo is very misleading as it looks as though you are getting four notebooks in different colours but in fact you get one. Very expensive and disappointing.

Al principio me decepcionó el que las hojas fueran tan delgadas, porque pensé que la tinta se pasarÃa al otro lado con tantos plumones (me encanta ser media extra en mis apuntes). I use one of these to keep track of my monthly bills I assign in order a month to a page … write down all the bills that I know I’m going to have …And as they come in and I pay them …I simply color their line with a pastel colored pencil.. so at any point in time I will know exactly which bills have not come in and how I need to be preparing for them and beside each listing …example: Electric company I write in the number the check and the date and pertinate information or how I paid for it… by phone? Check ? Or in person? so that at any point in time I can look back… from the beginning of the year to the end of the year and and these books will hold several years worth of information.
I can find things with no hunting through checkbooks are looking for other documentation to help when I have a problem with a product and there’s plenty of room to make extra notes so I include information for example when the bill was due …were there were any special items in that bill that I need to remember? like I paid for car towing for my daughter.. she owes me the money

Me gusto mucho la calidasd del cuaderno y la costura de las hojas.
el papel es algo delgado pero tiene el grosor suficiente para no marcar en exceso las paginas siguientes o para que la tinta no traspase el papel.
tienen un diseño muy bueno que las hace ideales para cualquier persona y cualquier ocasion.

el precio fue bueno, compre el paquete de 12 libretas por $228.63 por lo que cada libreta me salio en menos de $20

a little pricey, but when the picky school district demands BLACK composition books and all the local stores are sold out of black (all they had were nice looking colorful ones or ones with graphics)… it’s a composition book. sometimes i think the school districts have some sort of conspiracy with school supply companies against the parents… (no, not really)
