This is a fantastic table! This summer I did some “dispersed camping” and quickly realized I needed a table. I wanted one that folded down to a small size, but set up to be big enough to cook and eat on. I also wanted to be able to use a stove on it. The working surface of this table is aluminum, so it’ll handle the heat of the stove. It folds down to almost nothing (smaller than and about as light as most camp chairs). I like that when set up the table top is fastened to the legs so you can pick the whole thing up and move it easily. (A friend has a different table that the table-top lifts off the legs, so you can’t move it all at once. I didn’t want that.) This table is completely ideal for what I bought it for!

Fantastic piece of kit, lightweight, assembles easily in minutes and looks great. Can hold a good weight too. Expensive but worth it

The table is very light weight and is sturdy consider its size and weight. Used it at the park for a picnic and it worked well but I’m not sure if I would place anything fragile if you’re not on level ground

A little wobbly, sure, but the ALPS Mountaineering table is meant to pack down small and very light for minimalist car campers. @ about 2/3 the size of a camp chair when disassembled, this table packs down very well into its bag, and is a snap to set up. Just about the perfect size for a compact propane BBQ and a couple of condiment bottles or LED lamps, but not much else … sturdiness is a distant second concern, as weight is the main virtue.

Great camp table, very lightweight and easy to store and transport. I like that the storage pouch has separated pockets for the legs / table top as I can see how it might rattle a bit if not. Easy to set up and take down. Not huge, but big enough for a medium “catch all” table or to prepare food on; 2 people to eat at which is all we need. You can’t out your legs under the table as the legs and support are in the way but let’s face it – it’s not made for fine dining 😉 Very happy with this purchase, great value for the price and perfect fro traveling. LOVE how lightweight it is for a sturdy table!

I use this table for camping trips, cooking outdoors, when doing mechanical work, almost anywhere i need a table. It can hold a lot of weight. When camping i put a 7 gallon jerry can on one side, and two burner camp stove on the other.
Top is real aluminum, with some plastic end caps, I have placed tabletop grills and hot cookware on it without worry.
Carry bag is very nice, makes moving it from house/vehicle/where it needs deployed, easy.

The only thing i can say bad about it…..the table takes some steps and time to put together. It’s not a lot of time, but getting the parts out of the bag, putting it together is not instant. Also, getting the pieces back in the bag can be difficult when using one had, or there is wind, or sand. Still, the table would not be as compact as it is if some assembly wasn’t required.

I am currently using this to work outside on my balcony, WFH and all. I am now looking into their dinning tables, be nice to have a long one.

I bought this table for, of course like everyone else, Diner en Blanc! The carrying case is sturdy, the instructions are sewn right into the bag. The setup was very easy. Highly recommend this table.

Great addition to our travel trailer. Allowed us to play cards under the awning. Very light. Simple setup So simple that my 10 year old son set it up without instructions. Storage bag is great. Has separate sections for the base and table top to ensure it won’t get scratched up. Highly recommend.

For $35 it’s well worth it. The slats are real aluminum, not silver colored plastic or vinyl coated particle board. I wanted something to put my portable BBQ grill on when I “stealth” barbecue on my apartment balcony. I also wanted it to be portable to serve double duty for road trips, car camping etc. This table does that. There are very few plastic parts, just the spacers and the sleeves where the braces connect to the legs (understandable for friction reduction purposes during assembly/disassembly) and it seems fairly well built and reasonably stable. It should last a while. ALPS seems to have found a niche between junk and over priced gear. I’m a gear snob when it comes to backpacking, so ALPS isn’t in my vocabulary in that regard, but for car camping and general recreational use I appreciate ALPS for its reasonably priced, reasonably well-constructed gear.

We have eight people scheduled for this year’s trip, and one table won’t be enough, so I ordered a second one. Each table can seat four diners. This thing seems light and insubstantial until you snap on the top and then it’s surprisingly solid. We bought our first one six or seven years ago and have been using it once or twice a year for week-long wilderness canoe trips. It’s been great with no problems. As you can see in the attached photo, this table is the center of camp life.

It’s easy the assemble once you’ve done it once or twice, and nobody here has ever cut themselves on the table–not sure how that could happen. Yes, it could blow away in a strong wind, but so could our tents and canoes, so we tie them down. If you’re worried about the wind, set a water jug or some such on top of it.

Based on the online description, Coleman seems to have a similar product at a lower price, but Coleman products can be poor quality, and I didn’t want to take the chance since we like our original Alps table so well.

This table is light, easy to assemble, and compact. However, above all of this, its design is quite ingenious in the sense that it is both stable and flexible at the same time. There is always a concern with portable tables how stable they will be on uneven ground. The idea that comes to mind is adjustable legs, and this table does not have them. Yet, it does not need them! Its whole construction is flexible which allows it to stand on all four legs no matter what. You can assemble it at home, make sure it is steady, stick you foot under one leg, and it still will be steady! It hit an amazing balance between sturdiness and flexibility, all at the same time. On top of that, it is quite light, compact, easy to clean, and looks good – what else to wish for?
