There’s something to be said about a direct connect wireless monitor and camera system, the simplicity, the dedicated functionality, the speed, and not tying up your smart phone or tablet while using it as a baby monitor.
The Vava Split View is a significant upgrade over our previous units for a few reasons.
-the monitor handheld is very slim and tapered and feels good in your hand. It’s smaller size means you can easily fit it in pajama or jogger pockets while moving it around the house.
-the screen is large and the camera quality is excellent.
-easy to view and use both cameras at once or swap to single view.
-fast operation, easy to turn on and get alerts. Moving the camera is also faster and smoother than our previous camera.
-usb-c on the monitor charger. Would’ve been nice if the cameras also used usb-c.
We have a cloud based solution that we like a lot but we also like having a dedicated device that knows to wake up and alert and then go back to sleep that is responsive and quick to use.
Highly recommend this unit to anyone who wants to monitor their kids and babies.

Setup of this set is super easy. It is a simple plug and play setup. The IPS screen on the monitor is bright, vibrant and sharp as you can see from the attached photo. And due to the limitations of photographing an LCD screen, the photo doesn’t truly show the full clarity. The dual camera and split screen capability is great for monitoring multiple rooms or children. The range between cameras and receiver is excellent with no poor spots nor interference from the microwave or other devices. We stay connected throughout every room and floor of the house. The controls on the monitor are easy and intuitive to operate. Pan, tilt and zoom all function smoothly and quietly with no loud servo noise to disrupt a sleeping infant or toddler. It also has temperature monitoring for each camera and clear night vision. Battery life is sufficient, but not great. Overall, a solid package and good performer. It would be nice if there were a companion app for monitoring on larger screens like a tablet but the tradeoff of being less vulnerable to hacking makes the absence of an app more tolerable.

Simply put, this is the BEST baby monitor I have owned. The monitor I was just using would constantly freeze or jam. This is excellent. I’ve used it for one week and can’t find any reason not to recommend it. The picture is clear and I don’t hear feedback from the other end. I’m only hearing noise when my daughter cries and my wife or I go in to check on her. I wish the volume can go slightly louder than it currently does, but this isn’t a deal breaker.
Setup: Simple and quick. Charge your monitor for a few hours. Plug cameras into the wall and position. The cameras have an on/off switch, so make sure to have that “on” or “off”. I forgot to do this and was trying to trouble shoot why the camera wasn’t working. I had a good laugh when I found the on/off button on the bottom side of the camera.
Efficiency: My old monitor had to be charged everyday and let’s face it, sometimes I’d forget. I’m happy to say I’ve averaged about 2+ days with the battery. My daughter is in bed from about 8pm-7am (camera not on the entire time). The battery life will differ on: how long you use it during the night and your brightness level. I tend to keep it at the darkest setting and use it for about 10 hours, so It’s provided just over 2 nights of use. I’m not sure how the battery will keep, but I’ll take this win if I have to charge it every 3 days. The strength of signal so far is great. Our daughter’s bedroom is on the 2nd floor and the signal is strong while my wife and I are downstairs. You can tell it’s 720p. You’d hope for 4k at $250, but it’s still really clear and crisp.
I know some people have mentioned the kickstand to be a negative. I personally haven’t had an issue with it. I suppose the angle can be changed slightly so its more straight up, but I’m ok with it.
It’s a split screen monitor. The neat thing is you can have both cameras active or use only one. If one of your kiddo’s stirs you can easily select that camera to zoom in and see if there’s something wrong. This is a really cool feature. If you only have one child, you can hook up one camera.
    Pros:
    Strong signal
    Two cameras
    Can talk into it
    Sturdy feel
    Large screen
    Zoom feature
Yet to interfere with other devices
    Battery life is 2+ days
Night vision more clear compared to other monitors
    Cons:
    Can be a tad louder
    Price is tad expensive
Camera wall cord can be a little longer
    Overall:
Excellent baby monitor. It’s a tad expensive, but you can’t argue with how well it’s worked. You pay for what you get and you need an efficient high-quality camera when it comes to your kiddos. I highly recommend this.

