I had a Fitbit one of the better ones supposedly. Also bought one of the better Garmin something 3:45. This little gadget got open box and perfect condition for 100 bucks 10 times better than either one as far as accuracy ease of use and features they might as well just throw those other ones out the door. I know they’re supposed to be a big price and feature difference between fitness straps and smart watches but a good on sale smartwatch is definitely the way to go I don’t need that many features and the ones that I would like they make no guarantee of their accuracy like blood pressure and I’m not paying 400 bucks for something that I use messing around on the bicycle or doing work in the yard good overall watch good price

The need to recharge daily is a negative though it still tracks despite being on low power mode. I love that you can change the size of the time Display font (I can’t see regular typical font w/o glasses). The 40mm size display isn’t too large for women, even on my skinny arm, but I am more comfortable with the rose display and band. Very feminine looking.
Negative is that neither the website or watch displays more than the current week details whereas the FitBit or VeryFitPro (Spade watch) websites are more easily followed, but then the watch itself is better than either of the others.

I wish this model came with the high blood pressure monitor, but the upgrade price for it wasn’t justified. This original version does all but that. I purchased this model during a sale promotion. A bit sensitive to touch. Smartwatch tracks all my fitness, you can customize face, widgets easily. Must download Samsung health and Wear for optimal information. Was able to link my scale to their app and track my weight goals. The watch looks great, face size is perfect on my wrist, doesn’t look bulky. Battery life isn’t great, if you want to track your sleep you will need to find downtime to charge up. Bixby is great on this watch as well. Lots of options on this product.

    Samsung Galaxy Active Smartwatch

    *****Review*****

I had the pleasure of purchasing the Samsung Galaxy Smartwatch a while back. In my honest opinion although a really nice watch, it didn’t work out for me unfortunately; for personal reasons and opinions…
But guess what? Here comes a smartwatch from Samsung that I must say is attractive, has new features, and is definitely affordable for us “active” folks out there.
Samsung right off the bat offers the wearer the ability to have a good amount of customization and personalization. You can virtually strap on any 20mm watch band and Samsung is releasing 4 finishes of the Galaxy Active Smartwatch; which comes in either silver, black, blueish/green, and rose gold/pink.
When it comes to the design and finish of the Galaxy Active Smartwatch, I am honestly impressed. The watch itself feels well built and durable yet elegant and beautiful with its brushed aluminum finish. With its design, it is super light weight and never gets in my way during my workout activities. The glass itself is made of Gorilla Glass 3 to help with impacts and scratches while displaying its AMOLED screen. All in all, I am pleased with the design that Samsung went with for the Galaxy Active Smartwatch; it’s truly modern, minimalistic and comfortable. Although some may not agree, I enjoy using the Galaxy Active Smartwatch without a rotating bezel. Sure it’d be nice to have the rotating bezel, but it’s not a deal breaker in my opinion. My only gripe/complaint is that the screen itself has quite a large bezel. With technology and the trend nowadays, the bezel should be extremely minimal to practically invisible. Samsung chose to insert a 230mAh battery for the Galaxy Active Smartwatch. It has been stated by Samsung that you’ll get approximately 45 hours of use, I’ve personally tested this statement and I must say that I am actually quite impressed. I would say the “use” is subjective, so it ultimately depends on that. I still got a solid 1 ½ ~ 2 days of usage before I had to charge. Excellent work on the battery estimation Samsung!
During my day to day use, I really enjoyed the comfortability of the Samsung Galaxy Active Smartwatch. The internal specs of the watch also made it seamless as there was virtually no issues of lag experienced. I personally never really used the included onboard GPS route tracking since I workout in the gym near my house. But I can definitely state that if/when my wife decides to go hiking, I will for sure put the GPS to good use. I also LOVE the fact that I can go swimming with this watch up to 5ATM which is 50 meters which is approximately 164 feet. Besides that, I also utilized the heart rate monitor, sleep tracker and general fitness. Heart rate monitor, sleep monitor, and general fitness tracking is pretty generic as it’s available on any smartwatch. I’ve been trying to see if I could utilize the blood pressure monitoring option but I can’t seem to find it. From what I can tell, the blood pressure monitoring option isn’t released yet or perhaps in beta. I’m definitely looking forward to having the option monitor my blood pressure. Just keep in mind everyone, take the blood pressure monitoring with a grain of salt. Always go see your doctor if you think something is going on.
Overall, I have to say that I am quite pleased with the Samsung Galaxy Active Smartwatch. Everything from the design, to the usage, downright to the practicality; I can personally say that it’s worth it. It definitely won’t create a huge dent in your bank account and it has all the functions you need on a day to day basis. My gripe as some others may have is with the large black bezel. If you’re an individual that likes to wear a light and extremely comfortable smartwatch without putting a dent into your wallet/bank account with the purchase; I highly recommend the Samsung Galaxy Active Smartwatch.

