OASIS #80027 Thirst Quencher Heavy Duty Waterer for Dogs

I bought two of these. The water comes out slowly, so I did remove the restrictor plate and drill a slightly larger hole.

I put it back together and it flows faster. My shepherd absolutely loves the fresh water when she’s either in the front yard or the back yard.

Putting directly on the spigot allows water to remain cold, instead of becoming scalding hot from sitting in a hose. With other products, the dogs get a blast of scalding water from the exposed hose, directly in their face.

I have a large mix breed dog with lots of energy and a medium fenced in yard. He does lots of running around and consumes a lot of water. I also live in Florida where it is hot. Leaving large bowls/buckets of standing water is pointless as it gets dirty/sandy and if nothing else starts growing mildew easily and also a breeding ground for mosquitos. When my dog learned water comes out of the spigot in the back yard he would run over to it and paw or lick it until you can and turned it on for him. This was nice and eliminated the need for a standing water bowl, but became annoying quickly having to get up and turn on the faucet for him. When I found this product I was delighted he learned to use it right away and he loves it too. It works as advertised although I do notice if you don’t screw it on the spigot properly it will leak (if too tight or loose). I have had it for a while and it is not showing any signs of rust or wear. Definitely happy with this purchase.

Totalmente recomendado. Tengo una french poodle y un pitbull. Tenia el problema que les servia un balde con agua para ambas y siempre lo volteaban y tumbaban el agua haciendo un mugrero y ensuciandose todas. Con esta herramienta, que por cierto es de excelente calidad, todo es mucho mas sencillo. Simplemente compre una llave de doble boquilla (una boquilla para manguera o uso cotidiano y otra boquilla para el dispensador de agua) le pones cinta de teflon y listo! Dejo la llave abierta y no derrama ni una gota de agua. No batalle nada en enseñarle a mis perros que esa sera su nueva fuente de agua, solo esperas a que tengan mucha sed y vas y les muestras y nunca les olvidara. En fin, lo recomiendo 100%.

I ordered this for my GSDs and was so excited for them to have access to fresh water outside any time without the bowl spilling or bugs getting into the water. I had to return it because my house has an anti siphon valve but when I went to the hardware store they said I can just attach a splitter and put it on one end so I ordered it again and it works great. I suggest just buying the two spout attachment when you buy this to avoid it not fitting and to give you access to the free spout if you need it for a hose or what not.

My dogs go through a lot of water. Sometimes it gets windy at my house and I wanted something that would give my dogs fresh, cool water and not run out. Hooked it up to the splitter at the spigot and left it slightly loose so it would drip. The first day, I rubbed coconut oil (my dogs’ favorite) all over it so they would lick it off and learn that licking activated the water. The second day I just let it drip, by that night I saw them drinking from it so I tightened it on to stop the drip. That is all it took! Now my dogs have clean, fresh water whenever they are thirsty. Note: I would pick an area that is not in direct sun to keep it cool.

I bought one of these eight or ten years ago at a feed store and it finally got crusty enough that it was time to replace it. Checked amazon and sure enough…

We have 4 dogs and all will use this and two if them prefer it over a bowl of water.

This is well built and stands the test of time. The valve is simple and effective. About once a summer I need to clean off the sealing area because my old pipes lose crumbs sometimes, I don’t think that would be a problem with newer plumbing.

Shipping was on time and delivery was as expected.

I recommend these to everyone that has dogs.
