These skewers are fantastic! I was skeptical if the stainless steel would be thin and/or flimsy and if the tips would poke huge holes in the food. I love having the flat sides because my food cooks evenly and closes tightly inside my bbq with the ring tip handles sticking out. The tips are sharp so be careful! But they are just the amount of sharpness you need to skewer meats and veggies. The food stays nice and tight and doesn’t swirl around, thus creating an even sear on all sides. I’m very happy with this purchase and recommend it highly.

Based on the reviews I read before purchasing, it seems that these were made in Italy at some point, but the ones I received clearly stated that they were made in China on the packaging. They was noting stamped on the skewers to suggest otherwise either.
They seem to be coated and to not be stainless steel, but I am not entirely sure about that.

Was looking for metal skewers, but was worried about the quality of the stainless steel coming out of China. Especially since they pierce your food. Bought these because I had at least heard of Norpro before, not like a lot of the made up names coming out of China factories. Pleasantly surprised to see these were made in Italy. Good length, and no issues putting a lot of meat and veggies on them.

Bought these for my parents because they like to make vegetables on the grill. After using them for a while, they are very easy to use, however the first time they opened the new package and started to wash them off, weird silver colored marks were left on the washcloth and no matter how many times the skewers were scrubbed they kept giving that off. My dad ended up cooking just the plain skewers on the grill to burn that stuff off, and it worked. After one more scrub down, the silver (now burnt brown) stuff came off and they were clean and ready to use. Don’t know what that stuff was, but it was odd. They have worked very well ever since then. No problems.

I have many other cooking implements made by NorPro and have always been impressed with their quality and attention to design detail. So, I decided to order the NorPro skewers, a decision I do not regret. I may buy more of these. I like that the skewers are flat and the food does not move on the skewer when it is rotated. All edges of the blade are chamfered so that the blade cannot cut you when handling. Very well built from heavy stainless these should last more than one lifetime if cared for.

These are nice and strong, much sturdier than I expected. Only complaint is the tips. While they’re pointed, they should also be slightly bladed to make it easier to “slice” through the food as you push it on. Doesn’t need to be sharp, but should definitely be filed down a bit. It’s fine for meat, but sticking harder foods on, like squash and zucchini, requires a little bit of force, which could be dangerous if your hand slips.

Liked the idea and ordered 4 packs. Not as wide as I had thought, but they did work last night and the onions and peppers stayed on and didn’t spin when turned. I only turned them once and used tongs to do it at the circular end. Guessing I should get a BBQ mitt. I thought they were rusting when I opened the dishwasher this morning, but it was just the tips that had been exposed to fire with the veggie juice on them. Because of the flat sides, I did have to push harder when loading veggies than with round skewers. Am guessing it is just a matter of time until I puncture my hand so will work on my technique. No fault of skewers.
