I would consider myself a pretty advanced power user. This thing handles Adobe Photoshop and LightRoom like a boss! Very impressed with compile times inside Visual Studio.
It breezed through modifying .stl files for my 3d printers in Halot Box and Lychee. Slicing time was also pretty solid.
On top of everything else, it even played League of Legends at 190+ fps with the highest graphical settings.
I am very happy with my decision to upgrade to the 10 core GPU for my needs, as well as the 512gb SSD. The upgraded SSD serves as a great platform for housing swap memory to aide the smaller amount of RAM.
The portability of this machine is the most impressive part. With the lid closed it’s about as thick as my iPad Air.
For the size, and fan-less design, this thing is an absolute powerhouse with a battery that is the GOLD STANDARD!
I reach for this device more than my 16″ M1 Pro with 32gb of memory.

I bought this laptop as I was returning to school for a degree in data science and needed a laptop with good graphics and a fast processor to handle the programming and data engineering classes. So far, this has met and exceeded my expectations for my needs.

I’ve gone from a Macbook Pro AND an iPad to now only this Macbook Air. This is thinner and lighter than the Pro. I do lots of spreadsheets which for my purposes was incompatible with an iPad. I’ve got the best of both worlds. It is light and “light”ning fast. I now use this for all my computing needs. Best Buy got it to me when promised. Kudos to Best Buy.

I upgraded from a 2015 MacBook Pro. It’s fast, crisp resolution and able to do what I need it to. The color shows fingerprints but it’s not an issue personally. It’s a Mac, there’s not much more to say.

I have an M1 Air for work and needed a personal laptop. I originally purchased the 256gb M1 Air but realized I preferred to have 512gb of storage (which they no longer sell in the M1 Model) so I ended up going for the M2 and I’m glad I did.
    Pros:
I really like the new flatter shape as it is less sharp in my hands (I have accidentally skinned my knuckle on the edge of an M1 Air).
I also really appreciate the extra screen real estate. It doesn’t seem like much, but the screen feels much more spacious than the M1 Air in a (slightly) lighter package.
    Cons:
Compactness: Compared to the M2, the M1 air actually feels more compact (which it is) and more “dense” which isn’t necessarily a con and also more of a personal prefrence than a con.
Trackpad: Another minor niggle but the trackpad click on the M1 air feels more solid compared to the M2 which sounds more hollow. Definitely a personal preference but something I noticed in comparison. It’s probably due to there being a hollow space under the trackpad in the M2 versus the M1 which I believe has a battery cell underneath it.
    Conclusion:
If you are only looking at the base model 256gb model I would honestly recommend picking up the 256gb M1 Air (especially if it’s on sale) as the memory is faster and you really don’t give up much in the way of performance between the M1 and M2 Chip. However, if you have a large Apple Photos collection I’d recommend upgrading to the 512gb M2 Air. It’s an awesome computer and you won’t regret it!
