Weird noise coming from inside the unit, no water out, I paid a plumber to install it and now it isn’t working. Contacted the seller to return it, they refused to get it back and wanted me to ship it back for repair. Why would I pay for a defective item plus the plumber fees. The plumber opened it and it seems the tubes are not correctly connected to the tank, this is why there is no water coming out. Won’t buy from this seller. Very disappointing and deceiving. I paid more than $1000 to get this item and now has to suffer to return it.

First, let me say, you know you have really made it in this world, if you can afford a $700 toilet seat – just saying…

As you know, they make dedicated bidets. In our little bathroom, that was not an option. I looked at a lot of bidet toilet seats. Buying a cheap bidet toilet seat is like buying a cheap parachute or a bargain cardiac pacemaker. You probably aren’t going to be happy with it. So, after you get over the sticker shock of a high end bidet toilet seat, and buy it; you still have to install it.

First, you have to remove your old toilet seat. This typically is an easy job. My old toilet seat wanted to make a crusade out of staying on. The seat bolts had rusted and you just about have to stand on your head to see what you are doing… but I eventually won and without breaking the toilet.

When you look at the video or instructions, apparently we have the only house that doesn’t have an electrical outlet right next to toilet near where the water supply line is located. Rather than add another $300 to this boondoggle project (wife driven) I figured I could run an extension cord from the electrical outlet near the sink and mirror, thread it behind the vanity, and sneak the plugs behind same, as so to avoid the employment of an electrician. Alright… I should have bought a nice pretty white extension cord, a fact which is not lost on my wife (patiently waiting for the right moment to drop that bombshell). The directions are pretty straightforward and there are installation videos available on YouTube. You will need to shut the water off at the cutoff, flush the toilet, disconnect a few hoses, add a few fittings, reconnect the hoses, turn on the water, check for leaks, and then plug it in. An adjustable wrench or two is all you will need. If it weren’t for my old toilet seat, fighting for its dear life, this would have been fairly easy.

This is the Cadillac of bidet toilet seats. The water that is squirted up at your ….. is warm. As I write this review, it is 15 degrees in Fairfax, VA. The water coming into our house from the outside is probably about 40 degrees. Having freezing cold water shoot up your kazoo is not the way I want to wake up in the morning. The water warmer is a good thing. The seat itself is heated and stays nice and toasty. There is a sensor in the seat to know if you are actually sitting down, so you can’t accidentally spray water everywhere in your bathroom. This is a good feature.

My wife, the Princess, will never read an instruction manual. Me, I read them twice, once before installation and again during initial operation. Not my Queen of the Nile. She will seat on the can and push every button on the remote that comes with this thing until she figures it out – by trial and error. That is her way; tactile and hands on.

Now, our only remaining challenge, is where to mount the remote control holder / bracket. Her Highness is left-handed, and I am right-handed, so this is a decision that may never be made.

Is thing thing worth $700? That all depends on the value you place on domestic tranquility.

It’s not a bad unit but it could be better. No backlight on remote display or buttons is a real oversight, as are lack of user presets. It looks pretty bulky both in the box and mounted, but is very comfortable on an elongated toilet. The seat hole looks ludicrously narrow but works well as there’s little reason to reach it while sitting. The seat itself is wide with nice round edges, maybe a little less comfortable that the original. I did find the seat is not that warm but then gets too hot once you are seated— not sure if it’s a power saving or just lack of a temperature sensor. The manual is no help, there are a number of settings that can only be accessed by key combinations on the remote that are missing from it. Installation instructions are a little sketchy, for example safety tapeholinthe doors closed is not flagged for removal.
I ordered the white and was concerned that it would look mismatched with the almond toilet, but it’s actually fine—it’s a sort of natural cotton/ivory white that matches nicely with many colours. I’m not a fan of the silver main enclosure though, it looks frankly industrial.
I got this one as a first foray into bidets because of the enema function, but turned out it was way too needle-like for me, and a nice relaxing regular wash (not even strongest setting) was all I needed for assistance in relaxing the proper area and letting in enough water to get things going. This is not uncommon from the research I did. I also find the “front wash” very usable for wider area massage and relaxation, it’s still a little focused to replace a sitz bath therapy but it’s effective.
As other reviews note, the dryer is pretty marginal, takes time to heat up and most of the hot air can’t escape the bowl interior. I give it a minute to dry the sensitive central area it’s aimed at, then towel off the rest. But it’s better than the Toto 550’s wider blast that would dry everything fast, that heat causes skin issues for me.
Anyway it’s definitely a good unit, just not perfect.

