It works, but I was used to taking another brand and I really believe the other brand helped me to not only get to sleep, but have a better quality of sleep. I have to take 2 of these (opposed to the recommended 1 pill) just to get to sleep. I like the price and quantity opposed to my other brand, but probably won’t order again.

Causes me to have nightmares. Something I never have. I went from poor sleep to nightmares. I will just live with the poor sleep.

I bought this product because of the reviews, I am on Letrozole because of cancer and one of the side effects is insomnia; I tried other Melatonin pills and they will help me fall sleep, but will wake up in the middle of the night and not be able to go back to sleep. Since I am taking Natrol Advanced Sleep Melatonin, I not only go to sleep, but I stay sleeping all night and wake up to my alarm. Best yet, when I wake up in the middle of the night, I can go right back to sleep. Best thing that has happen to me since being diagnosed with cancer 2 months ago.

I never write reviews but I’m excited to write one for this product. For the past six years I’ve been having sleep problems. I fall asleep fine but wake up after 4 hours like clockwork. Then I’m awake for 2-3 hours and usually fall back to sleep around the time that I need to wake up. I’ve tried melatonin before and tried prescription drugs once but nothing has helped. I decided to try this product since it has a higher dosage and it’s time released. Last night I took 1 pill around 11pm and woke up this morning at 6:47am. I was so confused when I looked at the clock because I’m so accustomed to it showing a time of 3-4am. Crossing my fingers that it works again tonight.

I previously used Sleep Right 5mg time released melatonin which worked great for me, but Amazon no longer carries it. I saw this and noticed it had 5mg fast release and another 5mg timed release, so I assumed this would work even faster. I switched over to this and tossed and turned after the first night. I gave it 4 more nights, but it didn’t seem to be working. On the 5th night I tried one of my old Sleep Right 5mg and I slept through the night.
I really wanted to like this brand, but it’s not working out for me.

I’ve been using melatonin as a sleep aide for over twenty years, and the problem with the generic pills is that they wear off after 4-5 hours, so you wake up a couple of hours too early, and have trouble falling back asleep. These extended-release pills work better than the generics, and they don’t appear to be habit forming. I’ve also used Lunesta (prescription) for helping fall asleep, and the Lunesta is great for occasional use, but the doctor will tell you to not take it every night, or its effectiveness will tend to wear off and it will become habit forming. So I stick with the melatonin and save the Lunesta for that rare time that I need something stronger. These Natrol pills are the best melatonin pills I’ve ever used.

I tried using this time release formula for a full week, gradually increasing the dosage to 30mg (10mg for the couple nights, then 20 the next few and finally 30mg the rest, but it did not help me fall asleep or even stay asleep. As a matter of fact, it actually had the OPPOSITE effect…it kept me awake and took me a very long time to finally fall asleep each night (which is not normal for me…I just have issues staying asleep through the night). I’m sure this is a good product for the average person, but thinking I’m not the average person – lol.

Helps me fall asleep and STAY asleep – would highly recommend the time release. Get 10mg if you are an insomniac.
