Elk Lighting 3-Light Semi Flush, Deep Rust

My second fixture from this product line by Elk; the larger 6 bulb fixture had a number of the glass florets broken, it took two shipments by Amazon to piece together enough unbroken parts to make one workable fixture. I had a small hope this smaller one might be more likely to make it in once piece, but in fact the packing is actually worse for the smaller fixture — the glass parts had no padding of any kind in the box, they were freely banging around in the box against each other. No kidding, the only “packing” if you can call it that is the thin wrapper you see in the photo in a box large enough that they bounced around. Surely Elk could afford 10 cents worth of bubble wrap! Elk is completely unwilling to replace just the broken parts which would be simple, and forced me to do the multiple orders of these rather large boxes through Amazon despite the fact that it was Elk’s own packing causing the problem. Four out of six glass parts are broken in this box; meaning it may well take at least 3 shipments (or more!) before I can piece together an unbroken fixture. Elk could solve this with a single small shipment of replacements, but instead choose to make Amazon pay the price of their inability to pack glass parts for commercial shipping. I’m sad and frustrated as with the last one, but it’s my only option to have matching fixtures having gone through the hassle of getting the first one working. My advice: as pretty as these fixtures are, you’re better off looking at something else. It’s just not worth the hassle of so many shipments and picking through the boxes to find the unbroken pieces. I’m committed at this point but I am one fixture into this line already, if you don’t have any yet then think carefully about starting with this product line, especially if you need more than one fixture, unless you have time on your hands to do multiple shipments until you get enough parts to get a working unit. Elk, the manufacturer, just doesn’t care and doesn’t even try to hide it.

UPDATE: The replacement shipment had every single glass floret broken. No hope of ever piecing together a functional unbroken fixture from multiple shipments. 10 out of 12 broken parts in two different shipments. Bummer! Time for a different product line, I give up.

Amazing! I absolutely love this fixture. The photos do not do it justice.

This fixture is a work of art and I love it, but the light is a little weird. The bulbs are at the top, so they shine through the design of the fixture and cast lots of shadows. Also, the bulbs are not covered at all, so between the shadow parts is glaring light. Again, I’m happy with it, but it is better appreciated as artistic than functional.

Was very pretty and quick shipping – BUT like the last reviewer, I also had glass flowers broken, (2) arrived broken, had to spend the night piecing them back together with glue, not happy about that !
