Amazon Essentials Men’s Regular-Fit Short-Sleeve Stripe Crewneck T-Shirts

I’m a very scrawny dude, 6′ tall and about 140lbs. I wanted a striped shirt with a bit of room to move around, and I thought a medium would fit me well – but it was embarrassingly boxy and large on me. It fit almost like an XL! I filed a return and was going to send it back, but I offered it to my roommate first to see if he wanted it, since he is a little more of an average build than I am. He washed it and threw it in a dryer and decided that he didn’t want it because it shrank so much. However, conveniently enough, it fits me extremely well now! I love wearing it!

Long story short:
For an average sized person (my roommate’s like 5’10”, 150ish pounds?), a medium fit pretty well! But I definitely would recommend washing on cold and hang drying to prevent shrinkage.
For a really slim built, decently tall person, a medium worked well only AFTER shrinking it by washing on hot and frying it in a dryer.

Be careful what size you choose i am 6’2 16 stone and would usually get a XL i bought a Large because of the description and even the Large size is big hopefully it shrinks in the wash
so the sizes if meduim by small if XL buy Large if any other size over XL buy a tent or a moomoo or got on a diet

Exorted to purchase one size below normal as the tee shirts are supposed to come up ‘very big’, Seriously? You need to order your usual size and they shrink in the wash anyway.

Okay it’s a shirt, and a cheap one at that. I’m not going to expect exquisite tailoring and craftsmanship on a store brand generic shirt. But there are a couple of things that may be helpful for you in deciding if this is the one you want.

TRANSPARENCY

I don’t know if there is a formal cast in stone definition that distinguishes a tee shirt from an undershirt but I have my own – an undershirt is just that, something you wear under another garment, usually for added warmth and sometimes to add another layer when the outer one is a very sheer fabric. A tee shirt on the other hand is meant to wear all by itself, and they are almost always a solid or patterned color, often with a design printed on them. They are usually thicker than an undershirt, mostly because they are worn as a single layer and may be worn to add a little more warmth and a little less transparency. Whenever I buy a new tee shirt I hold it up to the light to see how transparent it is. This one is very thin to the point I would call it a striped undershirt.

SHAPE

Whether your shape or the shirt’s both are related. This one is blocky and square without any tapering or form fitting. If you are wider at midships than topside this shirt is a good choice. If you have an athletic build you may want to look elsewhere. Most of my tees have a slight taper but I don’t mind that this one doesn’t. That’s all personal choice and shouldn’t be included in my bottom line.

VALUE

These are normally about six bucks apiece, that’s an excellent value. I snagged a few on Prime Day for a steal but that doesn’t count. No matter how you look at it they are a good value, I would have given them a higher rating if they weren’t so thin. It’s not that I don’t like them, I just don’t love them.

These shirts fit great. They are not navy and white, but really dark blue or black and gray. The only surprising thing is that the stripes are really wide. The online picture is a bit of an optical illusion. The concept of “inmate” comes to mind. But, I got a lot of compliments when I wore one. In fact, my best friend liked it so much, I gave her the other one. They’re fun. They take a LONG time to arrive.

Bought 4 of these shirts at a great price ! We bought one size bigger in case of shrinking ! The shirts were big when first worn, but as expected they shrunk to the correct size ! We bought XXL and now fit like an XL ! The shirts are soft and washed well ! My husband and I share them, he loves they are shorter in length , and I like the longer arm length ! We will probably buy more !!
