Does it get rid of brassiness? Yes. Does it make your hair smell like a grandmother’s expired potpourri? Yes. Does it make your hair feel dry if you don’t use an oil or second moisturizing conditioner afterwards? Yes. Is it worth your money? Actually, Yes! Using this one or two days a week will help keep your hair platinum, and you get a lot of product for the price (bought the large bottle). Just follow up with something that actually moisturizes you’re hair, because this won’t….And your hair might smell faintly like grandma for a day.

Yes, go for it. This is my second bottle. Love it. One of the best products for me. I lam blond and eave it for about 15 seconds, give a nice touch, removes yellow, didn’t damage the hair. I’ve been using it for 3 years or may be a not longer.

I use Shimmer Lights to tone my bleached brassy blonde hair (my natural hair is black) rather than a conditioner to moisturize my hair. *Reason why I put moisturizing as a 4star is because there are better conditioners/masks tbh but this works as well.
but for getting rid of the brass this is GREAT. Been using for years because I don’t like doing the toner/developer mix on my already damaged hair.
Makes my hair white/purple when I leave it in long (like 5min+) which is the look i’m going for 🙂

I have very light blonde highlights, and this conditioner turns them into a bright silvery color. My hair also tends to get brassy and yellow on the ends, and Shimmer Lights keeps my hair ash-toned and counters the brassiness perfectly. The product does give better results the longer you leave it on (or alternatively, the more often you use it). I would recommend this to anyone who wants a low-cost toning conditioner, although I can say that I don’t recommend the shampoo, as I’ve found it to be far too drying. I also really like the scent, and it leaves my hair feeling soft and non-greasy.

Was not sealed for shipping and the bag it was in was filled with product. I know the product is great not the first time I buy it but loosing 1/3 of it in the bag was very disappointing

It certainly helps you go blonder/silver, but after multiple uses I’ve started to use a store bought conditioner after using this one because my hair feels sticky once I rinse Clairol out. It also turns your hands purple, so now when I use this product I use gloves in the shower to lather both the shampoo and conditioner. Other than those 2 concerns, I really enjoy this product, my natural highlights are now bright and I get compliments on my hair often.

Worst ever. The bottle came and was leaking so half of it was gone. The icing on the cake was seeing that it expired back in 03/2019. Will never buy again. Should report them because who knows what other cheap/fake expired stuff they sell.

I get lots of compliments on the shine and color of my hair, largely thanks to this product. Most effective with the shampoo.

Product arrived leaking all over the box. Someone appears to have half-heartedly slapped a piece of scotch tape over the lid as a solution to something. Product is all over inside of box. Is this really the best that can be done? I have no interest in taking the time to return this. Maybe someone could get interested in doing the job right in the first place?

I have naturally white/blonde hair which tends to yellow slightly now and again…..by using this every 3rd shampoo it keeps the yellow away beautifully – leave on for about 3 minutes after fully rubbing it into every section thoroughly and you’ll be delighted by the results – such a tiny, tiny hint of ash/purple – so cool……really nice smell too….

I have tried so many that claim to tone down brassiness, but this is the best. It’s a very deep purple color so it has enough pigment to actually help. But it does not turn your hair purple at all, just softens it to a nice shade like when you first color it. I don’t buy it for it’s moisturizing, conditioning so much as for toning my hair. I use it a couple of weeks after I color when my hair starts getting brassy. I leave it in for about 5 minutes, towel dry then put a lightweight leave-in conditioner on it, ( Infusium 23 Pro. Awesome stuff). Then I took my hairstylist’s advice and put a little dab of deep conditioner on just the ends. If I’m going to use a curling iron I also spray a heat protector on it. I get a lot of complements. Those are the reasons why.

Great for my highlighted colour. Light weight conditioning that rinses cleanly. No heavy scent. This is my second purchase of this product and I’ll buy it again!

This stuff is the bomb for anyone with colored/bleached blonde hair. I got some blonde highlights a while ago, but I don’t really have the time or money to touch them up or get them toned. My hair gets brassy so fast and it drives me nuts. If I let my hair soak in this stuff when I condition, my blonde literally comes out platinum/white. Every time I wash my hair people think I got it redone and I always get compliments. The only downside is that, in my opinion, it’s absolutely worthless as an actual conditioner. I would definitely use it *with* your regular conditioner. This stuff is just great for the color. 11/10, would recommend. I’ll use it for life whenever I have blonde in my hair.
