Purchased this in January of 2018. Arrived, it took time to expand – this was expected. Very soft to the touch and comfy laying on it.
Unfortunately, as many other reviews are saying: it’s smaller than a queen. It seems to be missing around an inch on all sides.
Also, over time, the two pieces of foam start to separate. The blue and the yellow layers are all but completely disconnected on mine. I’d love to say that it’s not an issue if you never move it, but putting body weight on and off again causes the foam to move a bit. So I need to occasionally readjust the foam so it’s lined up.
I probably would neither recommend this to someone or buy it again had I the chance.

Bought it for my 10 year old niece who had been complaining that her mattress was too hard. She probably weighs 65 lbs. She said that it squishes flat after just a couple of minutes. Very disappointed. Seems like this is one of those Amazon products with a lot of false positives.

This is literally the WORST piece of foam I have ever owned and let me tell you why. I had an extremely busy night ahead of me — I had to wash the car, do the dishes and take the dog to the groomers. This came quickly in the mail (Amazon Prime’s prompt and convenient 2 day delivery) and put this topper on my queen size Zinus Extra Firm iCoil mattress. I figured I’d just test it really quick and make sure it’s comfortable. What happened next is that I immediately fell into a 4 HOUR SLEEP COMA. It was so comfortable and supportive that I was instantly swept away into a land of dreams and slumber. I was awoken by my irate wife who was loudly asking why the car wasn’t washed, the dishes weren’t done and the dog was sprinting around the back yard covered in mud and grass clippings. So THANKS A LOT ZINUS for ruining my night and potentially my marriage.

They brag about being able to compress the mattress to fit it in a good size box, but it would not lay out afterwards.
The foam stuck together to the point that it would rip by opening it, it did not “lay down” even after a week,
AND on top of that, it was too small to cover the enter mattress anyways.

I agree with the other customers who stated this seemed more like pure foam rather than gel foam so because of that I deducted 1 star as I feel it’s a tad bit pricey. I also woke up covered in sweat so make sure you don’t have the temp. Too high or too many blankets as it retains geat very well. I received this product in great condition, very fast delivery, and I had a very comfortable sleep. I definitely recommend!

This is the first and hopefully last time I give a disappointing/negative review about my amazon order.
Never have I been disappointed with amazon, always completely satisfied with my orders.
The price before Christmas was $88.00. Heard great things about mattress toppers. Cheaper than buying a new mattress.
When I received the mattress topper I opened it the same day. Unrolled it and left it out for 2 days, it did smell.
As the description said it would.
Day 3, I put it on my bed, clean sheets and comforter. The smell was still strong, didn’t smell right, thought it would go away. Then I realized why/what it smelled like, Urine.
It smelled of URINE. It was disgusting. I don’t know if it was human or animal. But, wow, it was bad.
I couldn’t be bothered to package it up and return it. I tossed it out. (That was the week garbage was picking up, and I wanted it gone)
Very, very disappointed.

Bought this quite some time ago, and it’s one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. For the past few years I’ve developed pain in both hips that seems to only be apparent at night…bad enough that it wakes me and keeps me from falling back to sleep. This was the main reason I bought this topper; well, that, and the cost of a memory foam mattress was just too pricey. I didn’t really expect it to make that much of a difference, but oh boy, it really does. While I still get some aching in my hips, it no longer wakes me at night, so I’m able to (finally) get a good night’s sleep. And after spending a couple of nights at my sister’s cottage a few weekends ago, I discovered just what a difference the topper has been making…after sleeping on one of the regular mattresses at the cottage, I was in a lot of pain in the middle of the night. As soon as I returned home to my own bed, the pain was gone.
For me, this has been worth it’s weight in gold.

Just unpacked it and there’s a huge hard melted line on the top. I’d flip it but that defeats the purpose of paying for memory foam.
Also, one corner isn’t flattening out.
We’ll see how the company deals with it. It’s a huge pain to shrink and pack this back up.
Pretty disappointing.

