I have the Red and have ordered two Blue versions. It turns out they are tuned differently. The Red is Richter in C. That’s blow: C-E-G-C-E-G-C-E-G-C. And draw: D-G-B-D-F-A-B-D-F-A.
But the Blue is tuned Solo in C. That’s blow: C-E-G-C-C-E-G-C-C-E. And draw: D-F-A-B-D-F-A-B-D-F.
As of 11/28/2021, if you select the Red version on Amazon, the description shows two inconsistent images depicting the tuning, one with Richter and one with Solo. Selecting other colors appears to show only the image depicting Solo tuning.
The first time I bought the Blue (to distinguish it from the Red we already owned, and so our kids would know which is theirs), I thought the tuning was wrong and returned it. After getting a second Blue with the same tuning, I did a little more research and discovered Solo tuning.

This harmonica is amazing! We have a cheap metal one and it just does not compare to Hape’s harmonica! All three of my kids (7, 5, and 2.5) love this toy. It’s a really nice weight and the sound is great. The video doesn’t do it justice. If your kids like musical instruments, I highly recommend!

This high-quality harmonica shipped quickly to us in pristine new packaging. We included it in a Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Shoebox as a “wow” gift, along with other items. It is universally appropriate for a boy or girl anywhere in the world and is compact, durable, allows creativity and musical expression and doesn’t need any batteries! Very pleased.

Bought this for our grand daughter and walked in 4days later and there was her Dad- our son- playin’ on the thing… He raved about this because he used to play harmonicas as a young boy…he told us the build and sound of this one raised it way above “kiddie ‘monicas…”

I initially thought, “why am I spending this much $$ on a harmonica for my 1 year old?” But after a couple months of my ears NOT bleeding every time she plays it, I profusely thank my past self for listening to reviews of other grateful parents and just buying the thing! It is well-constructed, easy to grab with little hands, and (all-importantly) actually MELODIC!! Both me and my husband are so amazed and relieved. We actually enjoy listening to LO play it! No box grater against the eardrum insanity! If you want your musical tot to express themselves without you losing your mind, get this. 👍👍

Don’t get a junk harmonica because you think it doesn’t matter how it sounds if it’s a kids toy. Get this one – it sounds really nice and it is very well designed. The face is rounded so no sharp or hard edges. It’s sturdy. And it sounds great. My son (2.5yo) started blowing after receiving it for christmas and nobody wanted to to run away screaming and clawing their ears. It’s always nice to to find instruments for kids that care about sounding like a real instrument while respecting price and durability. Good job.

My son (21 months) likes to play music, and I decided to get him this on a whim, because it had multiple notes and it’s super portable. I wasn’t sure if he would figure it out, but I also figured it was worth a shot.
He LOVES this. Possibly one of the best toy purchases I ever made. He will walk around the house playing his harmonica. Because it makes two different notes when you blow out and suck in, it’s actually easier for him than some of the other instruments, and it sounds decent. I really like how portable it is too.
Only con is that I’m not sure how to clean it.

The sound is lovely. Just bad luck the third hole completely out of tune. Playing with out of tune toy does more harm than good. For this price range it’s not too much to expect.

I got this for my 2 year old (28 months) for her Easter basket. What a hit it was! She got the hang of it within two or three tries and the sound is actually really good. I tried it out too and every hole makes sound. The price seems a bit steep for a child’s harmonica, but I think the quality and sound can’t be beat! Two big thumbs up from me! It would make a great addition to an Easter basket or stocking stuffer, or would even be great as a stand alone gift.
