Compared to seed alone, your lawn will grow 2 times faster (when applied at the new lawn rate, subject to proper care). Use on either new lawns or overseeding existing grass. Scotts Turf Builder revolutionary sun and shade seed mix grows green, lush grass, in just weeks (see grass grow in 12 to 21 days)! Grass seed germinates best when temperatures are between 60°F and 80°F and after any chance of frost, usually in the Fall and Spring. To apply, rake the top layer of soil before applying grass seed with a Scotts spreader. For best results, water twice daily for at least 3 weeks. Each 5.6 lb. bag seeds 2,800 sq. ft. based on overseeding rate. Do not use weed control products until your lawn has been established (mowed at least 4 times), if you already applied weed control, please see those package directions on when to plant grass seed. Finally, be sure to apply Scotts Lawn Food products every 8 weeks throughout the season to help maintain your thick, green lawn.

Rapid Grass is an awesome product. The Sun & Shade Mix helped patch my lawn from major damage that happened last fall. Within 25 days my lawn was plush and barefoot ready!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had some bare and patchy spots through out our yard that we needed to repair. We tried the Scott’s rapid grass sun and shade mix and it seems to have done the trick. I like this product because we have different parts of of yard that get full sun and some that get no sun, so it was great that we could use this all over without worrying about how much sun it needed. The sprouts took a little bit to grow but once they did, they look great! Our yard is finally getting plush and green all over. The mix was easy to apply and I would buy it again.

I have never done a lawn before-a basically googled instructions. my front yard was rocky dirt (a large tree came down last fall in a storm). I had 3 yd topsoil delivered & raked it out by hand. I thoroughly watered, seeded well, and applied straw. I watered once daily about 15-20min with lawn sprinkler. to be honest I was getting nervous. Well, on day 10-BAM! I noticed I had shoots everywhere and got really excited. I raked off about 1/2 the straw and reseeded some areas I missed. I can’t believe how much it’s grown! Everything I read said 4-5 weeks, so this was AMAZING.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used Scotts Rapid Grass- Sun & Shade to fill in bare spots & reseeding front & rear yard lawn sections. Wow! both have successfully grown in the heat of Las Vegas in Sun & Shade. This is only 3 weeks after seeding , you can see results. Now we are in 107 degree heat in early June & Scotts Sun & Shade is performing exceptional. No Burning or Wilting, this is robust new growth along the driveway edges & the rest is a thickened lawn where I reseeded applying Scotts Sun & Shade 3 weeks ago in early May. If it grows here it will perform for you. My only challenge is getting up & out at 5 AM every day to chase the Pigeons & Doves away & of course watering to start new growth. I use a hand rake to gently turn the soil so the seed is in soft dirt then water it in. For the Main Lawn Scotts is taking very well providing a thicker lawn you can see & feel when walking on it just a little. This is also choking out a horrible Bermuda Grass on the front which is a relentless weed. 97% of my lawn is Tall Fescue.

Now they look full and thriving better than before. I still have some other places to show but they are not quite full enough. I will submi more pictures when they are thick and full. Would definitely recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After properly preparing the site for planting and ensuring the seed had consistent watering, the grass began sprouting in just a few days. At 21 days, it is now extremely thick and providing excellent coverage. Before using this product I had trouble getting grass to grow in this area due to the shade and large tree, but this all changed once I used this excellent Scotts product. This was even done in late spring when the conditions were not ideal and I still had amazing results.

I bought this couple of days back and applied in my front lawn patch areas. As per instructions, I have started with removing dead grass and racked the soil. Applied Scott brand lawn soil layer and spread out seeds with hand. Couple of times in a day I am watering the patched area and I don’t see any results, will update my review post 2 weeks to share the results

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Rapid Grass turf builder Rapid Grass Sun and shade worked great for me. I did use it on a few large spot areas and a few smaller ones too. I found it to do better in the smaller areas right away, which makes sense.
On one of the larger areas it seems like after about 12 days I should have added more product to the larger spots that had full sun , it didn’t pop as fast as the smaller areas, which makes sense. I should have bought a bigger bag to better cover the larger areas that I had.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are three types of cool season grass seed in the package and all of them are quality cultivations. The reason why it called “rapid grass” is it contains 25% of perennial ryegrass.
It germinates pretty fast so it acts as a helper to prevent other seeds moving by the rain. Pretty happy with the result so far!
