The listing was for “GB 46-315UVB Electrical 14-Inch UVB Cable Ties, Black, 100-Pack”. What was received was a package of black cable ties from a well known importer of Chinese junk, Mono$$. This is not a Gardner Bender product. It does not match the features in the product description, most seriously having only a 50lb rating rather than 75lb. If you want Chinese junk cable ties then go straight to the Mono$$ website and buy them for 75% less money.
When I brough this to the attention of the merchant (Fullfilled by Amazon), he claimed GB stood for “Generic Brand” and that Amazon just fulfills the order from a “big bin” and that it was acceptable to receive the product I did.
If Gardner Bender is smart, they will contact Amazon to have the listing corrected as this clearly is an attempt at selling inferior goods and making them seem like GB.
Thankfully Amazon refunded the purchase price.

I’m confused. The product listing says UV resistant (“Ultraviolet black (UVB) ties resist harmful light rays”). Thinking that that would mean OK for outdoor use (silly me?), I ordered a pack. Package now in hand, I see that it says, “Indoor Use”. Unfortunately, the Amazon listing didn’t say “Indoor Use” and didn’t show the package (the only picture is of a single black cable tie).
If the listing had included a legible photo of the package or described the cable ties as “Indoor,” I’d have looked for different ties, ones explicitly rated for outdoor use.

Picture was a lie, these are only rated for 0 celsius…. I should of paid closer attention and noticed that the picture showing the other package is not even the same model #

La photo est trompeuse, ils sont juste bon pour 0 degrés celsius. J’aurais du voir que c’était même pas le bon numéro de modèle.

I received this item very quickly and immediately noticed they were not twice the size of the 4″ ones that came in the same box… upon measuring them, they are 11″ zip ties in a package labeled 8″ and has a label stuck over the label on the bag; however the old label also says 8″ so I am not sure what happened, especially since they fit in the bag… I did not bother contacting the seller as if the packaging was mislabeled, I was more likely to get the same item the next time… (I believe the ones I bought were sold not by amazon, but stored in an amazon website, thus the double labels…)
anyway, they are thick and sturdy ties, not likely to break easily; however out of the 10+ that I have used successfully, I had to trash 2 already that did not have a lock in them at all. if that averages out across the entire pack, I’ll have closer to 20% failure rate. considering the price, a penny plus $5 shipping, that is not such a good deal. The 4″ ties I purchased
Amico 1000 Pcs 110mm x 2mm Self Locking Wire Cable Zip Tie 4.3″ Black
were 1000 in a bag, $1.76 AND free shipping (apparently they are no longer available at that price, I should have bought 2 or 3 bags), also I’ve used more than 60 of them with out one failing, at that rate it would be cheaper to connect 3×4″ ties together instead of buying 8″ ties that are really 11″ when I only actually needed 6″ ties, but could not find any for sale at a reasonable price.
Overall it is not as though I bought something for a couple hundred dollars, I can still use them and cut them smaller as needed. I bought this for the cutting
Xuron 2175 Maxi-Shear Flush Cutter
and it works perfect, clean, non-sharp cuts right down the lock and has no problems even cutting these thicker ties.
I took 1 star off for the failure rate, and one for the quantity and price, but I put one star back, as when I added the link to the 1000 4.3″ ties I noticed the price I bought them at has changed to be more in line with the price I paid for the 8″ ones…
The good news is if I ever have to tie up someone who has broken into my house, I can use these, as long as I can find one that is not broken.

Good but sent from USA

These are holding up way better than the last heavy duty zip ties I bought! No more sagging couch and no expensive trip to the appolsterer!

I finally got around to using some of these so I thought I’d write a quick review of my experience. Hopefully it will help someone else decide if these are right (or not) for their application. I bought these to keep a couple of plastic bins shut in a “semi-secure” fashion. I also bought a small pair of side cutters to keep handy for cutting them loose when needed. It turns out I didn’t need the cutters after all. They certainly aren’t meant for security but I figured in a pinch it was better than nothing and might keep an honest person honest and from poking around. One of them broke when I was threading the end through other end and pulling it tight! Two others broke after I had them threaded through and simply hooked a finger through a little of the slack just to tug on it LIGHTLY to make sure it wasn’t going to pull loose! So, I guess it really just depends on what you’ll be using them for. If it’s simply bundling some wires together for some cable management then they’ll probably work just fine. If there’s going to be ANY stress or weight on them at all then I would pass and find something else that doesn’t break quite so easy. Granted, I’m probably using them a bit outside what they were designed for but I seem to remember cable ties in the past that I couldn’t break with just my hands no matter what I tried. In the past I ended up having to get some cutters or a knife of some sort to cut them open. These are definitely not of that type.

At less than one year in the California desert these are now better suited for cake decorating than as ties. those that have not been used are so brittle they cannot be bent far enough to fasten them without breaking. They installed well and had good strength at that time. Now I will be investing in a way to fasten 80 feet of golf netting that lasts longer than it takes to pay the bill. Avoid these cheap, short-lived imitations of a useful product.

I required UV-resistant zip ties for outdoor use in the hot summer sun, and although these meet my needs they are horribly over-priced! In this particular case, I would recommend shopping around or buying local. Nothing special about this product.

They look and feel solid, but for some unknown and mysterious reason, three of them are unusable as they are already locked in together… (see photo). I know there is an annoying way to unlock zip ties, but I would’ve done so with other zip ties I had if I wanted to go through the trouble. Also, descriptions said there were 10, but I only got 8…

Disappointed. Decided on these ties because they were described as “Heavy-Duty” and “UV Resistant” . Our intended use is for both indoor and outdoor applications. The package we received indicates “Standard Cable Ties” and “Indoor Use”. I like the GB brand, and I am sure these are fine ties for indoor use. It is odd that a product would be marketed as UV resistant yet not suitable for outdoor use. I am providing a low rating because this product was not accurately described in the listing. I regret that I did not read the questions/reviews prior to making my purchase.
