Super easy to install on Lenovo and dell laptops. The privacy aspect works as well as any other I have seen (and there are hundreds in my company. As with all privacy screens they work best in bright daylight or bright office environment and a much less affective in dim light or evening. It reduces the Claire as well but as with all privacy screens it also reduces the brightness and I find I just have to put the brightness on max to compensate – which means you burn through the battery quicker but it’s a small price to pay.

This is probably OK if you need to stop people from seeing your laptop screen when sat next to you but for anti-glare – which I take as being able to see your screen in bright conditions – it’s pretty useful. Just makes your screen darker so harder to see. Plus you can see you reflection more. Same as saying we can make your room less bright by switching off the lights – just means you can’t see as well. Oh well. Back to putting laptop inside a cardboard box again.

Other than a knock-off I found on eBay that was nearly perfect, I’ve never found a brand of privacy screen that has all the features I like.

    The IDEAL privacy screen:
    1) No visual pattens when looking straight on
    2) Full blocking of screen at side angles, even on high brightness
    3) Covers entire screen (No notches)
    4) No stamping or printing that obscurs part of the screen
    5) Reasonable price

THIS privacy screen hits the mark on 4 and 5. There are diagonal lines that are visible (albeit faintly) when looking at the screen. They become more obvious when the screen is brighter. However, at high brightness, the view of the screen starts to become visible at side angles. Plus, the notch on the top bugs me, although I can imagine it would be convenient for someone who takes the screen off a lot.

Apparently, that’s about the best you can get. For comparison, I have a 3M brand privacy screen at work and it succeeds in 1 and 2, and fails on the rest.

In summary, I reluctantly recommend this privacy screen because there is no better option, but see definite room for improvement that manufacturers could take advantage of.

I purchased this item because I was looking for something that would help with the glare and give me some privacy.

I sit in an angle in an office, but when someone passed the door into my office, they could see everything in my screen. Since I work with confidential data, I was always concerned if my data would be shared with someone that I didn’t intend to share.

This filter is wonderful! Nobody can see that I have a filter because you don’t have to mount anything but just peel off the film that comes to protect the filter and place into the screen.

Unless somebody comes behind my chair, nothing can be looked. It is just perfect. I’m not sure about the glare. I’m still trying to figure it out if it helps with the glare or not.

I tried the filter in an open space. If you sit in a location where people can walk directly behind you. Even if you are far away, everybody can see your screen like you don’t have a filter. It only works from side angles. So if you sit at the end of a hall, with your computer facing straight to the hall, nothing happens.

Also, the computer screen gets darker, so it takes time to adjust to your eyes.

Overall, this is a wonderful purchase!

I like that I can now use my laptop in bright light and see what is on the screen. It does provide a good privacy filter as when the laptop is on the desk next to me I forget it is switched on as the screen is so black!
I used the sticky strips, tried the stick on clips but couldn’t get the position right and the filter didn’t want to slip onto the screen behind them.
I am not sure which side is best as I have only used the matte one – there is supposed to be a difference but I couldn’t see any. The screen may be a bit darker but for internet use thats not an issue. I like it and will be buying a larger version for my main PC next.

I do have to say that I find these privacy filters ridiculously expensive; however, I’m very pleased with it. I had previously purchased one (more than a year ago) for about $20, so I was surprised to find that they are so expensive now. However, I’m completely happy with it. My previous one was quite generic, so it never actually “fit” my screen and it got pretty beat up. This one fits my screen perfectly (I followed the measuring tips to make sure I got the right one), it stays in place so I’m sure it will last longer, and it provides excellent privacy.

This hardly blocks out much of your screen from an angle. I’ve had a few different privacy filters for other laptops and this one’s rubbish. Wouldn’t be safe to use laptop on a train. Or anywhere your privacy matters. Have binned it off and got a different one. Waste of money.

A good privacy screen and flawless. There is nothing to complain about at all. Mounting is easy and within five minutes, you can slide the screen in and out of the computer screen (if you want). I am leaving mine snug and settled inside the laptop as the fitting is perfect. Looking sideways, your information on the screen is darkened, but sitting in front of the computer, you see clearly; a plus is that the filter reduces the distressing glare of the screen. Thank you. I can’t help but express concern about some reviews really without trivializing others misfortune but one fact needs be clear: this filter as other filters (I learnt by research before buying) works better where there is light……having learnt that, I would not be justified to pass judgement when I use the filter with no light around and expect it to be dark. Go figure. This is one purchase made, valued and if you want to give it a try, you may concur with the facts in this review. I find nothing to complain whatsoever. Another possibility may be that there has been a remake of the product: but whatever it is , this is a helpful product.

The tabs work, although how long they’ll stay stuck on is a different matter.
The filter itself has “Fellowes” stamped on it, which gets in the way of reading through the screen.
The sticky tab attach to the screen left lots of adhesive, so leaving a nasty scratched smeared mess.
The reduced field of view just about works as intended.
It’s not worth the (reduced) price, let alone the original price.
    I wouldn’t buy this again.

The Fellowes privacy filter is perfect for my home computer. I purchased one after buying a similar product for my office computer. The long days at the screen were bothering my eyes. I have found the filter to be a great relief. I don’t normally travel with my laptop, but for those who do, the privacy aspect is important and works well at keeping wandering eyes off your screen. It is easy to use. The little tabs stick unobtrusively onto the sides of the screen and the filter slides in or out, as you wish. When the laptop is closed, there is no bulky interference from the filter. One note: when ordering, be sure to use the diagonal measurement of your screen’s innner corners to get the correct size.

I have the Fellows filter on one laptop and a 3M filter on my work laptop. The plastic sheet itself is nearly identical as far as the angle of clear viewing, how it goes dark from far edge to near as you move out of center, the small arched gap on the edge to lift the sheet out, and the screen size numbers printed near the edge. I believe the numbers on the Fellows product are more transparent, which is nice.

I could wish the angle of viewing were narrower, but I have not found a filter at any price that is better.

The main difference is the sticky tabs used to hold the sheet against the screen. The 3M tabs are long and do not extend far into the screen area. The Fellows tabs are narrower but extend further. The problem with the narrower tabs is that there is not enough adhesive to hold the tabs on properly. They started falling off the day I applied them.

I eventually had to super-glue the tabs (and briefly, my thumb) to the frame of the screen.

My filter fits my screen perfectly, thanks mainly to specifically checking the width and height against the flat area of my screen. You can’t just go by the diagonal measurement with these.

All told, I would buy this filter for my future laptops.
