Picked this up to upgrade my PS5, and I’m am very happy with my purchase. You do have to get a 3rd party heatsink, but you can find a quality one on amazon for 12-20 bucks. I got it through the black Friday sale so between that and the heatsink I came out spending 80 bucks less than the same version of this ssd with the integrated heatsink. Since the PS5 requires a gen 4 ssd options are a little limited, but this should be one of your tip choices.

Holly cow! Twice as fast as the standard NVMe 3rd gen. Very satisfied but make sure you download the WD Black Dashboard app so that you can enable the gaming mode. This definitely increased read and write speeds.

Decided to get this over the Samsung 980 pro due to reports that you needed to update Samsung in a PC to unlock higher speeds. Paired the WD Black SN850 1TB with a basic low profile heatsink to fit in the PS5. Works perfectly and has a read speed over 6500. Plays PS5 games perfectly and transfer games so quickly. Very happy with my decision.

You’re wondering if this thing is faster than the money left your account when you swiped and punched your code.
Faster.
You’re wondering if this thing really did load a full install of windows in 4 minutes.
Nope. Did it in less.
I’m wondering if you could somehow attach a tiny itty-bitty parachute to its rear end and send it down the road?
It’d stop the rotation of the earth.
If you’re reading this, you already made the decision to buy it. There isn’t a question.
The only question is how many.

This SSD works great on my PS5. The load times are as good as the system’s internal SSD.

Wickedly fast. If you have a system that fully supports PCIe 4.0 and run applications that require fast read/write, you can’t find a better option. It can get hot as many other reviewers noted, but so far with a motherboard-supplied heatsink I haven’t had any throttling issue. My processing times are more than halved after switching.

Ya it works good. Loads my OS and games super duper fast and hasn’t kicked the bucket in a month. So I guess that’s good. I’m only doing this because I get points. I don’t even know what the points are for, I just want them.
