The reviews all seem great and I can kind of understand that; the cream smells great and really soothes and softens the nipples BUT it has many white balls of something (hard cacao butter maybe?) and those hurt! They’re not plastic microbeads thankfully (I can crush them with my fingernails) but I can’t get them to spread on my skin. Worst ingredient to put in a cream for sore, cracked nipples 🙁

** Update: I emailed Earth Mama customer service and asked them if it was faulty or something. They wrote back saying they get asked about the balls a lot and that they are just hardened bits due to temperature fluctuations. They spread easily on skin they said.
Obviously they’ve never tried spreading them on their own nipples! Nonetheless, when they said it was from storage conditions I realized I could fix it. I took the lid off and put it in the microwave, nuked it for 30 seconds, stirred, nuked again for 15 more seconds and it all looked uniform. When it hardened (at room temperature) it was perfect and it all spreads now.

This stuff made SUCH a difference in breastfeeding for me! I breastfed my first child and used all the lanolin for weeks as I cried because of the pain of having cracked nipples. I can barely remember when they healed but it felt like forever. With my second child I purchased this before she was born and by the end of my first week breastfeeding her using this nipple butter I was no longer in pain even though I experienced the same cracks as I did with my son, they healed much faster. I still have plenty left over -if there is any concern that this is so expensive for such a small amount- it’s more than enough!

I’m a new mom and the first couple days of breast feeding were rough. Sore cracked nipples and a hungry baby boy made for painful feedings. I was not prepared for this! The hospital gave me some samples of the medela lanolin creme and it was not helping at all. I got desperate and started looking on Amazon. I ordered The Earth mama brand seeing all the positive reviews and I’m so glad I did!!! I did not have the grainey experience as a few other reviewers did. The smell is pleasant however my son does not care for the taste as much so I just wipe it off before feedings. I will be getting this for all my future nursing mom friends as baby shower gifts! Additionally if you experience what I went through try getting the gell nipple pads and bamboo reusable nursing bra pads (all found on Amazon) The disposable pads cause your nipples to dry out so the bamboo is the only way to go and the gel pads feel amazing especially after you put them in the refrigerator.

I wouldn’t want anyone to see it on the vanity because of it’s name… as for the quality- I really like how it moisterizes and heals dry skin just overnight and will keep using it. I didn’t like the texture and smell though.

I had purchased this product after reading so many raving reviews. As I am getting ready for my delivery (in a week and half), I started putting together my hospital stuff. To my surprise, the container that this product came in was open already with what looked like a finger pressed into the center of the product. Since I have to apply this product during breast feeding period, I had to dump it becuase I’m not going to expose my to a suspicious opened Item. Very disappointed by the packaging. My husband bought me other products from this brand and now I’m paranoid. ;(

I ordered the Earth Mama Organic Nipple butter and received 2 of the older Verision Natural Nipple Butter. I have severe Eczema on my nipples and am trying so hard to get through the last month of breastfeeding my baby girl until she’s 1. I ordered the organic as that’s what I’ve been using, it’s approved by my dermatologist and I know I won’t have a reaction. While I know it is mostly the same I’m very disappointed that I ordered one thing and received something else. After all the pain and issues I’ve been through I’m afraid to even use this because I don’t want any of the ingredients to make my reaction worse.

I purchased this initially as nipple butter, which I loved much more than lanolin for the baby to digest. It has a mild pleasant smell as well with a calming effect. I kept it by my bedside and one night I couldn’t find my bedside chapstick and figured it could go in its place – loved how moist my lips felt in the morning and stopped having chapped winter lip issues! Then a month later I could not find the desitin during a diaper change. My baby had developed a skin chafing buildup on one inner thigh which hadn’t gone away for a month despite diligent care and cleaning. I applied a thin coat of this for the next day worth of diaper changes and noticed the skin healing. By a few more days it was all healed! I never went back to desitin, this is my go to and requires a much thinner coat so the small canister lasts longer than a tube of desitin. I reordered this instead of the earth butter diaper cream (which I have never tried) because it serves 3 purposes-nipple, lip, and diaper cream!

#1 this is a truthful product! If you read the front it says “organic nipple butter”. If you read the back it describes how it’s buttery, rich, moisturizing, SAFE for baby’s mouth, and non GMO. It’s TRUE! I apply and put my milk pad over it so it does not wipe off and my bra as well. You need to let it absorb and have time to help heal. The smell is like cocoa butter, very subtle and delicious. The taste is mild and unnoticed by my son. I know that it’s safe so I have no issues feeding him right after.
Multi use…. my husband has used on my dry feet, hands, lips…. it’s really wonderful. Cocoa butter tends to take time to dissolve so you may notice little ball like pieces… just work around in your hand and it will go away.
Longevity…. I’ve been using for 10 months and like I said I’ve used it all over. Also…. as far as lasting, this does last on your skin for awhile. It moisturizes and lasts for hours.

***This is an honest review…. I took a lot of months using this religiously, so this was not something copied and pasted. Hopefully my knowledge helps you…. if so please hit helpful and let me know.*****
