I am typically a otterbox defender case user. I had my note4 in this case for like 5 years. My note 4 was just replaced a few months ago (after getting what seems to be water damage, when I was forced to switch to the Otterbox Commuter series because my phone was so old I couldn’t find any more defender cases.)
I decided to go with the Tech21 case because the one thing I liked about the defender series was that it came with a built in screen protector and the newer defender series does not. I also was tired of the bulkiness the case gave to the phone so I figured with the screen protector being removed this was a good opportunity to try a new case and my daughter owns this same case.
Her case and phone was purchased in the store. The case’s material makes it easy to hold on to and it is light weight but seems durable. The buttons are responsive to the normal pressure and the look of the case is nice.
However, I purchased the same case for the same phone model on amazon and right away we started noticing differences in the cases.
1. My case seemed slightly smaller and noticeably lighter than her case.
2. My case didn’t fit as tightly around the phone
3. The Tech21 Logo was a little different on my case as compared to hers.
4. My buttons were not as responsive to normal pressure, so it was difficult to use.
The biggest difference? My case started to buckling within 3 days of use. I am returning the case I ordered on amazon and will try to purchase one in the store or find a different seller.

I always use tech 21 cases because they are such a good product. I am very clumsy and drop my phone a lot I used to break every phone I had but the tech 21 case has stoped this. The cases are lightweight but very sturdy and shock absorbing. My phone has lasted me 3 years thanks to the tech 21 case.

I suspect it may be a knock off – It is an EVO CHECK for the iPhone XR. The fit seems slightly off, three corners looks stressed immediately once I put the phone in the case, and the packaging has some inconsistencies.

It’s definitely not the cheapest phone case, but I have had a tech21 case for every one of my iPhones (on my 5th one now) and in all that time, I have never damaged one of my phones. I think these cases offer the best protection you can get.

Tech21 cases are just the best. Easy to put on, fit nice and snug and feel lovely to hold. Would recommend for sure. Sold by apple too so that’s an excellent recommendation as well.

fitted perfectly, dropped phone as i always do, as its anormal hazard in my work,and the bumper does its job. would never be without it. 3rd one ive bought as had iphone 6 and 7 before, and all have saved me a broken phone on more than 1 occassion.

The first time I drop my IPhone XR on the floor from approx 3ft I find that the screen is cracked. The mobile landed on the slide button side and then on its back. At first sight (see photo) I thought it was the protective screen that was broke but on closer I inspection I realised that the screen was cracked. Gutted. Therefore in my opinion this case is not fit for purpose and a waste of money. Plus I now have the trouble of trying to replace my screen. 😤😤

I love this case. My phone is black and this case (the lilac) looks lovely on it. I use my phone for photography and this is a great case as it doesn’t slip but isn’t sticky. Great protection too!

The power button on the side was extremely hard to press as well as the volume buttons. So I went to Best Buy and tried one of their cases on my phone. The same tech 21 case seemed to fit better and the buttons pressed very easily. The one I ordered off of Amazon must’ve been a knock off case. This is what they told me at the store. They knew immediately the one I had was a knock off.
I was very sorry to hear this as the price was right.

I love Tech21 cases they fit great, look great. And overall do their job in protecting your phone! I had bought other brands that were cheaper but really interrupted the quality in my phone. People couldn’t hear me because the case would cover the speaker part of it so I had enough of having to put people on speaker for them to hear me better. With this case You can whisper and people can hear you clearly! I know these cases are durable becausey old tech 21 case lasted 3 years!! It lasted so many falls and my phone stayed in tact!

I can tell my phones not going to shatter into a million pieces just by holding it. However, it’s a bit chunky and too dark to see the new color of my yellow XR! I do wish they made these in clear glitter (love the Spec designs, but only trust tech21!)
My boss threw his iPhone 8 at the concrete floor and not a single thing happened. The phone actually bounced. If they made anything more durable, your phone would probably be bulletproof. Trust these guys

I purchased this case after reading it was one of the best rated for protection. I find it very securely grips the phone with plenty of shock absorbing padding but isn’t so bulky it makes the phone difficult to pocket. It’s also just grippy enough to hold onto securely without making it hard to get in or out of the pocket.

I love tech 21 cases and have them before on my other iPhone BUT this one has a big problem! Instead of just having a cut out opening for the buttons, this model has plastic coverings for the volume and on/off buttons on the sides that are made of stiff plastic that is very difficult to push to operate the buttons. I’m not being picky, it was literally a real pain in the butt to push and you had to use considerable effort. I gave it to my wife and daughter to test just to make sure I wasn’t crazy and they Insisted I return it immediately. This was unfortunate as I have loved my previous tech 21 cases as they offer fairly good protection for a case that is slim and unobtrusive and also is easy to grip. I had one on my iPhone 6 which got dropped at least a few dozen times over the years and sustained no damage.
