Final Update Review: My replacement came in yesterday (thanks to Hiboy Support!) and all I can say is that the unit is solid and durable in terms of build quality. It has good speed on the road but struggles going up hills in San Francisco (not enough power and torque). Other than that, I highly recommend this scooter for anyone looking for one that they can ride confidently on the go. Stay safe while on the road and avoid the hills! 😉

Update: I finally got support to return the item and they said they’re going to send me back a replacement soon. I will update again when I get my replacement and hoping it works out of the box.

Original Review: Was really looking forward to using this scooter and upon on arrival since last Wednesday (10/21/20), the moment I turned on the unit I have an E3 error code flashing on the screen and contacted support multiple times and no answer or replies to my emails!!

I’ve ordered hundreds of items on Amazon with lots of success. This is the only product that failed me and costs a lot of money too!

So I’ve only had it for a few hours but I’m really impressed so far. The app provides a lot of cool options for customizing performance. I will say idk who is riding this thing at 19mph cause on my run to the store I noticed that it gets a bit squirrelly at around 16mph. I’ve never had much luck with bikes in this town (tires would get punctured in a week or 2) so the solid airless tires were a big selling point for me. I’ll mostly be using this for a daily grocery runs and just cruising around a bit. As long as it holds up this should turn out to be a pretty solid purchase.

I’ll update this as I use it more but unless there is some type of catastrophic failure I think I’ll be pretty happy with this for a while.

Update: The return/replacement was quick and easy. The new Hiboy has held up well and we are very happy with it.

This will not be my final review for the Hiboy S2 Pro since I’m pending an exchange. I bought the scooter because, based on the description, it went faster and farther then the two other scooters (different brand) I previously purchased. Also the weight capacity was advertised much higher. Well, It lived up to the description. The scooter is fast and the battery went on forever.
The bad:
After just a couple days of riding the bolts holding the rear assembly snapped.
The good:
I quickly started a return and by morning Hiboy contacted me. They were very helpful and promptly replied. To me, that’s always a good sign.
Hopefully the scooter they send holds up because this thing is really fun and feels a lot more solid than my other scooters. I would gladly give them a five star once the replacement holds up for a while.

The Hiboy S2 Pro is an excellent electric scooter. We have purchased this scooter primarily for camping and plan to purchase a second Hiboy S2 Pro for the same purpose. Unboxing and assembly required a few minutes and was charged and ready to test. The max weight is 265 lbs, I’m just above this max weight and the scooter reached its max speed of 19 mph with ease. As I do not want to deal with flats the solid tires were preferred and provide some absorption. Although tight the rear suspension is noticeable. The led display is clear and provides all the information you’ll need. The app is also useful for setting parameters for different level riders. Lighting could be improved by either directing the light lower to the ground or by adding a second light at ground level. Overall, and so far, this is an excellent purchase.

Llevo una semana con él, pero estoy super contento. Me ha hecho unos 35km, en modo sport (que va a entre 25-30km). Por lo que supongo que en el modo no sport (va a 25km/h, el modo a ir para evitar que nos multen), hará los 40km, y eso es lo que se anuncia, y muy pocos patinetes (por no decir ninguno), hacen lo que anuncian. Lo compré, sobre todo, por los neumaticos de goma que no se pueden pinchar porque no llevan aire, ya que los neumaticos convencionales de aire, se pinchan mucho (por lo que he leído y escuchado). Otra cosa buena, son los neumaticos de 10 pulgadas, mucha gente de 8.5, acaban comprandole los de 10 pulgadas por que se mejora mucho la conducción, sensación y autonomía.
Otro plus, la suspensión trasera, que por el precio que tiene el patín, casi ninguno la lleva.
En cuanto a la frenada, tiene el freno electrico y el de disco, por lo que si accionas los dos a la vez, frena muchísimo. Ninguna queja en cuanto a las luces tampoco.
Muy fácil de actualizar y conectar a la app, y cambiar cositas, como la velocidad de los modos, intensidad de frenada, la arrancada, contraseña…
Creo que este es tu patín, a no ser que lo vayas a estar cargándolo mucho o metiéndolo en sitios estrechos, ya que no es un patín ligero (16.4kg).
Otra cosa que me informe antes de comprar, son los repuestos, ya que no es un patín muy popular aquí en españa, pero en su pagina web si venden recambios de batería (por 79 euros), que me parece un precio razonable, y es algo a tener en cuenta, ya que a la larga (y no tan larga), la batería de los patinenes, pierden autonomia y potencia.

From the other reviews it looked like there was great support. However, after having my scooter disabled on several occasions I realized this is not true.

Support takes days to respond sometimes weeks.

The first time my scooter was locked via Bluetooth then would neither reconnect nor roll the front wheel… I couldn’t even walk it 3 miles home, I had to uber. I found that plugging in the power cable forces a shutdown which unlocks the scooter. So problem solved but what a useless lock.

The second time after I updated the firmware, I got stranded while riding it. The throttle had issues responding, then it went into some alternate mode where the display flashed horizontal lines. The wheel spun freely so I was able to walk it home.

However nothing remedied the problem, support offered a replacement but it was after only 2 weeks so I requested a refund.

**Edit: It took over a week to have it handled. I did have a note here about not receiving a refund.

Since then I’ve received several calls & email messages from Hiboy asking me edit this review. I’m pretty sure that’s a violation of Amazon seller TOS. However, I have found no way for me to formally report this highly unusual & bothersome post-refund behavior to Amazon. Here’s your edit Hiboy stop bothering me.
