Massive hard drive that is easy to shuck. I got WD whites out of the ones I took apart.
They are a little bit of a pain to get open if you care about not breaking the case, but some cut up credit cards and a YouTube video will show you the method.
Works great in my Synology NAS.

Excellent price for a lot of space! I make movies and always am concerned about space. They have been pretty reliable and I’m very happy with their external drives

Easystore drives are a “MUST HAVE” for me. I would tell you that I have 20 of them laying around the house (not joking) but you’d think I was crazy, right? Right?! In all seriousness though – these things are fast enough, hold tons of data, are easy to throw into the back of a trunk if an emergency comes up and you have to evacuate a home. I highly recommend.

Drive performs well. Stress tested using dban to continuously writw random data to the drive for 7 days straight, followed by a surface scan to check for errors. Tested 6 drives in this manner so far and no errors yet!

This is actually my second 18tb. The first one still works well and is connected to my open media vault server. I needed more space and decided to take advantage of a flash sale. I have had the best luck with western digital out of 4 drives they all still work and I have only had Seagate drives die on me. Even without the flash sale it’s still a good deal at 350$.

This extra large storage capacity is better than a lot of
smaller storage units. I have two of these, a 14 TB and this
18TB units to keep all of my important files readily available.

How do you migrate 14TB’s of data to a new mass storage system with room to spare? The easystore 18TB was the answer and now the easystore serves as a backup to that same mass storage. The migration went reasonable fast in that the transfer speed varied somewhere around 125-175mbps with no errors. Very happy with this purchase.
Tricked –
Beware. WD has mistakenly packaged some with the wrong drives inside. The brand new, sealed 18 TB hard drive that I purchased had a 2 TB hard drive in it, although the label and serial number both indicated an 18 TB drive.
This is not a formatting issue, but a totally incorrect drive inside.
Working with WD right now to hopefully get the issue fixed. The other two I purchased at the same time both had the correct 18 TB drive inside.
