I managed to get these shoes pretty cheap. It’s strange that the price changes so much depending on the size. It’s very comfortable especially as someone with wide feet. I bought the brown and the black one for work.

The shoe itself seems nice and very light. If you get the fit right I guess it is a nice shoe. For me, 8.0 way too large. 7.5 way too small. This is my 2nd try with this Bostonian model after another 2 tries with another model. I give up. Their sizes are all over the place.

I have worn Bostonian shoes for work almost exclusively for the last decade. Although I wish Bostonian made more shoes with a leather sole, the rubber soles on the Ipswich are comfortable and light. The upper leather looks professional and sharp, and the fit is true-to-size. Great shoes. In fact, I just ordered the brown version yesterday (approx. 3 mos. after buying the black). Also, kuddos to Amazon for great prices and quick shipping on shoes: Amazon has replaced my former online shoe vendor.

I have worn Bostonian shoes for many years. The Ipswich is comfortable and light. Though I don’t wear it daily, I believe I could if necessary. My only disappointment, and its a small one, is that the leather does not shine up as much as I had hoped. It does not approach glossy, but mostly a matte finish with a little bit of gloss. And that’s after applying a good Saphir wax. But for the prices, that’s OK.

Comfortable and lightweight work shoe. Nice cushion if you’re standing for extended periods but they did get a bit hot inside which traps some sweat. I’d recommend buying a half size larger and getting an odor guard insert if you work on your feet all day. There is no metal shank so they’re good for TSA airport security checkpoints.

Tried these on and they almost felt like sneakers. Very lightweight. The sole has support cup on the heels which prevents your foot from sliding around. I can’t wear my heavier Kenneth Cole or Rockports anymore. The style is a bit conservative but not too dowdy. Highly recommend them, even if you cannot resole them like leather soles.

These shoes are some of the most comfortable I have bought in recent years. I wear a 15 wide and had previously bought a similar Bostonian pair and they were too narrow. Amazon had a great price on these and I thought I would risk it. I’m glad I did. They were so comfortable, I immediately ordered a second pair in the same brown color and another in black.

I purchased a pair of Bostonian Men’s Ipswich Apron Oxfords after wearing a similar pair for a few years and being very satisfied with the fit, comfort, and durability. I was disappointed to see that the shoe with the same name as before seemed to have been significantly changed. The biggest difference was that the leather was much stiffer than my last pair when new, but the overall impression was that the new version seemed of inferior quality in every way. I had hoped that after some use I would forget about the differences and the comfort would improve once they were broken in. Instead, after a few weeks of occasional use I began to experience intermittent foot pain. I discovered that the sole of the shoe had voids under the ball of my foot that result in an uneven surface below the insole that make the shoe essentially unusable. I am very disappointed in the performance of the revised version of this shoe. Unfortunately I did not discover the issue with the shoe until I was beyond the return date.

This is my second pair of the Bostonian Ipswich which is one of the best dress shoes that I have ever owned. These are the key positives, which other dress shoes in this price range are lacking – they are super lightweight / the soles and heels last a really long time before wearing down / the insole is removable / the stitching holds up over time. One major issue that I had with my first pair is that the sole was nearly completing smooth. On certain surfaces that were even slightly damp, there was no traction. More than once I nearly took a bad fall. This pair has a nice tread pattern on the sole, so I don’t expect that to be an issue.
