Everything about this little beast is phenomenal from its light weight to its battery power. I needed something that could handle rough terrain of rocks, twigs, and tall weeds. The Sun Joe is just perfect as it is so lightweight it can bounce off rocks/twigs without throwing the rock or twig in my direction (added safety) or causing me to lose control. The battery lasts about 35-40min which is more than I expected and sometimes make me wonder if I will get a break when I expect one. Because the body’s plastic, cleaning is easy as I am not concerned with scratching metal. All in all I cannot say enough good things about my new favourite machine.

This mower is fantastic! It is exactly what we needed. Light, maneuverable, powerful enough to cut 4” (overgrown) grass on a wonky hillside. We bought this mower from Sun Joe because last year we bought a Sun Joe wood/stick chipper (Sun Joe CJ603E 15-Amp 1.7-Inch Cutting Diameter Electric Silent Wood Chipper/Shredder, green ) and we’re so impressed with the chipper we gave the mower a try. It was not working properly. While mowing my lawn it stopped 4 times although I have a small lawn. I filed a warranty claim abd they asked me to send videos of mowing. At the end they agreed to send me a new unit but it took more than a month and I sent more than 20 emails.

J’ai pris une chance avec ce modèle, je voulais remplacer ma tondeuse manuelle et je ne voulais pas avoir de moteur à essence ni de fil électrique. La tondeuse fonctionne très bien. Il faut prévoir vider le bac à gazon souvent, mais ça ne me dérange pas beaucoup. Elle est facile à monter, assez légère et donne une coupe bien faite. Ce qui me tracassait est la durée de la batterie. Effectivement, elle ne dure environ que 15-20 minutes. La charge prend environ 90 minutes. Alors selon la dimension du terrain, il faut prévoir plus qu’une batterie. Dans mon cas, mon terrain est de 400 mètres carrés. Avec trois batteries, j’arrive à tondre les trois quarts de ma propriété d’un coup. À 100$ la batterie, j’ai donc dû débourser 200$ de plus que le prix de la tondeuse. J’ai regretté mon achat au début à cause de ça, mais je suis de plus en plus satisfait à l’usage.

I purchased this mower, which I assume is a new Sun Joe product because it has not yet been reviewed on Amazon, because it seemed to have the solution to my battery/charging problem with the similar Sun Joe lightweight, cordless mower that I purchased several years ago. I destroyed the battery of that mower because I left it plugged in overnight, whoops!
This mower is great. For folks not familiar with previous versions of this mower, it is ideal for anyone with a small to medium sized yard. It is quiet, lightweight, easy to maneuver, and impressively scrappy as the engine kicks into turbo to successfully cut overgrown grass and weeds when you’ve let the yard go. Truly makes mowing a pleasure.
Past models had a major deficit though: a battery that was attached to the mower so the mower had to be plugged into an outlet to charge which for me meant plugging it in to the outlet in my outdoor garage, forgetting to unplug when it was charged, and destroying the battery. Also, the battery of past models was less powerful so I couldn’t mow my whole yard without having to recharge, especially if my grass was overgrown and the mower had to kick into turbo.
This model far surpassed my expectations. With just one charge, it took care of my disturbingly overgrown backyard and my front yard! My dad had laughed at it and called it a toy and told me I had to call landscapers to mow, at least the first mow of the season, with a “real” mower. But this little guy did the job flawlessly! I’m delighted.

Literally the only negative thing I have to say is that the instruction manual isn’t very good.
Other than that, oh man is this thing great. I was shocked at how quiet it is, which means I won’t be worried or feel guilty about waking up neighbors on a Saturday/Sunday morning. It is ultra light weight which my wife loves, extremely maneuverable, easily stored, and you don’t have to deal with any mess from gas/oil! I wish I had this mower years ago. Definitely a 10/10 highly recommend.

Powerful lawnmower that automatically speeds up when cutting thicker grass. Lightweight and very maneuverable with a large capacity grass catcher. The battery lasted for about an hour of work – excellent value for the price paid.

I ordered this after trying a comparable Green works product which was a disaster because of their lousy customer service, poorly written manual, and flimsy, cheap mower which was more expensive. This mower blows away the GW mower in many ways. First of all, while plastic it is a bit more sturdy. Assembly was easy and the battery was mostly charged. The first time I used it it had rained and the grass was still damp but this mower did the job even though, because of me, the mower bogged down and shut down. The reason was I learned the clippings bag was full and it just couldn’t go on. This is when I learned the bag fills up VERY quickly so I quit using it after the second mow. I tried to restart it and it wouldn’t start. I took out the battery and shoved it back it, cleaned around the bottom and it restarted. There is a detail in the manual about what to do if it shuts down. If there is a thick area the machine will turbo up. It has cut my mowing time by around half which is great!
The manual is very well done, very complete and detailed. Everything is professionally printed and easy to understand with FAQ and replacement part info. The warranty registration was easy and I got 2 years and 90 days extra (which was free).
Today I did the back which is thick St. Augustine (highest setting) and the front which is a mix of St. A and Bermuda with one dot to spare. Very easy to maneuver around trunks and fits between narrow areas unlike my other mower. The mower also has an adjustment for height but be careful when moving the axle in the FRONT. I have very tiny hands but my fingers got stuck between the axle and openings and pulling them out was painful but I didn’t get cut or injured. The back axle is more accessible and easy to see the settings on the wheel versus the front.
Battery charging takes about 2.5 hrs to charge which is very reasonable. There is a key you insert which is a problem if you lose so instead of taking out the key when done I only deal with the battery.
All in all a very nice machine and I recommend it for the price.

It’s almost too light. I find myself pushing too hard and elevating the front wheels. My year “outside the fence” is cut by a landscaper but my “inside the fence “ yard I do with this. Cuts sharply and very evenly. This pet of the yard is not big but is many things in the way like a pool a deck a patio, the the maneuverability is perfect for all the little obstacles. Battery lasts about a good hour and it is easily put away. Price is right also. Like it a lot.

I have a yard that is small but in parts was overgrown by the time this was shipped to me, and it’s worked well. I love not having to deal with gas and oil and it’s very easy to tuck into my small but stuffed storage space. It cuts through heavier and overgrown areas well if you know how to do it, although I wouldn’t try to cut a large overgrown field with this. The battery lasts ok, not great but now I know to cut the front first, then the back after a recharge. You do have to clean out underneath – it looks like it’s spitting the grass out but clippings get stuck. It choked out and I thought “Aha! Doesn’t work-must return!” but after a new charge, it’s working as well as before. I’ll keep that area cleaned out now that I know. My guess is the blade will need to be sharpened more often than a gas mower, but that’s worth it to me when I have a more compact and cleaner mower. You can spend more for an electric mower like this for a small yard, but I’m glad I didn’t.

I purchased this mower for my mother. She has a very tiny yard. The mower itself is not bad but the battery is a real joke. The first time she mowed, she had to charge the battery four times to finish it even though its a really small yard. Sun Joe sent a second battery for replacement but it is just as bad. If sun joe sold this mower with 3-4batteries or upgraded their batteries to better ones, this mower could be great, but as of now, I do not recommend it to anyone.
