This card is mandatory for me to shoot any medium to large sized event. Allows me to shoot about 2k photos and the write speed is quick enough to preview photos without needing to wait. I came here to buy another one, so I figured I’d give it a review while I’m at it. For reference to all the other photo dorks out there, I shoot with a 5DS and 60mb file size, so it will likely be fast enough for you too.

Fast, plenty of storage. I use it on my D850. I am able to shoot 7 fps at a full resolution of 45.7 MP. No issues so far.

Needed this so I could use my digital camera. Works great!

I use shoot with a Sony a99ii digital camera in RAW (not compressed RAW so image file sizes are 85-86MB each) in dual-write mode (write the image to two cards simultaneously). For the last several years I’ve been using the SanDisk Extreme Pro UHS-1 95MB/s SDXC cards. While reliable (zero issues with any SanDisk card) in real life they’re not as fast as they’d have you think and they tend to be expensive for what you get, IMHO. They have, however, been fast enough for my needs and if I can find a pair cheap (and not counterfeit) they’re a reasonable deal.
I recently picked up a Minolta (Sony) 80-200 G ‘white’ SSM lens to pair with a second a99ii body to shoot wildlife so I needed memory cards, eye cup, screen protector, strap, etc. After doing a bunch of research on both the SanDisk and Lexar cards, I decided to try the Lexar Silver Series cards in 256GB rather than my ‘traditional’ Sandisk 128GB cards. I have half a dozen Lexar CF cards for my Sony a900 and I’ve always been really happy with them. Generally my experience has been that the Lexar cards sell at a premium and are harder to get than the SanDisk cards. Shopping around I found that the reverse is now appears to be true.
+1 for Lexar – their cards are almost 1/2 the cost of the SanDisk cards @ half the capacity. The Lexar 256GB cards were 45% cheaper than the 128GB SanDisk cards.
+2 for Lexar – their cards are quite a bit faster reading than the SanDisk cards. I didn’t bother to ‘time’ them. Read speed isn’t a big to me since I can slap a card into my USB 3.1 reader and let it download however many GBs of images while I do something else (like get a cup of coffee). 🙂 Even so, the read speed difference is enough that its VERY obvious which card is faster.
+3 for Lexar – their cards are quite a bit faster writing than the SanDisk cards, too. THIS MATTERS to me! Lets do some math: Writing to two (2) cards means that for every image taken the camera is writing (apx) 172MB (2x86MB). Slow write speed is occasionally a PITA if the weather and/or lighting is changing quickly and you need to take a look at what you shot to see if you need to change anything because while the camera is writing the image you’re at a standstill. Now, if you’re taking a series of shots in continuous mode (sports, wildlife, whatever) and fill the buffer which (if I remember correctly) is 11 shots, the same thing happens. Until the buffer clears you are stalled. 172MB * 11 shots = 1.9GB. Writing 1.9GB of images can take a LONG time on cards with a low write speed so if like me you’re shooting bursts in continuous mode, the faster the write speed the better off you are – on any camera. Again I didn’t officially time this but after three years and 50-60K exposures, I have a pretty good feel for things. IMHO, the Lexar cards are at lest 30% faster and I would tend to lean more towards 40%. Like the read speed, the difference between cards is VERY noticeable.
How long will these last? I have no idea, but I have Lexar CF cards from the early 2000s that were used on my Minolta 7Ds and are still in use on my a900s and I’ve never had so much as a hiccup out of them. Or any Lexar memory card for that matter.
Something to keep in mind if you’re thinking of buying XDSC cards – both SanDisk and Lexar R/W speeds are DIFFERENT depending on the memory capacity. This isn’t documented very well (by anyone) but in my experience the lower capacity cards (=128GB). Make sure you read all the fine print before purchasing.
Overall, I give these cards a thumbs up. I would definitely buy again!

I’m very pleased with my new set of Lexar cards. Lexar is my go-to for photography. To format my new set (in-camera, of course), I needed a firmware update for my D810. On the day, my new set of Lexar cards seemed to write faster than my older set and performed flawlessly.

I’m using this in a Sony AR Mk2 camera (42 megapixel stills and 4K video at 100mbps). The card holds up well to the demands placed on it by the camera and the higher speed certainly helps when saving images to the card.

Needed a card for my Zoom L8 mixer/recorder. This one listed good transfer rates that I needed to make sure the recording is flawless.
RMW –
another good quality SD card from Lexar.
Very good writing and reading speed.

Plugged it into the slot in my New 2022 Corvette C8 and it worked like a charm. Now I get automatic dash cam vids on every drive all the time. Perfect!
