these dont leak like everyone says they do, glass bottle are amazing i love them haven’t dropped one yet so i dont know if it’ll break on the first drop but you have to make sure you line up that nipple notch to the cap notch so it doesn’t leak and the that the nipple is pulled up and secured properly 🙂

UPDATE TO THE UPDATE 4/2/2018. I’ve added photos below, the NIPPLE WITH THE SWIRL AT THE TOP is the one that I’ve found to LEAK! The 2 pack without the swirl PLAIN DESIGN happens to work much better, NO LEAKAGE. I had broken my daughters last glass Avent bottle she has had since 1 yr. of age just recently, It NEVER LEAKED AT THE NIPPLE, this new bottle however does NOT SEAT PROPERLY the tiny air vent square hole at the side of the nipple where it seats against the hard plastic threaded top that screws both to the threaded glass bottle DOES LEAK, it seems if it’s not seated just right on the hard plastic treadeded cap it will leak every time! I have a remedy that will help just read a little further… Okay now I’ll start with the initial update: I’ve noticed others posting a problem with leakage in their reviews, we’ve not experienced this, HOWEVER, I’ve noticed the top/nipple is difficult to screw into place securely at times when BRAND NEW. TRICK/TIP: run the assembled nipple screw side up under water prior to screwing it on, this allows smooth and added ease when tightening the top, REMEMBER: there the top is firmily secure when it gives a bit at the end of the tightening, you will feel a very slight/subtle “CLICK/POP” into place feeling, there should be no leakage if this is done every time prior to use. NOW ON WITH THE REVIEW… there are several things we love about this bottle, it’s BPA FREE! Glass is truly the ONLY way to ensure your child isn’t consuming microscopic amounts of plastic which can cause cancer to form in cells. It’s also much safer to use in a microwave, usually pop it in for about 1 minute & 10-15 seconds, always test before giving it to your little one, some microwave ovens can be more intense heat than others. Microwaves in general aren’t 100% healthy for us as they do change the molecular chemistry of our foods/milk when heated, however using glass is the SAFEST. This bottle is easy to clean and our daughter loves it! We love it too! The only thing that would make it better is the silacone sleeve which your able to buy here on Amazon be included in the box. Or at least offered as an add on item during checkout. It really can save from a breakage.

UPDATE: Phillips avent customer service was horrible. Called to tell them about the leaking problem.
First call: They lady said I was not putting the bottle together correctly, we did it together on the phone, bottle was still leaking, so she put me on hold in the middle of me talking and never came back.
Second call: I finally made it to the manager that proceeded to tell me that the baby is sucking to hard that’s why its leaking.
Third call: Another manager told me that all they can do is mail me some coupons. The bottles are not the issue.
Save your time, money, and clothes buy something else.
We purchased these bottles because they are glass and not plastic. We have 13 of them. They are very good bottles except for one very big problem, they leak and almost all the time. They leak from the nipple area as well as from where the plastic ring screws onto the glass bottle. This was an issue before boiling them, or putting them in the dishwasher. We will not purchase any more of these as you will need paper towel every time you do a feed.

Muy faciles de lavar y más higienicos que los de plástico. Ademas la tetina es muy suave, por lo que mi bebé que es lactancia materna exclusiva los aceptó de inmediato. El precio en paquete es muy bueno. Sirven para llevar la leche a las guarderías del IMSS

Happy so far. Unlike some reviewers, I haven’t had any break or leak. I recommend like anything glass if you drop it once do not sterilize. The hot water will crack it. Maybe that’s what happened to the other people? Learned that from restaurant work, if glass falls and doesn’t shatter throw it away because it will shatter soon. Anyway no leaks yet either. I think the nipples are too big though I even bought the smaller number ones separately and she still can chug a bottle like a 20 year old with cheap beer and get sick after so just be careful not to let them gulp too much.

No había encontrado biberones Avent de vidrio en las tiendas , así que fué una grata sorpresa encontrarlos por aquí , a un mejor precio y con entrega de al día siguiente. Prefiero usar vidrio en la medida de lo posible porque me parece mucho más higiénico que el plástico y esta es una estupenda solución. Los biberones son un poco más pesados , obviamente , pero es un detalle menor. En general me gustaron bastante . El empaque venía intacto y la entrega inmediata excelente. Muy satisfecha con esta compra.

We have a love-hate relationship with glass baby bottles. We wouldn’t consider using anything else other than glass for our baby due to concerns about chemicals, and have come to accept the inevitable downsides of glass bottles in general (not just Avent), such as:
– The possibility of breaking. Yes, even borosilicate glass can break if dropped or knocked over on a hard surface. Avent glass bottles tend to break a bit more easily than the Life******* brand ones that we started out using when our baby was a newborn. (We’ve broken two Avent bottles so far, both after knocking them over on granite surfaces.) We switched over to Avent completely because their nipples and screws seemed better, which brings me to my next point…
– The plastic screw may not fit perfectly on the glass top, which means there can be leaks. We had a lot of leakage issues with Life******* bottles which is why we switched to Avent. It’s less of a problem with these Avent bottles but it does happen every now and then. The plastic screws on new bottles fit well and screw on nicely without leaks, but after a while they start fitting less well and cause leaks. I think the plastic screws and nipples change shapes slightly with lots of use (washing, sterilizing, etc.) which is what causes the leaks. It might just be that glass cannot be molded perfectly to fit the plastic screws.
– Our 10-month old baby can’t hold the bottles by herself when drinking from one because they’re heavy. She can hold other plastic sippy cups to drink but not these glass bottles.
Despite these issues, we are satisfied and will continue to use these Avent glass bottles until our baby no longer needs bottles. Overall, we think the advantages of using glass bottles far outweigh the disadvantages, and these Avent bottles are by far our favorite glass bottles!

La rosca donde se cierra tiene un diseño defectuoso por querer ser innovador. El resultado es que al cerrar, con frecuencia se desvía y aunque parece cerrado, al momento de inclinarlo para alimentar al bebé este va fugando la leche sobre el pecho del bebé. Uno cree que está tomando la leche rápidamente, pero luego notas que se le empapó el pecho y terminas cambiando a la pobre criatura a media noche. Cuando nos pasó la primera vez pensamos que había sido un error de nuestra parte, pero ya van 3 veces, así que la conclusión es que NO SON DE FIAR. Son más seguros los de la marca PIGEON.

Compre estas mamilas para mi pequeña de 6 meses, ya que considero que el cristal es mucho más limpio que el plástico, no guarda olores y la limpieza es sencilla. Tengo también el esterilizador de la misma marca y al ser así es muy sencillo el proceso. No he tenido ningún problema y estoy muy contento con la calidad y precio de los biberones. Es la segunda vez que los adquiero ya que la única desventaja es que pueden romperse. 100% Recomendado.

I just got it. Product arrived as described. I recently switched to glass bottles for health reasons (manufacturers tell you that they are BPA free but they will not tell you what they are adding instead, like BPS which is equally bad for humans). I wish I made that research earlier and exchanged the plastic avent set that I got for baby shower for glass one. Overall I like Avent bottles because nipples are wide and do not collapse. I like the glass because it is easier to clean, does not retain any stench and I know that it is not leaching any harmful substances.
