It’s harder to find a thick, sturdy yardstick than one would think. I bought a couple others that had good reviews, but were pretty flimsy.

This one really is thick and sturdy, which is good because I use it as a 3′ pole as much as a yardstick. Great for getting kids toys from underneath the couch. 🙂

It measures things up to about a yard long pretty well too. So long as you are in the US to need such a measurement, you are fine.

I needed a new yardstick for my classroom. In addition to measurements, one of my main uses is to draw straight lines. This stick is not straight on one side. It is crooked right after the six. In the pictures, you can see where it is crooked and how it cannot go flat against the wall. The other side is straighter, but it just defeats the purpose of an accurate tool for a measurement. I would definitely not re-purchase.

I got this, “metal tipped” yardstick expecting it to have a metal edge down one side to make it easier/smoother to trace a line down that side. Every other metal tipped yardstick I have ever seen has that feature. That is the entire purpose of metal on a yardstick. To give you a nice beveled edge to draw a line against.

Not this one. No. This yardstick has a small bit of metal folded over each end. Why? I can’t imagine. It adds nothing to the integrity or structure of the yardstick. It adds no functionality. It doesn’t even go across the entire end. Where I to want to draw a line the width of the yard stick for some unknown reason, even that wouldn’t be smooth because there is a ledge where the metal bit drops off. So really, as far as I can tell, “metal tipped” in this cause is actually making this less usable.

It’s made a very lightweight wood. I’m used to a yardstick with a touch more weight, but for some lighter might be better. Mine did not come warped as someone else complained of. At least not as I can tell.

I didn’t check the accuracy against another measuring device, but it looks right. One side has inches on one edge & centimeters on the other. The other side has inches on one edge & 8ths of the yard marked on the other edge, which could come in handy.

Really, I would have been pleased if the thing was properly metal tipped along the edge. I expected better out of a known company like Dritz.

If someone knows of a reason for metal tipping the ends in this way that makes it more useful for some task, please comment & let me know. If I ordered a product meant for another use, that would at least make sense to me. I cannot come up with any scenario though in which this product makes sense at all.

This item is just okay. My lack of enthusiasm comes from the fact that it arrived looking like something from a discount sale bin. The wood has a dark imperfection streaking down one side. Fine. More bothersome is the cracking that also runs down about a foot of the surface. Fortunately, it isn’t too deep. Also, why cover a wooden item with stickers that leave it covered in glue no matter how carefully you try to remove them? What a pain.
Other than that, it appears to be fairly straight. I haven’t had a chance to judge the quality of the edge yet, and if thats a problem, I’ll edit this review later.

This yardstick IS in fact a yard long. It is sturdy enough for the price you pay and get’s the job done…unless you need to measure something larger than a yard, then I would recommend something bigger. This was perfect for measuring my nephew. PLEASE NOTE: spherical items are not easy to measure with this yardstick as it is wooden and is not very flexible.

This item is very sturdy and accurate. I haven’t missed a single victim in my violent sword-like swinging fits with my new wooden weapon. Has some strange markings up and down the sides that look like measurements. It’s probably so my enemies can see how long my whacking stock is.

Ordered one and another as a replacement. Both have black streaks over measurement numbers. Second one is bowed and does not lay flat. No QC at the factory in China, Dritz, or Amazon. Especially concerning that the replacement had the marks.

I bought this ruler specifically for an art project and it worked out great for that. it functions as a ruler should but the only complaint I have is the quality. the edges aren’t as smoothed out as they should be. if handled roughly I feel like I could easily get a splinter. I smoothed it out as best as I could with just a small plastic ruler (which isn’t good btw)

overall functionality wise…it’s good. but the quality isn’t great. I’ll still be using it however!
