These shoes fit as expected for me at US 10.5 wide. They are comfortable shoes and do not require much break in. I walked 1 mile the first day and 2 miles the second day in addition to wearing them all day at work. I had mild hot spots on my heals but no blisters or even redness. They aren’t the best looking shoes I own, but for the price I think they are a good value and are fine for the office. I have a pair of Docker Oxfords that cost $30+ more and look better, but I’ve yet to break them in. These Bostonians are winning the morning decision on which shoes to wear.

I have been buying these shoes for several years now, replacing pairs as they wear out. Unfortunately they have changed. First off, they are bigger than they used to be. I was a 10.5W, and now the 10.5W is huge on me. That’s fine, I ordered the 10.5M to try as well, anticipating this. But it is very uncomfortable on the heal and causes abrasion as I walk. The sole is also super slippery instead of the more grippy rubber that they used to use. Alas, I’m forced to return these and find a new shoe altogether. Arg!!

Opening the box I found numerous scuffs and marks in the leather. One shoe has wrinkled leather where the other shoe is smooth in the same spot. The soles were new looking but I won’t buy from this seller again. I would have returned them but I needed a new pair badly.
After 3 weeks the finish is coming off the toes. These are garbage quality compared to my last pair ordered. Apparently Bostonian quality has changed for the worst. After 4 weeks Clarks USA finally offer to exchange these awful shoes. |f you wear them once a year for a weeding that’s about all they are good for.

These are good shoes. At first the heel area was causing a blister but its seems to get better as it is being worn more. Quality seems good.

As someone with big and wide feet, these are great. Very comfortable for walking/standing all day and the leather is pretty durable. I haven’t seen any peeling or damage even though I’ve scraped it a few times.

These 11W are my third pair of Bostonians (second pair of brown and I also have a black pair). It took me three years of wearing the first brown pair several days a week to have to replace them. (The black pair I wear slightly less often so they might last another six months before needing replaced.) The last brown pair, I touched up a few times with some shoe cream but the soles eventually wore themselves smooth due to a lot walking on concrete. So I sit her with a my new pair of Wenham Cap Oxfords on. Probably the fourth time I’ve worn them to work and they are already so broken in I wasn’t even conscious of wearing them until I got the email asking me to write a review. I have wide, flat feet. These are the lightest and most comfortable dress shoe (civilian or military) that I have found. Easy to maintain. Wipes clean when mud, dirt, dust get on them.

The shoes I received are made in India and are brown (size 9D medium). I paid $53.95 for the shoes.

The look of the shoe when it’s just out of the box is just as shown. I don’t particularly like a square toed shoe. And this shoe does have just a bit of a square toe. But I realized that before I purchased it and had decided that if it actually looked as pictured then I could live with that because otherwise the shoe has a nice appearance. And the look of the shoe is as pictured. And when first taken out of the box they’re not a bad looking shoe.

I’ve only worn the shoes once, and that was to Sabbath services … and so it wasn’t at all a hard duty on the shoes. But I have to say that just that one wearing has given the shoes a surprisingly worn look. And I find that the leather is very easily scuffed and it doesn’t seem to me to be a quality leather on account of this. And so I’m anticipation at this point that they likely will not last for very long a time.

The shoes seem to fit well enough. The only thing about the fit is that I find that my keel has a tendency to slide up and down a bit when walking. More so than with any pair of my other dress shoes.

The shoes are lighter than any of my other dress shoes. But I would rather a heavier shoe that didn’t show ware so quickly. My other dress shoes don’t show ware the way these do. I’ve already had to polish these shoes … whereas normally I can wear my other dress shoes for many months in this same service without having to polish them … and they don’t get the worn look these have gotten already.

One other thing I’ve noticed about the shoe (and this is kind of hard to describe) is that when standing and walking in them the support given by the sole has a “bubble wrap” feeling to it. That is, the sole doesn’t feel like one is standing on something solid. And that “bubble wrap” feeling of support doesn’t feel like it extends completely across the width of the shoe. In any case it strikes me that it may be this feature of the shoe that makes it so the shoe is as light as it is.

In any case I am glad that I didn’t pay more than I did for these shoes. I feel like I probably got what I paid for. So I will wear these shoes (until they wear out). But when they do wear out (and I’m not expecting a lot in that regard) I won’t plan on buying another pair of this particular shoe.

2 October 2019 update … Actually I’ve come to rather like the shoes and they have been holding up rather well. Of course buying something like shoes online can be rather chancy since you can’t try them on before you buy them to make sure they’re really what you want and that they fit well. However, in this case it turned out OK. And I have to say that if I knew I’d get the same result again then I’d be happy to buy these shoes again.

This was at least my third pair of this shoe across many years. I bought the first pair in a store, then found them online when the first pair wore out. I ordered this shoe again thinking I would get an extremely comfortable shoe with a cushioning sole that significantly helps my service-connected knee pain. Well, they redesigned it. The biggest issue is that the 8M is extremely narrow. So much so that my right outer toes go numb immediately and my left outer toes are in pain. The whole front of the shoe is smaller and squeezes my feet so bad I was in pain all day. I tried stuffing balled socks in the toes overnight to stretch them, which helped only slightly. In addition, the ankle/Achilles tendon portion of the shoe is less padded and has very rough stitching, making for a stiff and uncomfortable fit in the back of the shoe. The new insert design seemed stiffer and bumpy. Also not comfortable. I waited to wear the shoes after receiving them, and by the time I gave up on trying to improve the fit or break them in, it was past the return window. Bad thinking on my part – should have worn them right away. I found reasonably well-fitting shoes for a better price in a local store. If you purchase these, at least make sure they are one width larger than you usually get.

I was not sure about these at first as the soles are pretty cheap looking; but they look great on and the leather quality seems to be good. Very light and comfortable; just look cheap close up due to how the soles are attached but good price

These shoes fit great. After trying many pairs and finding most to be too narrow or just too expensive, I came across these Bostonians. I have had good luck with the brand in the past and got a lot of life out of them. Amazon had better pricing than most stores, so I decided to order online. I was concerned about the size since only 2E was listed and the store had a W which fit great. Well, once I placed the order, the 2E turned into a W in my cart, so I knew I chose the correct pair. Confusing. It would be nice if the size options matched what the shoes actually say.