    UPDATE AUGUST 2020:
    Biobidet died.
Bought through Amazon Canada December 2016, less than 4 years old.
Returned once from Canada TO THE USA AT MY EXPENSE (see thread below) because of leaking a few weeks after installing.
The dying process was a gradual one.
The deodorize feature was the first one.
The drying feature was the second.
The single and for me the most important feature, powerful water pressure worked, till yesterday, July 31 2016, 5 months short of a period of 4 years.
It’s making a low volume train like noise (chu – chu- – chu), all lights are off and no water at all.
Plugged in and off, check out water supply, no change. Remote control is working, no effect on the bidet.
Besides the noise, from its functionality reason for living, it’s dead.
Fortunately I have my “travel bidet” as a temporary relief unit having the Biobidet replaced.

Now the challenge is to find a new one.
The BB-2000 is still the one offering the highest water pressure, Toto in second place.
I know this after trying it out myself.
The 1000 rolls of toilet paper question is: more water pressure or reliability.

CANADIANS BEWARE DECEIVING PRACTICE. PRODUCT SOLD AND MAILED FROM WITHIN CANADA BUT SERVICED IN THE USA. BUYER PAYS SHIPPING. THERE IS NO WARNING ABOUT THIS PRACTICE, ONLY A STATEMENT OF 3-YEAR WARRANTY. SHIPMENT TO THE USA ONE WAY IS ABOUT U$ 80.

I got the SECOND unit -the first started leaking within a week and returned- and was pleased with it for… less than five months. See below for full story. FIVE months later, it started dripping, constant drip. Call customer service: return the unit. Pay for shipment to the USA, sort out your customs and wait, sometime, someday you’ll get your repaired unit back.

This is the email I sent to Biobidet tech support as a response:
This is a DECEIVING practice from your side. The 3-year warranty is basically equal to NO WARRANTY considering the shipping costs. You are advertising AND selling the product on the Canadian Amazon site, AND the unit is BEING SHIPPED FROM CANADA. As a consequence, a buyer like me believes the 3-year warranty will be also honored WITHIN Canada and, worst case scenario we will be paying Canadian shipping costs. However, not only we have to pay to ship to the USA but to fill customs forms and who knows how long to wait to get the unit back.

I have no idea why I am explaining this to you since I am sure I am not the first one and will not be the last to get stuck with a Biobidet sold and mailed from Canada and serviced in the USA.

It’s quite obvious I am going to complain to Amazon about this practice, NOT because you are charging for shipping but BECAUSE IT IS NOT INDICATED ON THE WEBSITE ON THE CONDITIONS OF SALE, HAVING DIRECT IMPACT OVER THE WARRANTY WHILE BEING BOUGHT FROM CANADA.

previously posted experience with the first unit.
installed and… immediately started leaking every time it is used, not from the water intake but from somewhere underneath the body of the device. Contacted service department, got a fast response from two technicians. The first one suggested to reinstall, install, reinstall. No change, the Bio Bidet kept leaking. Called second time. Very happy for the fast response. A different technician this time. Got the impression this fellow knew the device better than the previous one. In short “return it”. This is what I did and now I am stuck since based on the previous experience I have no Idea what to buy now. This one was replacing a 6-year-old Brondel I decided to retire it from service because it was turning yellowish. Besides, wanted to check a different brand, expecting more pressure and the so exciting ‘enema feature’ …:) As usual, grateful I bought it through Amazon!

