The permanent grin on your face while you hit the throttle and feel the instant acceleration of the dual wheel 250w motors (500w total=theoretical 1000w max performance) is well worth the price of admission. The e-brakes are smooth and gradual and are probably the best brakes I’ve used on an e-scooter. Build quality, fit, and finish are top notch! Ride quality suffers compared to e-scooters with pneumatic air-filled tires but you’ll never have to worry about flats. If you’ve got smooth, paved roads to ride on then this is definitely the e-scooter to own.

The Unagi scooter is absolutely amazing! Instant torque with the dual motor and the fact that the body is made out of aluminum and carbon. The handle bar is such a great piece from the lcd screen to the magnesium finish.

Its got the weight limit i wanted, nice color, great construction, my only beef is charging time is LONG for the price and the kick stand is trash, the thing tips over in a strong breeze

The prettyness of the scooter comes at a cost. Unfortunately the cons outweighed the pros. Returned the scooter.
Pros:
– Super sleek looking
– Nice acceleration
– Good electronic braking
– Quiet motor
Cons:
– Glitchy display. Sometimes the battery meter would blank out. The trip meter read 6,123 miles and could not reset.
– Battery life. There’s no way this can go the advertised mileage on a single charge if you’re on the third gear.
– CREAKS. the stem creaks almost violently. There is ‘give’ to this scooter as you pull the handlebars back or forward during natural use. Other reviewers have had this problem. But it’s almost embarrassing as you ride.
– No shock absorption (!!) you will feel EVERY bump in the road. Very uncomfortable ride, and it’s scary to hit any sized divot. On the second week, after hitting a (small) pothole in the road here in nyc, the lack of shock absorption ultimately broke the steering mechanism. I couldn’t turn the scooter without it pulling aggressively to the left or right.
I’m surprised to see people not talking about this… I wanted to like the scooter, but for $1K, not CLOSE to being worth it. There are better scooters for less than half the price.

I am an employee of Best Buy and had the opportunity to test out the Unagi Model One and it was the smoothest, most quality scooter I have driven. I have seen many references to it being the Tesla or Apple of electric scooters and after riding the scooter I understand. The pictures don’t do it justice, everything is very well well put together. Other scooters I have driven can feel a little flimsy and that the hinges/screws aren’t tight, but this scooter is solid! I was also surprised to see the scooter had electronic brakes. Some scooters may advertise higher speeds, but I got to 17MPH no problem and notice minimal decrease in speed when going up a pretty steep hill in my neighborhood. The built in front and tail lights were a pleasant surprise and made me feel safe when driving home at dusk. The only part of this scooter that I didn’t like was that the “horn” is located pretty close to the accelerator, so I found that I would often accidentally hit the horn when trying to accelerate. This wasn’t a huge issue, but did surprise me a couple of times. Overall, I thought this lived up to the “Tesla or Apple of Scooters” reputation.

Im a bit too heavy for this scooter to get close to the 15.5 mile range (I get 5-6 miles max) but I now know that the next $1k+ scooter I get will need dual motor and suspension. This little guy flies up hills in dual motor mode and the acceleration is fun, but is rough to ride on bumpy/rough roads (most roads in NY).
I unlocked the speed on mine so it can go to 20 mph and if you can get on a smooth road. It feels amazing and rides amazing.

I am an employee of Best Buy and had the opportunity to use the Unagi Model One Foldable Electric Scooter. I enjoy everything about this scooter. Starting with setup our of the box. In a matter of minutes I had the scooter set up and ready to ride. All parts needed for assembly are included so you do not have to worry about not having the correct tool at home to complete the little assembly that is required. The scooters handling and response is a big strength so I feel comfortable and safe while riding. This scooter has 3 different ride settings which makes it functional and safe for all levels of riders. The LED screen is a great feature, it captures battery life, speed, distance traveled and the ride level you have it set to. I really like the pickup this scooter has, it gets you up to speed in a hurry and maintains the speed very well while going up hills. I have yet to completely drain the battery so battery life is also strength of this scooter. When you are not riding the scooter it easily folds down and is easy to carry store in small places. Overall, this is a great product and I highly recommend it.

I am a Best Buy employee and had the opportunity to test the Unagi Model One electric scooter. In my opinion this is the best electric scooter I’ve ever ridden. It’s an incredibly smooth ride and this scooter also has great response when using the throttle or brake. It maintains a consistent speed whether you’re riding on flat ground or going up a hill. I’ve been able to get it up to 16 MPH and have been impressed with the battery life and distance you can go on a single charge. It also has a good headlight and tail light for safe riding at night. Overall, this is a great scooter and would definitely recommend.
