we love this lamp and still do but unfortunately out puppy got his teeth into the remote soon after my daughter got this for Christmas and she was devastated by this.

I contacted the company through Amazon to order a new replacement remote and they flat out told me “nope sorry we can’t sell you one it’s not available”. I was honest and told them it was not defective but was damaged on our end and now we are with a lamp that can only be run if our wifi and internet is up and running which seriously we live in the middle of nowhere so that’s hit and miss, we really would love to buy another remote to operate this lamp there is no light with a switch in her room it’s a 150-year-old house.

Great features and good brightness. However, I cannot understand why they designed the LED, when facing toward the wall, the power cable sticks out in front of the base of the unit. This is a poor design as it could have been much cleaner to have the power cable coming out the back of the unit while the LED is reflecting towards the wall. A bit disappointed with this design choice.

I kind of love this lamp. I find I use it way more for lighting effects then as a traditional lamp but it’s great. Easy setup and impresses my visitors maybe a little too much lol.

I love LED lights and this floor lamp is amazing. I am only pissed that I didn’t get the discount and paid full price instead of getting the Black Friday price. It has more modes than the traditional Govee products. It has some assembly required and it is a little tricky but doable. However, once assembled it is very very easy to use and sync. The modes that react with music are amazing, you can make your own, you can also use it for studying or lighting up your room. The night light mode is very useful too. I have it set up with Alexa so I can turn it on and off whenever. Actually, I created a routine for the lights. I also have it set up on my IFTTT.

No issues with the lamps so far but they dropped the price same week I got mine delivered So just be aware that you might be overcharged

Yes, it looks beautiful. Also has a nice variety of effects. However, could not connect it to my wifi. Like most everyone, both my 2.4 and 5 GHz wifi bands have the same name (SSID). All my devices, lights, remotes and automation connect to the appropriate bandwith… except for this light strip. It refuses to connect to the 2.4 GHz. The instructions wants me to rename my 2.4 GHz separate from my 5 GHz and that’s just not going to happen in my configuration and there really shouldn’t be any need to. I have many things that can only connect to 2.4 GHz and it has never been a problem before this strip. I did buy a different corner strip along with this one and had zero issues connecting with the other one. Buyer beware if you use the same names for your wifi bands.

UPDATE: After two days of different attempts, I have managed to connect this lamp to my wifi without renaming my 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. All is now well and have upgraded review to 4 stars.

Many of you are wondering about the difference between this lamp, the Lyra, and the cheaper black Govee Corner Floor Lamp (which I’ll call the CFL). I got both, so let’s talk about them. And the differences are more than the similarities.

    Similarities
    1. Both lights seem to share about the same brightness. I know the specs say the Lyra has more lumens, but in person at max brightness, they both look about the same.

    Differences
    1. The Lyra looks much nicer with a bit more weight, is silver, and comes with a remote that magnetizes to the unit. Itooks pretty classy actually. The remote let’s you turn it off/on, adjust brightness, and switch through basic colors. The CFL is very lightweight and has no physical switches other than an on/off button. The controller on the CFL is inconveniently placed on the floor along the power cord.

    2. The Lyra seems to offer a few more prebuilt “Scenes” than the CFL. Not that you’ll want to use most of them. But if you like scenes…

    3. About those Scenes, the Lyra seems to operate at a much smoother, slower pace. Which is what you’d want. For some reason, the CFL operates the same patterns at a much faster pace, leaving subtle light color changes (like gradient like shifts, cherry blossom drops, etc) looking jerky and just plain terrible. As in, not usable for ambiance. This seems to be a thing that plagues a number of other Govee lights I have. Not sure if its a fault in manufacturing, a fault in the firmware, but I’ve seen a number of other folks ask about the light transition speeds too. Annoyingly, Govee still hasn’t added the ability to adjust the speed of the scenes on any device I’ve used, let alone these two corner lamps.

    4. The LED strip on the Lyra appears to have a denser array if LED modules than the CFL. This means you can see the individual LEDs on the CFL if you look at the light, but not so much on the Lyra.

    5. On the Lyra, all the Scenes where something is falling, such as a meteor or leaves, has the light emulate from the top then flow to the bottom. On the CFL, most of the scenes are upside down. Example, the Fireworks Scene on the Lyra has the lights starting on the bottom then shoot upwards. On the CFL, the lights start at the top and shoot downward. This is the oddest problem with the CFL, and the reason for 2 stars. Not sure if this is a manufacturer issue (where the LED strip was made backwards, or the firmware needs fixing. It is impossible for the consumer to assemble upside down as only one end has the electrical plug for the lights.

    6. Plan about 10 minutes to assemble either light. You’ll have a bunch of tiny screws, but pretty simple. Instructions are good. That said, you can tell the construction of the Lyra is higher quality than the CFL.

    Final Review:
The Lyra costs about 50% more than the more basic looking Corner Floor Lamp, though for that price you get a far more enjoyable to use lamp with light patterns that work smoothly and correctly.

Overall, I recommend to buy this Lyra lamp and not the Govee Corner Floor Lamp.

Never purchase item from this seller or product. i ordered the product and it was defective and wasn’t working properly. I returned the product before 30 days return policy and i was being charged for restocking fee even though product was defective.

really disappointed. the amazon customer service also didn’t help either.

So mine has a rather huge defect where the top LEDs will spaz out and randomly blink epileptic-style. This is even more prominent on any moving scene where lights will change. As it is, I can only use it with non-changing color and set patterns and then only some will work. Genuinely disappointed cause I was really really looking forward to using all the cool scenes and preset color “dances”.

I have tried several competing products which amazon won’t let me name, but it is clear govee has some good ideas for future proofing and I really prefer govee for dynamic /responsive lighting (ie music and tv watching). Dont need an app and the app is decent.

UPDATE: Govee has contacted me and they will replace the unit. Increasing the rating because of excellent customer support.

I preordered this as soon as I heard about it. The construction looks good and I had no trouble in getting it installed and setup in Govee app.
I noticed that when setting the color to cool bright and on full brightness, the lamp flickers a lot. The problem goes away if the lamp is switched on for some time. I rechecked all the connections and could not fix the issue. I contacted Govee through the app and after asking for a lot of videos and trying different things, they were unable to resolve the issue as well and offered me partial refund. I will replace the lamp through Amazon and hope the next one will not have the same problem.

Easy to put together (one part is the base with 2 extra holes, middle, and top). It stands about 5ft high. Aluminum parts, so it is light and easy to move. Once you have the app on your phone, you can sync with other Govee lamps; group/ general devices to have them all show the same solid color (that has controls to adjust), or command/highlight to sync with immersion TV responses. Best way to see its benefit is to watch a concert in the dark (will sync colors and strobes). Great!
