I love this laptop. I ordered it as soon as it was available and have used it daily for nearly two weeks now. It’s fast, sleek, and very light weight. I appreciate that the screen is 14″ instead of the 13.3″ in competitors like Dell XPS 13 and HP Spectre 13, which gives extra space to open two windows at once. There are a lot of small luxury features that add up – a lid that can be lifted with one finger while the base of the laptop is stable, a long battery life (when battery saver is enabled), a physical webcam shutter, a rechargeable stylus that is housed within the laptop body, a sturdy hinge so the laptop screen doesn’t flop around, and a very fast fingerprint scanner that works pretty well even if your finger is slightly damp. I love using the tablet mode with the various free tablet apps available in the Microsoft store for scribbling on PDFs and sketching. The speaker on this laptop is also phenomenal. I also love the various touchpad shortcuts for daily use, such as controlling music/sound by tapping with 4 fingers or scrolling up/down with four fingers and scrolling between apps with 3 fingers side to side.. although this might just be inherent to Windows.
There are only a few things that I don’t like about this laptop that are negligible when considering the overall product-
-My laptop heats up excessively when it’s charging… it gets as hot as a hot cup of tea. Therefore I avoid leaving it charging and only plug it it when necessary. If I use battery saver mode, I can listen to music all day and edit PDF files all day with no charge. The other day, I did just that for 4 hours straight and only used up 50% of the battery.
-The battery doesn’t last 8 hours with more active use, such as with Zoom meetings. However, I probably didn’t use battery saver mode when I last was in a meeting so have not taken a controlled measure in this mode. I suggest just keeping the laptop in battery saver mode all the time. It’s still very fast. For the record – I have the FHD screen as I read that UHD would have a shorter battery life.
-The stylus battery doesn’t last super long.. maybe 30 minutes? On the plus side, it seems to charge very quickly. I wish there was some indicator on the task bar that showed the current battery life for the stylus. Still, it’s housed in the laptop body which is unique compared to HP Spectre and Dell XPS 13, which was a major reason I picked this laptop.
As I said above, these are all negligible things. I’m glad that I picked this laptop. I had previously considered this laptop, the HP Spectre 13, Dell XPS 13, and Razer Book 13/Razer Blade Stealth 13. The Yoga 9i beat out all of them… and I’ve already recommended it to my friend after two weeks.

Purchased this for my daughter for college….one day past the return period she noticed a light colored spot on the left side of the screen…hardly visable and almost impossible to see with an image over the area. In looking at prior pictures from when it was bought and picked up you can see the same spot on the pictures so she missed it so it has been there the entire time. Not sure what it is but am very disappointed I paid appropriately $1200 for it and an unsure what to do.

Very good overall design. Was so excited to find exactly what I was looking for. Crisp, clear audio and visual, lightweight, easy touchscreen, sturdy. However, I got the first one on Wednesday and by Friday, after very minimal use, it did the ghost screen and then started to flicker. Tried resetting and ended up exchanging on Saturday. Yesterday, Sunday, the same thing happened with the new one! I was so disappointed! We looked it up and apparently there is a wire issue from the mother board to the keyboard. Not dealing with that. Going with something else.

I really tried to love this laptop, which would’ve been easy since its amazingly thin and beautiful. unfortunately great features like the smooth glass trackpad, blazing fast performance and fantastic Dolby Atmos sound bar (which sounds amazing) are completely let down by one of the biggest manufacturing defects I’ve ever experienced in my life. Unfortunately Lenovo seems to have slapped this laptop together with no quality control whatsoever. I went through three laptops in one week, yeah three!! each laptop had multiple horizontal black flickering lines on the top part of the screen (where the title bar is in google chrome and other apps) each laptop had these lines at differing severities and I don’t know but for the price of 1,399 it is absolutely unacceptable for a brand new laptop to have black flickering lines on the screen. I tried installing the most updated drivers and rolling back to an older driver and the problem persisted. The reason why I tried three times was because this laptop would’ve been perfect for me if it wasn’t for this problem. the third and final laptop had the lines and a very rattily and buzzy bottom left speaker and that sealed this laptops fate for me, as I sped to best buy to return if for the last time. Its extremely upsetting that this beautiful laptop was let down by poor quality control as its truly the nicest windows laptop I’ve ever used. the batch code on my boxes were all 2021/01/04 (even tried a different best buy but they had the same batch) So if you do decide to buy this laptop which I DON’T recommend avoid this batch at all costs, save your self the nightmare I went through.