Update. The defective unit returned. Got a replacement. No leaks this time. The unit performs as it claims: good water pressure, good ‘enema’ feature. Seat warming up fast, water remains warm for as long as it is working. As in all reviews, there have to be something to comment so the manufacturer and/or other potential buyers can be aware of. The unit is NOISY. The sound it makes when operating in either washing or drying will be heard outside the bathroom. Obviously, this can also be an advantage by letting others know the bathroom is in use. The penalty of one star is for its noise.

I am a colo-rectal cancer survivor! As with people who have irritable bowl syndrome and similar diseases, people like me spend a LOT more time on the toilet than others do. Without getting into the details, for people like us this is a HUGE life changer and has eliminated a lot of pain.

I have owned this product for over two years now and am delighted with it. Hence the 5 star review. It’s not without a few nits and, frankly, it has too many gizmos and gadgets. I would have preferred a cheaper unit without all the unnecessary functions. A few points:

    B. WHAT I REALLY LIKE: It just plain works and works well! I also really like how the cover doesn’t slam shut. It goes down slowly. A silly thing, but we have two small kids at home. Our other toilet is constantly slamming down when our kids use it. This one is blessedly quiet when putting the lid down!

    A. SUGGESTED IMPROVEMENTS: Two things bug me about this unit in my daily use:

    1. THE ON/OFF BUTTONS SHOULD BE SEPARATE FROM THE REST: The only buttons I press on a daily basis are the on and the off buttons, yet they are mixed in with the other buttons that are rarely used. In fact, once you set the other settings, I rarely every use the other buttons. So to make this easier for actual day to day use, the on and off buttons should be bigger and set apart from the rest.

    2. THE AUTO-OFF FUNCTION: This is the ultimate in frustration. The thing is always shutting off after two minutes. Yes, I understand that for most people this is probably fine. But, for those of us with ‘special’ needs, why oh why is there not at least a setting to turn this off and let us choose when to shut it off? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to start it up again after it shut itself off. And there is a good wait between, because the unit cleans itself and then retracts then comes out again, leaving the user have to sit there and wait. Either get rid of the auto-off or allow it to be switched off as a setting.

If the two changes above were made it would be a near perfect product.

    C. NOT NEEDED: If I were buying again, I’d spend less and get a unit without these features:

    1. HEATED SEAT: I live in Canada so you’d think I would like this, but our condo is kept warm all year. I don’t need this. A couple time it was put on by accident it has freaked out guests. Depending on how you set it, it can get really warm – almost hot! And with kids pushing buttons, I’ve been surprised several times when sitting down, literally, on ‘the hot seat’ 🙂

    2. DRYER FAN THING: What the heck is this? I tried it a few times when I first installed the unit and its pointless. I don’t like it for the same reason I don’t like hand dryers in public bathrooms. It just takes too long. I’m not going to sit there for 3 to 5 minutes to let this thing blow-dry my hiney. Life is too short. There is a perfectly good drying device right there – toilet paper. A quick dab and you are done. While this ‘sounds nice’ as a marketing point, I can’t imagine anyone in real life would want to sit there as long as it takes to actually dry your bumm. A waste of space and cost.

So, ya, I have nits, but if you are someone who has some disease or condition that requires you to use the toilet frequently, this (or something like it) is literally a life changer! Makes living with my condition far far easier. So much so that I kind of dread leaving our home for very long! If you don’t have this kind of disease you’ll probably not understand and won’t want to know the details. But for someone like me, if you need to use the toilet frequently, buy a quality bidet like this one. YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT!!

So we got our first bidet seat for xmas 2018. It was a Brondell E600. Just to set the stage…I am 6’3″ and weigh about 270lbs and my wife is 5’8″ and weighs about 160lbs. We really liked everything about this bidet with one exception. It has a water tank with heater and the warm water would run out within about 15-20 seconds even though most everything I read said it would last 40-60 seconds. Now, it really only takes about 10-15 seconds of washing to get the job done BUT…I like to let it go a little longer just to make sure it’s all nice and clean on the ole bottom so we would run out of warm water most of the time. Due to this, we decided to move that seat to our kid’s bathroom and order another one for me and the wife. Wifey said that the Brondell E600 also didn’t seem like it hit the right spot on her front wash and she had to wiggle around a bit to get that done but it wasn’t a deal breaker for her because she liked everything else about it. We started shopping around again and decided on the Biobidet BB-2000.

