This unit is easy to setup. But if you have any question about the connection…the documentation is weak. It does not expound on the possible issues one can encounter…but after some experimentation the sound is a great step up from the speakers on the set.

Update 06/10/2021
HDMI inputs still don’t work and customer support basically say they are not supposed to work, which, I think, means the support people are not knowledgeable.
If you read all the reviews here you will notice that the 5 star reviewers are people not using the HDMI inputs on the soundbar and the bad reviews, like mine, do want to use them.
=================================================================
For starters, I have had two previous soundbar with this TV and cable box and they worked perfectly.
Was excited to get this and if you can get it all working (an exercise in frustration every time you switch it on) the sound and options are very good.
However, unless you don’t care about any of the 3 HDMI inputs, you are out of luck. Trust me, I’ve tried every type of HDMI setup with ARC and without ARC and none of them work reliably with my Samsung 7 smart TV. Not my cable box, not my ROKU stick on either input.
The TV always knows it’s connected to the MagniFi but tells me there is no data from the source whether I pick HDMI 1 (cable box) or 2 (Roku).
Strangely it will sometime pass the video through, but does not capture the audio, which it should, or even pass it through.
Oddly, if I use the input selector button on the sound bar, not the remote, and cycle through every option, eventually it all connects. After that, it’s fine — until I turn it off and on again. Just to be clear, the lights on the sound bar DO respond correctly to the remote buttons.
I think they have a bunch of unresolved firmware and software bugs in this new product and I would not recommend buying it until they are resolved.

Worked ok for the first few weeks but never quite got it consistently working when turning the device back on. Now it’s just to the point where no matter what I do it will not play any sound from inputs besides blue tooth. The sound is good when it works but this is just not on the same level as other interconnected devices and it’s a no from me dog.

This soundbar had ok sound but ever since this was delivered to me, this unit was PLAGUED with various issues. Inputs kept randomly switching. I tried setting up the Chromecast feature and it required a firmware update which completely bricked the soundbar! My google chromecast with Google TV all of the sudden had no video displaying or a pink hue to the video which would not go away. After multiple factory resets, I decided that this wasn’t worth the frustration and bought the JBL bar 5.1 instead. It was about $100 more but 0 problems and much better sound and bass. Please look elsewhere if you are in the market for a good soundbar.

This sound bar is everything it says it is and more. I would highly recommend it to anyone having problems with their surround sound.

We bought one about 18 months ago, works awesome. Great Sound, from the Tv’s HDMI ARC plug, also from blue tooth on our phones for playing all type of music. Night mode works nice if someones sleeping. The wireless sub connects and really gives movies and shows that extra depth, and good thump while playing music. It even sound like there are side to rear speakers at times and there’s not. We bought our first one from Best Buy because it was on sale. We love it so much we bought another one last week from Amazon for the family/movie room. It arrived a day and a half after I ordered it. 5 STARS!

Purchased in December 2020 to replace 5.1 Polk surround sound speakers. Knew it would be a step down but it sounds great for what it is, especially the subwoofer. Like the ability to change sound for sports and to increase voice volume. The subwoofer has the ability to shake the walls, which is on par with my previous Polk subwoofer.
Unfortunately, about a month ago when the soundbar turned on with the TV, it started emitting this piercing, high pitched sound. The only way to make it stop was to unplug it. Came back on and seemed to work ok and then it happened again today. Not sure if this is related to the HDMI Arc cable or what but it’s super annoying.
