Don’t even read the rest of this review just get it! This lens is just amazing! For years I waited for a good yet affordable 2.8 mid zoom lens for Nikon. The build quality is amazing, auto focus is precise and it has a reasonable fast aperture. Another cool feature is that it’s focus breathing is under control and that it can focus really close! When paired with the z bodies the lens renders images beautifully. The lens is a no brainer and a go to for events, ceremonies, weddings, street photography, landscape photography, and much much more! With this lens the sky is the limit!

I have always wanted to add this zoom range in f2.8 to my lens lineup but previous versions were too expensive for someone who shoots as a hobby. This lens is a great performer at a great price. It works well in low light siturations and when you want to limit that DOF. You won’t be unhappy with this lens!

This new lens is awesome! were tempted on buying the 24-70mm but that price tag! After some research and watching some reviews on YouTube, we made the right decision. Quality is great and although not a prime, we also are not gonna put it through nothing tough. A great lens at a very competitive price.

Great lense. I will carry this lens for my day to day photography. I am looking further to click some of the photos. I am enjoying it and its light weight.

This lens gives very clean and sharp images with the Nikon colors. The only thing is that it’s not an “S Line” lens, so you do notice a SLIGHT difference in handling and build quality. Still an amazing lens, but if that matters to you, you might be happier with the Z24-70 2.8 (which is about $1000 more).

Great lens for the price. I had my hesitations when i bought it. I had tried the Z S 24-70 f2.8 lens but didn’t have the means to buy a $2000 lens so when I saw this at half the price, I wasn’t sure how it would compare. It doesn’t have quite the same sharpness as the 24-70 or the lens function button or the control ring but honestly, those are things i can live without. The lens is beautiful, gives a nice bokeh, great in low light, can give a lot of depth of field zoomed in, still a great sharpness (just not as much as 24-70mm but for the price difference who cares), and lets me zoom in. The later point being important because up until this lens, I’ve only shot with primes cause well, they’re cheap in comparison. This opens up that flexibility for me so well worth the price. Not gonna lie, I still usually go for my primes (they’re just smaller and so light weight), but when I need something with the flexibility to zoom, this is what I go for. You got me Nikon 🙂 took me years and several cameras in between to find a zoom lens that I can be completely happy with.