Great little camera package. Set up was extremely easy, basically just turn them on. Picture with light and night vison is very clear. Its really nice be able to split screen. You can set one up on the crib and one in elsewhere, like a play area, so if you’ve got multiple kids wandering around, you can keep an eye on everything. The ability to add up to 4 cameras total makes this a very versatile surveillance system.
two way audio is very clear, you can hear what you’re monitoring really well and they can hear you back.
if you’re in a position where you can’t plug in the camera, such as if you’re travelling, the battery life is good. got about 2 and a half days of battery life. Only turning it on when needed.
given the price, it is disappointing that there isn’t the additional wide angle lens. from trying to track one down separately, they’re not too expensive, so it would have been nice to just include it.

Just picked up this VAVA Split screen baby monitor and we are in love with it! This is hands down the best baby monitor we have had, and we have been through a bunch of different brands. First up, the image quality is crisp and clear. Day or night, I am impressed with the image quality. The screen is a 5-inch IPS with HD 720p resolution. I love that you can choose between having a split-screen view, single-screen view, or a rotating screen between camera one and camera two. The cameras have a cute but modern look and can pan 270 degrees and tilt 108 degrees. There is also a zoom option within the menus. Another thing about this baby monitor that I am impressed with is the range. The connectivity is a 2.4GHz FHSS frequency band with an operational range of 300 meters. This monitor can be walked all around the house without any disconnection, our last monitor had to stay in the other room with the volume on high, this one can come with us! I love how the screen shows the time and even has the temperature of the room the camera is in.
Every night so far after we put the kids down for bed, my wife tells me how much she loves this monitor over the previous ones we have had. One of her favorite things, albeit silly, is the fold-out stand on the back of the screen. The kickstand is shaped like an L and acts as the perfect foot to hold the monitor up steady. Previous monitors from different brands only had a peg kickstand and would fall over with the slightest touch. One of my favorite things about the monitor is the two-way talk button, so I don’t have to run up the stairs to tell the kids to get back in bed, I can relay that message from the couch. I like that the cameras have a slot on the bottom so they can be wall mountable. The battery life on the monitor is fantastic, it has up to 18 hours of life with the screen off and the sound on. I have not had any issues with the battery life. I usually use the monitor during the kids’ naps, and then again when they go to bed and it has almost a full charge before I go to bed. I really like how the monitor uses a USB-C for the charging cable. I am a BIG fan of USB-C and love that I can charge the monitor with the same cable I use to charge my phone.
The menus are easy to navigate and easy to understand. There are 5 objects to manipulate in the menu being, volume, brightness, camera and screen, timer, and settings. Each object can be clicked on and there are different settings for each in the dropdown. The only constructive criticism I have for this baby monitor is that I would have liked to see a physical volume toggle switch on the exterior of the screen case. Turning the monitor’s volume up or down is done in the menu, but it is fast and easy, so not a huge concern, but it would have been nice.
Overall, my wife and I really love this product. If you have more than one kid or twins like us, this baby monitor is perfect! VAVA nailed it with this split screen baby monitor.