This is my first week of using this laptop. I will update if anything changes. I came from a 2014 Yoga, which was a beast of a computer. I hope that this new one gives me the same life that my old one did.
I primarily use my laptop for work and average about 65 hours of laptop related work a week. Speed, storage, and reliability are key features for me in purchasing a laptop.
So far, I love this laptop. Aesthetically, it is a very sharp and clean design. It is really pretty to use. The screen is very crisp. Every time I open up the laptop, I can’t help but admire how crisp the screen is compared to my old laptop. It is extremely light, even for being 14 inches, so it is very portable. I am not sure if the screen is listed as “smudge resistant,” but I have noticed that it is not all finger print-y like my old Yoga was. It stays remarkably clean for how much I touch it.
The keyboard is great and easy to type very quickly on. (I have been with Lenovo for about 6 years now, so I cannot speak for users who are just starting out with the Lenovo keyboard). The back lighting is a little wonky, as the spaces between the keys and the computer leave just a little to much space. However, this does not affect the functionality.
The track pad is worth writing home about and has come a long way since the 2014 Yoga. It is very responsive and has some cool features that allow the user to access tool quickly. It is very comparable to the Mac’s trackpad, which I have always been a big fan of.
The fingerprint scanner works instantaneously. The webcam manual cover is a great feature. The webcam is pretty decent and has a wide angle. I notice I am one of the clearest videos when I am on my Zoom calls. Additionally, the pen is a really cool bonus. It works wonderfully with the screen and has similar functionality to writing on paper.
On top of some cool features, this laptop is lightening fast. It restarts in 15 seconds flat and immediately responds to prompts. I initially downloaded Microsoft office, WhatsApp, Kindle, my company’s VPN access, Zoom, Adobe, and a few other small apps simultaneously, the laptop was done and ready to go within 20 minutes. I noticed no slow down while the downloads were occurring. One of the main reasons I replaced my old Yoga was because it slowed down a little too much, so I am just amazed at how fast this one is.
The speaker is decent and can get pretty loud, but it has nothing on something like a JBL Flip 4. But, I really like that the speaker can move to face whatever direction the user is using the computer. No more annoying speaker vibrations coming from the bottom of the laptop.
The laptop is very quiet when in use. No fans, buzzing, or other noises that I had to deal with on my 2014 Yoga. The charging cable is a USB-C, which is a HUGE HUGE HUGE upgrade from the monstrosity that was designed for the 2014 Yoga.

I was so excited to buy this computer. I’d been in the market for phones. Did tons of research, asked different associates for their opinions based on what I needed the computer for. After months I decided to splurge and just DO IT! And here I am a week later writing this review warning you not to purchase this device. It ran smoothly for about 3-4 days, started getting hot (I figured it was normal) but then it started glitching! Anytime I try to use full screen the top of the screen glitches and cuts off. I tried on different websites (giving Lenovo the benefit of the doubt) but nothing works. I am deeply saddened to have to return this beautiful looking laptop. I needed something that was able to run different programs and apps smoothly. I was upgrading from a MacBook Air 2020 version to what i thought was an up to date, best of the best laptops and boy was i let down. The audio is amazing in laptop mode BUT once you switch to tablet mode the sound quality is horrendous. Literally can not hear anything when I’m tablet mode. Definitely not worth the hype nor the price! I was looking forward to a windows laptop but I am sticking with Apple.
Sorry for the glare in the pictures but you can see the difference in the images that are in yellow and orange.
