Bought this case before the phone even came out! Was cheaper from Best Buy than even UAG’s website. This fit the Moto G Power (There is no G8 or G8 Power in US).
It was exactly what I wanted, a thin black one-piece case with cutouts for the ports (no covers). The case does cover the power and volume buttons and makes them a little harder to press, but that might just need some breaking in and it hasn’t interfered with my usage at all. The textures on the sides are great as well. Overall seems to be a rugged and well-designed case for the price.

A helpful BestBuy employee gave me this G8 case for a Moto G7. I didn’t find out I had the wrong case until I got home. Turns out it fits the G7 but I had to drill some holes for the camera lens, LED light, and headphones, then it was satisfactory. In particular: it properly engages the phone’s side buttons which I like. Modifying the case was easier/faster for me than returning to the store.
I like to keep my phone in my back pocket and when I do the top or bottom edge of the cover pops off off the phone a little bit. Not a problem, especially now that I expect it to happen all the time. When I grab the phone I always pop the case on that edge without thinking about it. The case will unavoidably press all the side buttons when you insert/remove the phone.
I’ve dropped the phone once so far from only 100cm or so. The case protected the phone just fine.

Great case, looks great for an all black case, only downside is the bump on the back (case design) which makes it too thick to effectively use with a magnetic phone holder unless you put the metal plate on the outside.

The case itself was great! The only issue that I have is that I wish it was a little deeper. If that makes sense. There’s not much protection for the screen because there is very little space between the screen and the edge of the case. But, overall I’m pretty satisfied with it.

Great phone cover it’s alittle boxy at the edges and makes it hard to swipe to the edge of the screen but to me that’s a small price to pay for a safe phone.

Seriously Lenovo Motorola you’ve messed up BIG this time around.
There’s like 7 or 8 different variations of these Moto G phones for different markets all over the world.
Sellers, Best Buy included were told that these cases for the Moto G8 Power would fit the US exclusive “Moto G Power”.
IT WON’T.
The Moto G Power has an entire different layout for the cameras, headphone jack, microphone, and actual dimensions of the device itself.
Please Best Buy, you have to pull these Moto G8 and Moto G8 Power cases from your stores and online stock and send your customers, myself included, a free case as apology for your screw up.
I had purchased this Moto G8 Power case because in the description it said it was compatible with the “Moto G Power”.
The correct model of this specific UAG case for the “Moto G Power” is 812288114040
You’re welcome.

I sort of had no choice to purchase this case. I had just purchased the phone for my kid and this was the last case on the shelf that would fit. I grudgingly purchase it, and it immediately started making me very happy that I did. For starters it was on sale, 33% off the original price. I took it home with the new phone and while my kid was getting things ready to move off the old phone, I put the phone in the case and handed the phone over. He set the phone on the counter and with ownership of not quite 30 seconds, he knocked the phone off the counter, to the laminate floor. It’s a standard height counter of 40 – 42″, or something like that. My first thought: “Well, I think that’s a new record!” However, the phone was perfectly fine. No dings, scratches, or dents. The case did what it designed to do. It protected the phone from a drop of less than 4 feet. These days, that says a lot.

I just picked one of these up. The part number on the box is 812288124040. It fit my my new US-version Moto G Power just fine. Another reviewer is claiming it doesn’t. That is incorrect. This one does fit.
I saw another review that claimed a loose fit. This is not my experience. The case is not ridiculously tight or anything, maybe that’s what they expected. I found it to be just right; easy to get on and off, stays put when it’s on.
It’s a good case, fits well, is slim, and looks great. Little pricey compared to other cases in this segment, but not terrible.