VAVA offers portability and peace of mind with their Split View Baby Monitor and is a great option to those looking for a baby monitor with a camera option.
The package comes with 2 720p HD cameras along with their power adapters, and a 5″ screen baby monitor device and its’ USB C charger. Everything that’s needed to get the baby monitors up and working is included and the setup was extremely easy. There is no need to setup Wi-Fi as the cameras and baby monitor are on their own looped network although this also means you cannot view the cameras remotely or via your mobile device. I personally prefer this for privacy reasons. I connected the cameras and upon powering the baby monitor on, they seamlessly were connected to it. A great option this baby monitor offers is the option to add more cameras to your monitor system. Four cameras can be added in total, which means 2 more to the setup included in the box.
One of the highlights of this monitor is the ability to be able to see both camera streams side by side (called split-screen), instead of only one at a time. You do have the option to choose whether to view one individual camera as well. The cameras themselves have the ability to zoom in and tilt vertically and horizontally and makes positioning it a much easier task. The video of the cameras was clean and I was able to see and listen to my children clearly. Something to note though is the picture is not as clear as a full 1080p HD video would be. I did not find this to be a great issue since I only use this to monitor my children’s activity and sleep and do not need a great amount of detail in the picture. Additionally, the night vision the camera has is moderate. When the lights are off, you’ll be able to see the spot the camera is pointing to directly (baby on the crib, child on the bed), but will not get much visual on the extreme left or right sides, unless you tilt the camera to that side or up or down.
Other than the video, another thing I wanted to highlight was how easy the baby monitor is to use. Using the buttons to the right of the screen, you are able to view both cameras at one time or select one and view and control only that camera. Using the buttons, you can tilt the camera and also speak using the microphone on the baby monitor. The cameras have embedded speakers and will play the audio you speak while holding the audio button on the baby monitor.
Even though this baby monitor works great, I did notice a few downsides. First, I would’ve liked to see support for full 1080p HD video. Although 720p is fine for most use cases, having a full HD picture would be nicer. Second, there isn’t the ability to record video nor audio. Lastly, the baby monitors themselves are only functional via button clicks. It would be nice to have the option of touchscreen controls.
Despite the cons, the fundamental functions of the baby monitor work flawlessly. Overall, the VAVA Baby Monitor with Split Screen technology is a great option for those looking for a video baby monitor. I can recommend them as the main functions perform extremely well and you will find it does not disappoint.

I am in the process of setting up a baby room. One thing that I needed was a baby monitor/camera system. My past baby monitor system was a tad outdated and didn’t have the best night vision. This new set up is the opposite.
This package is perfect for new parents who are wanting the perfect set up the watch their new little one. We use is for a dual angle set up opposed to two kids, one over top and one for a more wide angle of the room. The package comes with 2 cameras, 1 monitor and 3 chargers. The sound is nice and the movement of the cameras is more than enough to capture the entire room. The picture is much better than any other monitors that I have used in my past too and easier to set up initially.
In conclusion, this monitor has great sound and picture quality and is a breeze to set up. The user interface is easy to navigate between cameras and is more than I had expected in a baby monitor.

Having 2 kids under the age of 4 is a challenge but having eyes on them when I need is priceless.
    Pros:
    • Large 5” IPS split screen. 720p Resolution
    • Sleek, bright and clear display
    • Digital zoom
    Cons:
    • Flimsy built in kick stand
    • No belt clip to carry
    • Non replaceable battery
The Vava does more than monitor sound that basic baby monitors provide. The high quality cameras that can pan and tilt paired with a high quality viewing display is what every parent needs. Having experience with both closed loop and internet connected monitors, this Vava checks all the boxes and can easily replace all the monitors I currently have. My internet connected Nanit is fantastic but the monthly fees and the lack of a dedicated display is a bummer. I can’t easily bring the Nanit while we travel and its essentially stuck at home. The benefit of internet connected monitors is that I can get push notifications onto my phone when the camera detects sounds and/or motion. Closed loop systems like this Vava is easy to setup as the internet is not needed for it to work. The Vava can be working within minutes of unboxing. My display came partially charged and everything worked straight out of the box.
In the photos, I’m comparing the new Vava to the “Infant Optics” model DXR-8. The DXR-8 is a very popular monitor and was once considered the benchmark of video monitors. The Vava simply blows the DXR-8 out of the water. The quality of the video is more than outstanding on the Vava. The Vava is also an IPS display so the viewing angles are fantastic where I can place the monitor on my nightstand and see it clearly from my pillow. The Vava also does split screen where the DXR-8 needs menu button selections before viewing multiple cameras. This comes in handy when you want to monitor simultaneous rooms.
In summary, I love the gigantic screen size, physical digital zoom buttons on the display, high resolution video, split screen, are the numerous reasons why the Vava is better than most other monitors on the market. Rest easy and get the Vava.
