Product looked good and was the price was good (though with vat and postage bringing a £12 item to just shy of £20, actually not so cheap). It also had a good average review score – many 5* ratings so seemed like a good deal. When it arrived it looked lovely and was comfortable to wear – quite a loose comfy fit which I liked. However I thought to check the reviews in more detail and payed attention to the 1* and 2* reviews almost all of which said the item shrank terribly when washed. With this in mind I washed the item on a low temperature (20 degrees – the lable inside the garment says that it can be washed at 40 degrees) and air dried it, avoiding a tumble dryer. However the shirt has still shrunk quite a lot and is not longer like the item that first arrived – its body and arm length particularly. I can only assume the good reviews were from buyers who reviewed the item on initially receiving and wearing the item and before washing it. When it first arrived I almost ordered another two in different colours. Glad I checked out the reviews first. I could not recommend this product. £20 wasted.

I LOVE Henley shirts during winter and have bought several for both my husband and myself. I thought I’d give this one a shot and am glad I did. The stitching is great, buttons secure. The material is nice and soft and there isn’t any annoying tag scratching my neck (I hate tags), the material isn’t flimsy. It keeps me warm, but not hot. The material seems to breath well which is important, as I have a physical job. The arms are a bit long for me, but I’m only 5′. The small is loose, a bit baggy on me, but that’s the way I like shirts at work and the gym. I wear long sleeves when I train because I HATE touching anything another person has with my bare skin. The material is nice and stretchy, so it’s perfect for bodybuilding – doesn’t pinch anywhere and I imagine it would be very flattering on some of my male fellow gym-rats. It’s a great all-around shirt and no doubt, I’ll be buying more.

This is one of the most ok Henleys I’ve bought so far. The trouble I have with these is that they seem to be taylored for people with abnormaly long arms but this one fits pretty well. It does shrink in the washer but I see that as an advantage as it fits just a little loose normally and after washing it becomes tight on the body. It’s like a template that I can just stretch as much as I want after to fit as I need it to.

My husband loves these. They make him very huggable. We have larges. They shrink a little bit, not much. But if you recieve it and it seems a little too big – just wash it.

After buy one of these shirts, I ordered 2 more. I wanted a shirt for lounging around the house. These are just what I was looking for. Very soft and comfortable. I heeded the remarks that they shrink, so I ordered the XLG. I’m 5″7′ 185 and after washing they fit great.

I love Henley style shirts and was really excited to see an Amazon Essentials men’s style in XS (I’m a 5’10” female with long arms) for a low price. I ordered the off-white XS and it’s very nice; it softens up after washing and drying, and didn’t noticeably shrink. It actually gets really, really soft.
I would say that these run a bit large though; compared to other men’s shirts that I own, I would compare this men’s XS to a men’s Small. It also is fairly boxy but I guess that is expected with men’s clothing.
After washing in cold water and drying on low heat, the chest measures 21″ flat across (armpit to armpit), 26.5″ long from neck to hem, and the sleeves are 28″ long from collar to cuff (no shoulder seams since these are raglan style). Definitely not a slim fit; a regular, maybe even slightly relaxed fit.
All in all, I really like it and will wear it often. I only wish that Amazon would offer Made in the USA clothing, instead of Made in Vietname. I’d gladly pay a little more for US products, and usually do.

Nice and long in the sleve and body, which makes a nice change as Im long in the arm and body so long sleve clothes are often too short and I find myself constantly pulling them down. I wanted baggy for comfort so went a size bigger (and because of other reviews saying it shrinks on first wash) and I got exactly what I expected. The fabric is super soft and very good quality, you cant see through it like some cheaper options. Would have liked more colour options in the larger sizes. Not washed it yet so will have to see if there is any shrinkage, but there is plenty of room if it does.

I haven’t worn the shirt yet but I did try it on and its super soft and seems really well made but they do run kind of large, of you’re one of those in between sizes and aren’t sure pick the smaller size.
Update: I wore the shirt, its been washed, dryed and worn again and I love it, the size ended up being fine. I added a star to my review and will be ordering another one.

I’m 5’9”. 175 lbs. I’m what you call “skinny fat” or “dad bod” lol!! I usually wear mediums and that’s what I bough. Shirt fits great. I actually bought the same shirt but just in slim fit. I went with a large and it felt still a little tight. I bought a medium in the regular fit and it’s much better. Slightly boxy but not bad. Fits a little snug in chest and roomy in the stomach area. There is some room in the bicep area but it’s not terrible. I washed it and it shrunk just a bit. I followed the wash directions. Very soft material for a fall day. Not a winter day. Too thin. Unless you later it. I will buy the regular fit and not the slim fit anymore.

I had really *wanted* to like this, it *looks* so good and is very comfortable. And I like what Amazon is doing with their essentials branding.
However, I don’t think I have ever worn such an oddly proportioned shirt.
Based on the reviews here (that it was too short and also would shrink) I got it *one* size big for me. It did shrink a little (so getting it big *was* mandatory) but the thing is the weird proportions. The shirttail is *short*, just barely long enough to tuck after one wash. The neck and wrist openings, on the other hand, are apparently designed for some neckless, wristless troll-like creature with tree trunk wrists and neck and really long arms. I wouldn’t want to meet whatever creature this shirt that I received would fit if it were in a bad mood.
I’m a bit hesitant to leave a negative review in case they improve it or in case my experience is not typical, but this was my experience with it.

This is the absolutely softest shirt you will EVER wear. I wore it once and immediately ordered more. We are all taking turns petting the shirt, it’s just that soft-like a cat but no mess. Oh yea, the fabric is nice and thick with a nice tight knit and feels very durable unlike so many shirts these days that are so flimsy they seem to disappear in spots. Good seams/stitching. It goes without saying this is for cold weather.
