For the price, this desk is fine. I think I was fortunate in that I didn’t receive one that was blatantly damaged in shipping. The legs are packaged outside of the rest of the desk, so they are kind of prone to damage, but mine were fine. The desk itself looks nice and passes as hardwood. The more you look at the details though, you will probably be let down and see why it is on the cheaper side. The whole thing is patched together, none of the pieces are a single piece of wood. Also, the tray hardware is cheap and does not work smoothly. I removed the drawer front altogether because it did not fit well at all, and this exposes some holes in the desk frame that were not patched. Speaking of patches, there is a very obvious wood filler patch on the underside of the keyboard tray. I reversed my tray (front to back) so there wouldn’t be a bump pressing into my wrists as other reviews mentioned. Fortunately the latch was underneath. This probably adds to the janky operation of the rollers since the rails have to screwed on in reverse. The desk is study and level on my floor, but it has no protection under the feet, bring your own. I probably wouldn’t stand on this desk if I had to, given the wood isn’t of great quality. If you were expecting a bargain solid hardwood desk, this isn’t it. I think overall it is fine and I am fortunate to get one that looks presentable on the surface, but the quality control is just not good, and the quality of the patchwork wood is marginal. I honestly think it should be a bit cheaper given what you get.

Small, compact. Perfect for the small space I have for computer setup in cabin while house being built. Because the “drawer” hides a pullout space for keyboard, table will have further use when I return to using a larger desk. The stain color is a warm maple; perfect as storage baskets I have in same color give a matched look.. However, it could be tricky if you don’t want that light and warm maple look. Very sturdy. Did come with a chipped off piece of wood from one of the legs. Found the piece in bottom of box. Lucked out it is at the top of the leg and I can glue it back on to a back leg where won’t show. I believe description says something along the lines of “solid wood”. Yes and no. The top piece is made up of strips of board glued side by side and end by end. Looks fine side by side but end to end the pieces have a “tooth” look where they were locked together and then glued. Not glaring, but there, plus the concept there was a lot of glue used. Very sensitive to chemicals but think I will be ok with small amount needed to put this piece together and with the slight stain smell that is going away quickly. Got the impression from both the smell in packing product and the slight blurring of stain that it had barely dried when boxed up. Overall happy with the price (Thanks Prime coupon), the small statement it makes and the fact it only has one piece of MDF which is temporary. With the popularity of DYI’ing it seems to be harder and harder to buy thrift store finds of real wood furniture unless you want to plunk down an investment of money and a heavy looking piece of furniture. (P.S. toss the packing that comes with the table immediately as it has quite a toxic smell from the stain; Minor smell on the table that is going away quickly.)

I’m very disappointed with this desk.
I thought it would be solid wood from the description. It clearly says solid wood. I’m looking at the inside of the crack and it’s not solid wood. It’s very cheap.
It’s very light material and apparently easily broken.
I slid the pieces out of th box and immediately saw it had a huge crack and a dent. It was well packaged with a lot of styrofoam surrounding it, but nonetheless arrived broken.
I tried to return it immediately and the only option is to pay to have it shipped back.
I’m not paying to return a broken desk. This should be covered.
So I basically wasted $130 and now have to buy a new desk. I will be buying it from a local store and not Amazon.

The finish & colour was what I expected. However, I was extremely disappointed with the following:

1. The box of accessories (screws, bolts, and washers) was crushed in the packaging which meant they were all scattered throughout and nestled into the creases of the cardboard box. I spent an e significant amount of time opening, removing the packaging and account for each piece.
2. The keyboard tray is poorly designed and continues to fall off the railing, when completely retracted, not to mention is now scratching the wood surface.
3. Holes were re-drilled into the door to align with the bracket.

I was, however, pleasantly surprised that the assembly was much easier than what I expected, except now that I need to find a solution to the tray which keeps falling off the rails.

This table works great and is made of real wood. None of that fake cheap BS: laminate, veneer, wood composites, medium density and high density fiber board, and particle board. The table is made of 12″ long x 2.5″ wide wood pieces finger joined and glued together to form one solid table top piece. Think of a wood butcher block, but longer and wider and that is this table. Has a nice honey gold finish, which I like for making small rooms appear larger than they are. I don’t understand why people buy dark stained wood. Are they crazy? Why make your room feel cramped? World Market has a similar table, but their prices are higher and I have to haul their table home in my car. Therefore, I ended up ordering the table online with my Prime card, since they ship direct to my house.

The table shipped in a decent padded box with all the hardware included. I think the manufacturer uses strategic cardboard padding to prevent damage, because they know UPS brown will handle their box real gentle like a wrestling match. I didn’t use the flat provided wrench for assembly. Jesus, that would have taken forever to assemble using that thing. I have my own wrench and socket set that I used, which makes installation so much easier. Everything assembled easily using the pictograph directions and the drawer cover opens and closes easily. I dressed up the table a little by throwing away the wood knob and buying a nice silver knob from the home box store. If your floors are uneven you may have to stick a wood or plastic wedge under one of the legs to keep wobble to a minimum, but the table is really stable with no wobble, since my floors are flat like Kansas.