Biobidet BB-2000 – This seat has a lot of features but we felt like the quality of this seat was not as good as the Brondell. We also noticed that the seat did not stay very warm. It seemed like it was just about room temp all the time, after you sat down for about 30 seconds you could feel it start warming up. It almost seemed like it was in eco mode all the time no matter whether it was set to low or high. It did seem to have an endless supply of warm water no matter how long you let the wash cycle run. I ended up contacting someone at bidetking.com and asking about the seat warming and was told that they have one in their office and it’s the same way. We decided the cost was too much to just settle so we returned it and have now ordered a Brondell swash 1200.

Brondell Swash 1200 – waiting on delivery so can’t say at this time but feel confident we will love it.

    Summary:
After owning a Brondell, a Biobidet and a Alpha JX we have decided that of them all we liked the Brondell brand a lot more. It just seems like the quality is better. The seat is nice and toasty at all times even on the low and medium settings. On the Biobidet and the Alpha we noticed when you get up from the toilet the seat wants to lift up with you. That did not happen on the Brondell. Seems like that is due to the heavy dutyness (don’t think that’s a real word) of the seat of the Brondell. The lid of the Biobidet seemed very flimsy and weak. The Alpha was better in that regard. The Alpha seemed to clean the worst of them all that we’ve tried. This is a significant investment (well worth it in our opinion) and you should be completely satisfied since you will be using it daily. We truly believe based on experience now that the amount of toilet paper we will save the seat will pay for itself in 2 yrs or less.

Obviously, there is a fair amount of personal preference with an item like a bidet but for us, we think the Brondell brand is significantly better quality than all the others we tried. I can also say that I used to travel to Japan quite a bit and they almost solely use Toto brand there so I have tried them also and the Brondell brand seems everybit as good as a Toto and Brondell seems to have more features for less money than Toto.

My wife said that both the Biobidet and the Alpha did a better job washing her front parts but I believe that’s because they both have 2 separate wands (one for the rear and one for the front) which allows for better washing of a ladies parts than just having one wand for both like the Brondell E600 we had first. The new Brondell swash 1200 we have ordered has 2 wands so we are expecting it to wash her front lady parts as well as the Biobidet and Alpha.

No matter which one you choose, if you have never had a bidet seat, I think you’ll find it’s a game changer and you’ll wonder how you have gone so long and never owned one. We will never be without one again. It works so much easier and better than toilet paper and/or wipes. Is better for your sewer or septic system and the environment. The Brondell washed so well that even after the wash you can wipe with toilet paper and find the paper will be completely clean! Other than using the single piece of toilet paper to dry off with, you wouldn’t need to wipe at all. That reminds me, the dryer function on them all is pretty much worthless so don’t let that be a deciding factor in your evaluation of any of them. Oh, and my wife really likes the blue nightlight function on the Brondell too. Hope this helps anyone who is shopping to help you make a decision and get the most bang for your buck.

This bidet seat the BB2000 Bliss is an absolute game changer. We’ve done a lot of research and even tried but returned a TOTO seat. The functions are excellent and the remote is quite intuitive. I watched a YouTube demonstration for the remote and it was simple. I wish the remote was backlit but on the other hand there is a lit up panel on the side with the stop and rear and front washes so no need for the remote. The only drawback for us was the very bright blue LED light on that side panel that lit up the whole bathroom and our bedroom at night. We solved that problem with adding an electronic timer to the GFI outlet. This shuts off the unit at 11:00 pm till 7:00 am. PS – we live in the country with a septic field so the drastically decreased amount of toilet paper going into it is a huge benefit in keeping the septic tank clean.