I’ve been researching memory foam mattresses and toppers for months now, and it seems like all the reviewers either love a product or hate it. I finally just gave up and bought this one. It came in yesterday, but I didn’t unpack it until this morning. I figured (from all I’d read) that the stink would be unbearable and at least this way, it could air out all day while I was at work.
Well, I unpacked it, and it immediately assumed the proper shape–no creases, no thin spots, no weirdness. (Granted, mine is only a twin size…it could be that larger pads would be more tightly folded.) And there was absolutely no objectionable odor of any kind!
I put in on the bed, put a fitted sheet over it, and laid down….ahhh! Can’t wait to sleep on it tonight. Yeah, so it’s a little early to give a five-star review, but I was so prepared for disappointment that I couldn’t resist. I’ll report back as time goes on…
EDIT: Okay, it’s been a month now, and I still love it. I actually sleep at night instead of spending the night tossing and turning and trying to get comfortable. I will say that it’s a tad warm to sleep on, especially now that it’s summer time. I solved that by laying on top of the comforter…may try putting a mattress pad on it for a more permanent solution.
EDIT: It’s been a year now, and I still love it. It does not sag at all, and the two layers are not separating. I don’t understand the people with those complaints. All I do is rotate it end-to-end occasionally. Very comfortable!

I ordered and received 34 mattresses and 15 mattress toppers from Zinus (through Amazon) in September 2020. I am a business owner. I own vacation rental units that I furnish. Out of the 49 Zinus items I purchased ONLY 20% were in good enough condition to be used. Of the 20% that expanded to their original size and look good they are horribly firm and uncomfortable.
PLEASE read all the fine print before purchasing the Zinus mattresses and mattress toppers! On the main purchasing page of Amazon this is the verbiage.

Which I understood it meant “once you open the mattress it takes 72 hours for it to expand to its maximum shape”. That is not the case!!
IF you happen to find the teeny tiny little link labeled “Installation Manual” really far down the page it states…
“Please remove from packaging within 72 hours of receipt to make sure your mattress can grow to its full potential.”
We had many construction delays, and the mattresses did stay boxed up for a couple of months in a storage unit while we waited for the units to be complete. If Zinus would have properly disclosed the mattress requirements better, I would have definitely figured something else out and not left them boxed up. You would think that if it is a matter of 3 days that makes a mattress usable or unusable it would be WELL published.
I have spent HOURS on the phone with Amazon who stated they could not do anything, and I needed to contact Zinus. I then have spent countless hours on the phone with Zinus which got me nowhere other than a customer service email. I sent many emails to Zinus customer service since 12/23/2020 with pictures of all mattresses and toppers.
They have emailed me back, but each response takes days. They kept escalating the claim up the management ladder. I have requested a replacement for all the defective mattresses. I initially did not want a refund I just wanted mattresses I could use. At one point they told me they would replace them. Then many days later they said they did not have enough in stock to replace them. I find this odd that they do not have at least 11 King size mattresses in stock at any given time.
When I told them, I cannot wait for months on end to receive my replacements, since they are for a business and I need to start renting it out, they told me they would send me a “prorated” refund. I am not sure why it would be prorated since I was still within the 100-night trial period. But either way I have received nothing! They told me they would send me a refund and the “refund department” would be getting a hold of me to set it up and I have heard NOTHING. I have emailed them numerous times to each person I dealt with along the way and none of them have responded to me in the last 16 days.
So as far as I am concerned Zinus has an 80% terrible product and their customer service wasted my time, and I did not receive reimbursement or replacement for my unusable products. I have purchased replacement mattresses from another company since I cannot wait any longer.
I definitely DO NOT recommend Zinus or any of their products and I will never purchase from them again. I will be getting the word out as well to the many other rental owners I network with and letting them know of my experience. The pictures I have included are the mattresses and mattress toppers that had been unboxed for 3-4 weeks. That is all they expanded.

Initially my husband was pleased, but his opinion has changed greatly. it is already sagging and worse yet, the topper is separating. We will be advising Zinus, Inc. of our displeasure.
Update on 5–8-2017: On April 24, 2017 I wrote to the warranty department at Zinus, Inc. I used the address I found on their website. Today I received my letter back with the postal service sticker Return to sender not deliverable as addressed. Needless to say we are disgusted and we hope our review will save others from wasting their money on junk!
