This camera works excellent and much better than the standard camera that comes built into the laptop. I was able to plug it into my Mac and it worked instantly on all apps. But I could never get it to work or connect on my Chromebook.

This is a great camera. I purchased it for doing live stream shows with my band and it is much better than the built in camera on my MacBook Pro. Crisp, sharp image with good color and picks up a lot of light. Setup was plug and play. No driver installation was necessary. The fact that it looks like something from a 90’s Sci-Fi movie is a nice bonus. My only minor complaint is that I wish there was a little more spring tension in the monitor clip to hold it in place more firmly. It’s fine if you don’t touch it but can change position if the cord or computer gets moved.

The image quality is adequate for small-format images (like a crowded Zoom call). At full resolution, the image looks pixelated and the low-light performance is bad (see attached photo).
The build quality is very cheap. There is no auto-focus, and don’t bother trying to rotate the focus ring without pliers. The metal clip doesn’t grip the top of the screen correctly, and could scratch the screen coating if you don’t pad it.
The only positive things I can say is that windows 10 immediately recognized the camera and the face recognition appears to work if the room is bright enough.
If this camera were under $30, I would be satisfied. At a pandemic-inflated $99, the quality is unacceptable. Unfortunately, I needed it for my son’s virtual computer camp, so I have to take what’s available.

Easy connection to my laptop with zero issues, the camera was a bit grainy but maybe because it’s a chromebook ? It does look better then my standard webcam but I would hope that it’d be a cleaner picture for the price.

The sound and picture are great. The only gripe I have is that I would like the camera to be able to tilt side-to-side.

My sons have been using this webcam for over a year. One uses it for work at home and the other uses it for college. It has provided a great usage for 1080P even though our internet loses connection. I just wish there was a light and better focusing because my son had to verify his identity with his school card for proctored tests. He said it doesn’t have clear focus.