I love it, its def what I want. It’s not too big like the other Samsung watch, I love the rose gold color, texting is cool, steps, and notifications. But….. like everyone is saying the battery doesnt last for few days. Mine is about 2 days then I have to charge it. I guess it depends how much you use it. The charging port doesnt hold it well, so make sure you are charging it flat. I’ve slept on it and I love how it tells me my sleeping pattern and when i go to bed, but like I said every other night, you need to charge it. Sometimes it’s slow when you are trying to do the talk to text and be very clear and sometimes loud. Over all, I really like it. It’s good for people with smaller wrist and I’ve got compliments and looked at.

I have used Activity Trackers for several years now and they have become a habit to always have on and feel weird when I don’t have it. I was excited to upgrade to this Galaxy Watch Active as it was more fitness oriented – so far I have been very impressed! FYI – my experience with this Watch has been pairing it with a Galaxy S10+ phone and JBL Free True Wireless earbuds.

    PROS:
    – When you take the Watch out of the box the first thing you notice is how small and light it is. It has a smaller watch face compared to other round watches which seems weird but you end up loving it because it is not too bulky.
    – The Screen is beautiful! It really pops when it is on and is easy to see how everything looks on it. Plus with the round shape Samsung was able to do some cool design changes with it.
    – Some of you will wonder – how is it without the rotating bezel that’s been common with Samsung Smart Watches? I personally am a huge fan. The touch screen and two button operations is more than enough to make this Watch function well. Plus without the bezel, the size is minimized and sleeks – overall it’s a very easy to use touch system!
    – A huge reason I love Samsung Activity Trackers is they are the only ones that currently allow Spotify streaming on Wifi and most importantly OFFLINE! This is such a huge deal that I can download my playlists or stream new songs on this Watch, while connected to bluetooth headphones, and not have to bring my phone with my while working out with this on. I really love that feature!
    – The overall activity tracking has been great and I have not gotten any hiccups! Tracks my steps, calories accurately and reminds me when to get up. The “workout” mode is nice to select what you are doing but it will autodetect and start tracking your workout if you forgot to hit “start”.
    – This is new to me, but I like how Samsung has incorporated the “Heart” goal every day. Basically it has three aspects: Active calories burnt, workout times, and move hourly. If you hit all three goals you complete your heart – nice! It’s a good extra goal to make as opposed to just steps or floors.
    – Sleep tracking is a great feature to have as well. It really is nice to have so every week you can see if you need to get to sleep more or less.
    – Finally, the Galaxy Watch Active is fully waterproof so you can swim laps at the pool, scuba dive in the ocean, or swim in the lake with it on. Huge perk to never have to worry about taking it off and have great tracking.

    CONS:
    – The main con that everyone will say is the bezel. The watch face looks really nice but the bezel is really thick around the screen. I think if they made an infinity screen type watch face on this, this smart watch would do so much better in sales just from a look perspective.
    – Samsung almost nailed this but they missed one thing. It’s always bugged me on their past devices that you could not easily toggle on and off the main battery drainers: Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, and NFC. On the Watch Active you can toggle ALL of those from the drop down quick menu besides Bluetooth – you can turn on Bluetooth but not off. In order to turn Bluetooth off you have to dive deeper into the settings. It would seem like a really simple feature to have but for whatever reason, Samsung wants to make it hard to turn off Bluetooth.
    – The Galaxy Wearable App and Samsung Health App’s are nice to use on your phone but still are not fully formed in my opinion. It’s still not as simple to change all the settings of your Watch from your Phone as I want it to be. They are still nice Apps to have but I wish they were a little better.
    – Battery life is about two days which is fine but the device takes a while to charge up with the included charger. I would recommend charging it at work or a time you are sitting down for a few hours because if you wait until you are home or in bed at night, just know you won’t be able to wear it for a few hours if you want a full charge.

    BOTTOM LINE:
    – If you are looking for a Smart Watch that is dedicated mainly to activity tracking and you will barely notice it’s even there – this is what you want. It offers great fitness tracking, with offline Spotify, and is very simple to use. I think Samsung really set the bar here for Android Smart Watches and these could become the new norm!

I stopped wearing watches years ago because I work in manufacturing and we are not allowed to wear them. So when I purchased this on a whim, I thought I wouldn’t like it but I was so wrong. I love it. I don’t feel like I have to always be tied to my phone because I get all the notifications I need on my watch. I can even respond to text messages which is great. I don’t think there are any downsides to it.

I am very happy with this watch. It is low profile, so it doesn’t get caught on my clothing. I can access calculator, messages, emails, activity info, weather, calendar, voice memo, contacts with ease. I like the options for responding to messages…type, write, emoji, pre-written replies.
Cons: battery needs charged daily (so do Apple products) and bluetooth does not seem to transmit very far. Works fine throughout my 3 story home, but once I go outside without my phone, it disconnects
